Not at $599. $499 I'd consider, but even then I may wait for the first price drop.
Right now I'm having a major, major internal discussion with myself. I really only want to get one of the next gen machines, at least initially. I'm a huge Halo fan, but my missus is a huge PlayStation fan and loves Japanese RPGs. As someone who generally enjoys taking a dump on Sony (and I own a lot of their stuff, so that's why), I was genuinely impressed with what I saw today. I'm really tempted to plonk down the cash on the PS4 instead of the next Xbox. It depends on what Microsoft shows.
That digression leads to the fact I'm prepared to pay NZ$1200 (US$1000) for either one. It's just a question of which one. Already saving.
I just went to the preorder page for EB Games australia.
It's listed as aud$899, being $920 of your american rubles on today's market.
From what we know, the PS4 seems like an intense machine, and Sony doesn't seem to be afraid of putting too much inside the console. But looking at what it most cost to make it, I assume it will cost at least $399 at launch. Do you think they can pull off another $599 fiasco for their benefit this time around? Or is even $499 feasible for them to price it at?
It's a copy-paste from my fail thread, but here's my opinion anyway.
I'd be ok to pay $500.
Yip, sounds about right, PS4 was always going to cost serious money for us Aussies and that's with a high dollar.
Guys...phones are $600 now. We have GPU's that are $900. You cheapasses...
You forgot those overpriced things called tablets. Well, a good amount of them anyway.
You're point is still kinda weak though, we all know that consoles have hidden cost. Controllers, potential sub fee, games for sure, etc.
This is why these comparisons usually do not match up.
