Ok so I admit to being bored.

If you've ever watched true blood, you know about being called shifters. They have a tendency to shift into the same animal which they have grown accustomed to.

So let's imagine you could shift into 3 different "familiars". Which would you choose?

Please bear in mind, that when shifted, you do retain your intelligence, but lose your ability to talk and you gain the senses of the creature you've shifted into.

Caveats: If you choose an animal with greater mass than yourself, the duration of the shift will be limited, and you may not choose an animal more massive than a Bull of the bovine variety. Additionally, you may not choose man-made hybrid creatures like a liger or unicorn.

Max shift duration for an animal with significantly more mass than yourself: 30 minutes

Shift duration for an animal with around your same mass, if not a wee bit larger or smaller: 2 hours.

Shift duration for an animal with significantly less mass than yourself: Indefinite.

Smallest creature you can shift into: A Fly

My picks:

1. My fighting creature - Leopard. This is for when I need to kill lots of people...you know in self defense. Leopard are incredibly deadly and well, about the same mass as I (ok actually less, but still I get 2 hours out of the form!)

2. My "Every day" creature - Red Tail Hawk. Can fly pretty fast in a straight line (which is why I chose it over a larger soaring bird), soar decently and dive impressively.

3. My "stealth" creacture - Gecko. Small, flat, can crawl into all sorts of areas and walk on walls! Hell Yeah!

1) ligers arent man made. they just occur in captivity where the two species over lap.

You do not seem to be aware that humans already have more then 5 senses, like our sense of timing, or our sense of balance. Pain is also classified as a separate sense from touch, along with our sense of telling different temperatures.
