IGN- exclusive preview to a PS3 game thursday..

Aaaand this kind of talk guarantees it to be a preview on the PS3 version of Fatal Inertia.

HAHAHAHA... I think if the guys did that it would just prove that they're a bunch of sadistic bastids. I'm kinda hoping people are pleasantly surprised.

has anything been confirmed yet?

I answer only because you are a fellow Bishop. Nuh uh. And nobody's really been close yet unless I missed a guess.

Considering 9/10 times we get excited about upcoming PS3 news, it's a *meh*gaton, I'll keep my hopes in check and assume it's Ty the Tasmanian Tiger 4 or something.

Would there even BE a Genji 3? Does Phil actually like Okamoto and Game Republic THAT much to give them one more crack at this?

Because Okamoto is the real mangod. :kittonwyface

Lol, I know the feeling. Maybe, if we're really lucky they'll have proof the people doing the PS3 port of Lost Planet have discovered how to do pixel shaders or something. Could be worse, the Playstation Underground forums still gets posts from people convinced Home is coming out on certain dates based on the expiration date of homebetatrial.com. ;_;

Yes, I know, the reason they're doing it on a Thursday is probably more likely just because the blog gets more hits on update day and they wanted more visibility for whatever piece of cr.... uh, wonderful new title they're showing off. But we are getting into Home public beta season, and it might be nice if there was a decent beta for devs to look at before GDC.

It's IGN. People are setting themselves up for a disappointment. I will be there Thursday morning for the lulz.

Keep in mind that they did not say "PS3 exclusive," they said "exclusive preview." It's an important distinction.

Honestly, that should be the only reason that any sane person looks forward to this announcement IGN has.

Yes, but the new posts in the PS blog... they don't usually talk about multiplatform stuff, or do they?

Edit: forget about that, they also don't specifically say that the blog posts are related to the preview. So much for actually _reading_ the op. :)

Keeping my hype levels low, anyway. :)

I don't really think the blog updates have anything to do with whatever this is. The mention of the blog updates was in a separate section of the show.

Yeah I know now. I could have stealth edited, I had the time, but I don't like that. :lol

So it's going to be a lame IGN preview and the usual Thursday stuff on the blog. Great.

It could very well be the hands on for GTA4 PS3. I think IGN was the only site to mention they'd be playing it soon.
That would be much, much more interesting than the fat lot of nothing I'm expecting.

Team Soho supposedly shelved it, which is unfortunate since free-roaming Amsterdam would be fucking awesome.

yeeeeaaahhh...... can I get a link to this please.... I was/am looking forward to this game.....thankx a bunch

This is my request, I'm on pacific standard time and I will be at work up til 3pm and I would urge my fellow gaffers to post the article here because that site is blocked at my place of employment.

that is all good night now.

How is it related for a preview ps3 game?

That's for the IGN preview. I was referring to the blog updates: they are said to be different. Oh yeah, do you guys think this is worthy enough for a topic.

Home: Feedback led to changes

GameIndustry.biz said:
Sony's forthcoming PlayStation Home platform has undergone key changes in the last few months as a result of feedback from users currently engaged in its beta test.

The virtual world environment, first shown to the public in 2006, has had significant changes made to Home Square and the entrance points to other areas, as well as other places such as the Theatre.

New screens of a recent build of Home, shown to the audience by Sony Computer Entertainment Europe's John Venables and Ron Festejo in a session at Imagina 08, demonstrated the new look of what will be every user's first view of the world.

What had been an enclosed room with a large window showing a lush view has now been transformed into a serene outside space, with plenty of room for people to interact, and tables with fully functional chess and draughts games included.

Additionally the entrance points to key content areas - the Theatre and the Bowling Alley - have been redesigned so that they're much more recognisable.

The Theatre itself, while retaining the same functionality, has had all of the screening areas moved down to the ground floor, after feedback from users that the 12 second walk to go upstairs took too long.

Venables and Festejo also revealed that it was now possible to take your avatar out onto a balcony from your own apartment, and that there would be "around eight or nine" different apartments available at launch, although no new details on potential pricing options for the premium apartments were available.

One of the premium rooms displayed was called Norwegian Lodge, a large wood cabin, much bigger than the basic apartment, and while all of the existing apartment designs were based on real-world locations, Festejo commented that he could see more fantastic options, such as a room in the clouds, becoming available should there be user demand for it.

PlayStation Home is currently on track for a Spring 2008 launch, and will be free to download for all PlayStation 3 users.

The Imagina 08 conference is taking place in the Grimaldi Forum, Monaco, until February 1.

About the above statement. Kotaku AU thinks the demo will hit the PSN sometime this Spring as well. HOME is coming along a lot faster than I thought it was. Awesome. :D

I'm actually hoping for some solid SOCOM Confrontation footage, but will probably be about virtual foosball knowing IGN and their extremely crappy exclusives.

IGN is getting the exclusive on Resistance 2 when it comes to websites. Expect new images tomorrow.

Maybe the Eye of Judgment expansion? They released info in Japanese a few days ago, but there hasn't been any info released for North America yet. IGN isn't going to get an exclusive preview of a big game.

I'm sad, 3 pages and nobody mentioned NobiNobi Boy? =( No way it's that, but I can dream. I wanna see what that dude has up his sleeves with this one.

Edit: Alternatively, Metal Gear Online, since we have seen so little info on that.

double please
Triple please.
Motorstorm 2, Getaway 3, Eight Days and Africa would make me go crazy in a good way. But I keep my expectations low and expect a SEGA exclusive 'Super Magnetic Neo 2' for the PlayStation 3..

This probably means nothing, but Ryan just mentioned on the KojiPro page that the podcast won't be updating for another 12 hours (it's usually up by now). So this could mean that MGO2 really is what IGN's preview is and he's holding back the podcast until they post the preview so they're able to talk about whatever is mentioned in the preview.
