So i created the 10 GB partition on the Ps3, installed the yellow dog linux on said partition, and holy crap it took like an hour.

So, now Linux is running fine and all, but how do i get back to the xmb? Help!! I tell it to shut off but then it goes in to check all this shit and doesn't shut down or it take way too long, but anyway, now i start the Ps3 again and it goes to linux.

Help!

I have no idea. Try turning the machine off and booting it by pressing the PS button on the controller.

Isn't there an option like "Reset to XMB"? (I remember reading that in the PS3 Linux thread)

Open up Shell and type: boot-game-os



If that doesn't work then u need to fix it first.

Open a shell, type su - and insert the root passowrd.
When you have the prompt again type gedit /sbin/boot-game-os

Modify and save it and close the shell.
