PC friend. I just got the latest humble bundle and for $5 I got 6 freaking amazing games!!! These would even run fairly well on my laptop.
You can't beat a deal like that.
You can't beat a deal like that.
I'm not disagreeing with anything you said, but counter-strike is also on consoles and has been since the og Xbox era and carried into the 360 era.
So you are saying that I should go from free infrastructure to paying for it? Just to get one or two games? I can buy more than two games for the fee for PS+ per year. So what is the point?
The thing is that I am not even buying that many games. The last game a I bought was EUIV. Since then I have spend around 150h just playing that game.
Unfortunately, I've never disassembled or assembled any electronics.
Anyways, PCs depreciate fast and there are no "next gen"meaning jaw-dropping AAA [/spolier] PC games available. Won't be until the Oculus Rift hits. Spending money on a gaming PC right now is premature.
Can't disagree more with this. Any game that has been released cross-platform will look much better on PC at 1080p or above and some AA (I have a 1440p monitor and my mid-2013, sub-2k PC blows both my next-gen consoles out of the water)
Yeah, it sucks to pay for online infrastructure but xbox live was a huge success despite free psn. People voted with their wallets and said it's worth it.
I said at least one or two games you like. Maybe you'd like more. Why don't you take a look at last year's ps+ games and tell me how many of those are appealing to you?

I will repeat what I said: Wait until the OR hits or until a you absolutely must play some killer PS4 game.
If you can't wait, the PS4 will devalue slower and is the better purchase right now.
If you decide to go for PS4 + TV, look up a good TV with low input lag. May not be as cheap as you were planning to go.
God this bothers the hell out of me, and I'm going to say this every single time someone brings up console exclusivity, PC exclusives are not the same as console exclusives. Not by a long shot. PC "exclusives" are most of the time games that are simply not possible on console to fundamental flaws in design. The vast majority of indie games only ever come out on PC because it is a free platform and so much easier to develop for. Any game that requires either extreme precision, (i.e. counter-strike,) complex controls, (i.e. Starcraft,) an unconventional business model (World of Warcraft,) a lot of power to be played properly (Virtual Reality,) a free distribution method (most indie betas,) or probably many other things, the list goes on, will be PC "exclusive" unless there is a miracle in development (corporate moneyhats.) On the flip side almost every single console exclusive game ever made was exclusive to it's console because either A) The game was developed by a first party (or second party, I guess,) or it was made by a third party but they were paid by the platform holder to only be on one platform.
I find it extremely difficult to believe that out of the hundreds of great games that are only on PC, you are interested in so few of them that the 6 big name exclusives on PS4 are significantly more appealing, but hey, to each his own.
In the meantime, what compelling "next-gen" PC games are you going to be playing?
On the PS, we had 3 or 4 exclusives last gen.
over a 5 year period, the PC is the cheaper option if you play online and buy multiple games per year, given steam sales and online play is not behind a pay wall.PC -

Lots of the benefits console users put forward aren't exclusive to their systems, such as comfy couch gaming (easy to do this on PC). The only real reasons to go PS4 are:
Lower cost
Ease of set up use
PS4 Exclusives
If any of the above three are essential to you, then go Ps4. If not, then look into PC.
Get a ps4, there is no exclusive pc developer even close to naughty dog. Any multiplatform game on pc will also be on ps4
One more thing, what $200 GPU that's better than ps4 would work with that off the shelf HP machine. (No swapped out components like power supplies needed)

I looked at what the PC offered and found that, of the genres that I enjoy, it offered nothing in the way of exclusives and was basically just a redundant console.
Nvidia cards are better for trouble free PC gaming from my experience. I guess they are more expensive for a reason.
Midrange PC as seen by PC gamers != Midrange PC seen by others.
The problem is, if you want to achieve 1080p/60 with lower end PCs, you have to turn down settings. This is like eating pasta when you know you could be eating steaks. On consoles, it's a lot easier to ignore the idea of eating steaks. Believe me I know since I've spent $800 on a new GPU + PSU a couple of weeks ago because of that reason. Before the upgrade, I could play games fine at 1440p but with gimped settings. It's weird but I don't have that problem with console games even if they aren't up to par with PC games.
It's all about psychology.
The difference is that I didn't pay 1000€ for my PS3. I paid 1000€ for my PC because I wanted to guarantee that I could play everything maxed out. But PC optimization is just so poor that it didn't happen. Maybe I was naive. That's why I'm warning the OP.
I paid 300€ for my PS3 ( at the time) and I got the guarantee that all games were gonna work for me just like they work for everyone else. I don't care that the games are 720p with lower framerates because that's how the game is and I know what I'm paying for.
I paid 1000€ for my PC and I have some games that are fucking unplayable. Literally unplayable or unplayable because they cause so much troubles with my PC.
It's Sawyer.Please elaborate.
sub 2k? You say that like it's cheapPS4 is only $400...no doubt your PC is more powerful. Nobody said otherwise. Not sure how it contradicts what I've been saying...
In a year. a sub-2k PC will be more powerful and run newly released VR games better.

i have 3 problems with the PC gaming
- there are less exclusives games that i personaly like.
- i do not know how to play using a keyboard + Mouse " i tried "
- cheating
i can handle the cheating part. because i can just simply login to different server. i also somehow can handle the less exclusives because i do not buy more than 6 games per year + or - a few, and around 4 of them are multiplatform games.
but i cant for the life of me play COD or BF with a keyboard and mouse. i need my controller. mapping a controller doesnt work well with me.
however, there are good positives about PC gaming
- Superior graphics.
- you wont lose the games you bought if you upgrade your hardware. something really pissed me off while upgrading from PS3 to PS4 but i had to live with.
i want to be a PC gamer. i just simply can't

You should give mouse and keyboard another chance
it's like riding a bike once you get the hang of it it quickly becomes second nature and feels familiar
Start with a game with few hotkeys (a singleplayer fps like half life 2 where all you have to do is move, jump, reload, shoot , press the use key and maybe crouch ) and work your way up from there to games with more keybindings
eye hand coordination from the mouse will come automatically (and feel rewarding as you learn it) over time
I started on the arrow keys + numpad for shooters in the 90s and moving to wasd was daunting for me but when I finally changed it it took me less than a day before it was second nature.
In mmos I added one keybinding at a time (instead of clicking my spells) every few days and after a while I was playing with 32 keybindings worth of hotkeys and shift and control modifiers, and once you do that you get used to how fast and efficient it is and it is impossible to go back to clicking as clicking now feels alien and cumbersome and akward.
It's the same to getting used to mouse aim, once you are familiar with it becomes your goto way of controlling games, it's like learning to walk after crawling, you just don't want to waddle around on your knees anymore after you get past that wobbly knees phase
You know how your mom/grandfather or w/e doesn't know what buttons to press on a controller or how to work the analog sticks, you'd tell them the same thing: just give it some time.
You invest some effort and you get rewarded in spades
Those PC exclusives(most of them anyway) aren't exclusive because they can't be done, but because they would flop on consoles, they would drown amongst every other title out thereGod this bothers the hell out of me, and I'm going to say this every single time someone brings up console exclusivity, PC exclusives are not the same as console exclusives. You can still be precise with analog sticks, the difference is in twitch shooters. Look at Titanfall for example. Now I haven't played it on the Xbox One, but on the PC it's fast and it's twitchy. Analog sticks are not good for twitchy, but for games like battlefield, they're fine. Also, for games with micro managing analogs are hard to use and to be precise, another twitch factor.
Haha. Some of you "PC" guys are an insufferable lot.
you can, it's called developing a knack for it. Just like trying to get solid headshots on counter-strike, you have to develop that knack. Analog sticks won't make it impossible. But for twitching, while it could be done on an analog stick with a high sensitivity, analogs are more for..yes fast (not twitch) and smooth movements. Everyone on a console is fine but the games will play slower.
As for me, I currently have a PS4 and a Wii U.
Ignoring the fact we won't be getting those till next year at the absolute earliest. lolIf you don't get a PS4, you'll miss out on Final Fantasy XV and Kingdom Hearts III.
