24% increase (25 - 1 = 24). But yes, I get what you are saying.
What the fuck
24% increase (25 - 1 = 24). But yes, I get what you are saying.
Is this a recent pic?
Everybody knows Sony is market leader.
The real news is that 24% increase for Microsoft, wow.
while Microsoft rose 1% to 25%.
Does this forum software have a feature to ban a user from ever doing math again?24% increase (25 - 1 = 24). But yes, I get what you are saying.
How so?Not 100% what conversion rates Pier is using.
His numbers would suggest 27.6bn usd
I have 24.9 and ZhugeEX is something similar
I might be dumb but would have thought that 46% would have been of 60bn so 0.46*60 = 27.6How so?
But Phill said PlayStation and Nintendo aren’t their competition….1% gain in hardware release year, peak Gamepass with Halo Infinite and Forza Horizon.
Guess MS buying AB is more of a necessity than I realized.
Paradigm shifts start small, this is why you need to spot these things early to adapt.
As expected but unless Sony has done something drastic, it won't look like this by 2024. MS will have completely closed the gap or taken the lead thanks to the Bethesda and Activision purchases.
At this point, there's little reason for Sony to maintain cross gen for single player games after Ragnarok.
Sony are the leader in subscriptions, MTX etc. That is obviously very dependent on being most gamers ‘go to’ console. That is why Sony heavily partner with Fortnite, FIFA, COD etc. What?
I'm hearing how things will shift dramatically ever since Phil is head of Xbox.As expected but unless Sony has done something drastic, it won't look like this by 2024.
Hmm, it probably doesn't actually count Activision. That deal isn't yet closed. That being said Activision and Bethesda represent a good chuck of those revenues/profits
Oh gotcha.I might be dumb but would have thought that 46% would have been of 60bn so 0.46*60 = 27.6
Wondering if the disconnect is physical game sales where the platform holders might be only including their revenue cut. This estimate might include the whole revenue.Oh gotcha.
Yeah their number seems high in general. That $60 billion is higher than Sony's console business revenue report + Nintendo's entire revenue + Xbox's entire revenue reported which is 55.5 billion or so.. and XBox's revenue includes PC. Nintendo's revenue also includes some non-console business. So the actual "Console" business is something below 55.5 billion.
I think their percentage is still pretty spot on, but honestly not sure where they really get that full $60 billion from when it's higher than the actual company's reporting by quite a bit.
They are actually BEHIND the PS4 launch aligned. What record you talking about?I'm hearing how things will shift dramatically ever since Phil is head of Xbox.
Meanwhile PlayStation keeps breaking all their annual record numbers every year.
And Xbox keeps breaking their annual revenue records as well, every year.I'm hearing how things will shift dramatically ever since Phil is head of Xbox.

It's possible. Taking Activision revenue in as their own will certainly be a boost to total revenue under MS' accounting. Zenimax was estimated at under 500 million in revenue a year so that's sort of a non issue, and then of course NOT selling games as a result of making them exclusive and putting them on a sub service ...As expected but unless Sony has done something drastic, it won't look like this by 2024. MS will have completely closed the gap or taken the lead thanks to the Bethesda and Activision purchases.

Not as much as you think. So this doesn't include sales in the PC space? I wonder what sort of impact owning Activision will have on the numbers, proves there is no reason for the purchase not be approved.
Source: wishful thinking. That is not how this thing works out. MS advantage will disappear in 1-2 years from now. Right now, PS4 is saving their asses. Once that disappears, MS would be the number 1 in the revenue generated, once activision deal is done.
Remember in 2023-2024, MS will have massive line up of games, plus upcoming unannounced bethesda games. Not to mention they will own tons of games which generates massive amount of money from MTX.
I’ve seen worse theories on neogaf this one makes some sense!Sony are the leader in subscriptions, MTX etc. That is obviously very dependent on being most gamers ‘go to’ console. That is why Sony heavily partner with Fortnite, FIFA, COD etc.
If people start to turn to other systems because they are available and still decide to play those games, that chunk of change ends up in Microsoft or Nintendo’s pockets.
Sony need to keep people in the PlayStation ecosystem. They stand to lose the most the more the chip shortage continues as they’ll fall further and further behind their internal projections pre-pandemic. This is why Sony have made games cross gen so that people continue to use and buy games on PS4, and keep their MTX purchases through the PlayStation Store.
I didn't think any number which is why I said "I wonder"Not as much as you think.
Ask activision mtx revenue. Or Blizzard mtx revenue. Not to mention, playstation will lose the revenue which the ps4 generates, while MS can generate money from PC, which compensates the hardware difference. Then you add the mtx which MS games has on xbox and steam.Source: wishful thinking.
Good thing for Sony then the biggest titles from Activision and Blizzard aren't leaving.Ask activision mtx revenue. Or Blizzard mtx revenue. Not to mention, playstation will lose the revenue which the ps4 generates, while MS can generate money from PC, which compensates the hardware difference. Then you add the mtx which MS games has on xbox and steam.
Sony will get 30%, while MS will get 70%. In this case, MS would be so happy for Sony to have these games, as that will generate alot of money for them. Playstation+xbox+pc is alot of revenue for MS. Much better than making it exclusive. Considering activision made around $5b from mtx sales.Good thing for Sony then the biggest titles from Activision and Blizzard aren't leaving.

Not lately. He got muzzled by his bosses while they’re sweating out approval.Oh wait never mind Phil talks a lot.
Sony are also aggressively going after the PC market and you can bet their service games will all get PC launches. I’d be surprised if they didn’t launch day and date on PC to be honest.
we already know jade raymonds gaaS is day 1 PC
Indeed. I’m also astonished that Dreams isn’t on PC yet.
Or multiplayer?
Why shackle a GAAS title to 2013 hardware when they can last 5+, 10+ years?
Oh yeah! I did noticed the lack of “phil says” threads! Not lately. He got muzzled by his bosses while they’re sweating out approval.
That is just some one who wants more money. He got mocked here.the lawsuits from the shareholders from Activision…
Everybody knows Sony is market leader.
The real news is that 24% increase for Microsoft, wow.
Was just one? I though it was more… I must be confusing things. That is just some one who wants more money. He got mocked here.
Are they aggressively going after PC? It sure doesn't feel that way. One to two PC ports that come years after the PS4 version feel anything but aggressive. Microsoft is going aggressively after PC. Releasing day and date games on PC is what aggressively going after PC looks like. Microsoft's last AAA game - Halo Infinite - launched day and date on PC. Sony's last AAA game - Horizon Zero Dawn 2 - is nowhere to be seen on PC. In fact, we only just got the first game on PC not too long ago. That's not aggressive. That's table scraps.Sony are also aggressively going after the PC market and you can bet their service games will all get PC launches. I’d be surprised if they didn’t launch day and date on PC to be honest.
What tangible benefit does Factions have to being locked to PS4 and PS5? Service games need a wide net for buzz, player numbers and to grow the audience.
Twisted Metal
Factions
Haven’s games
Guerilla’s MP game.
Firewalk’s MP game.
Deviation’s MP game.
They should all launch on PC day and date with robust season plans ready to go.
They were the market leader for last gen. But technicaly there are more current gen Xbox players via console, cloud and PC.
It actually is. There isnt some arbitrary rule that says only console sales count. That’s not how that works. lmao.
So they are everywhere? Like rats? They were the market leader for last gen. But technicaly there are more current gen Xbox players via console, cloud and PC.
You're both wrong. It's Switch. That's the market leaderIt actually is. There isnt some arbitrary rule that says only console sales count.
Their record so far is 4 games released several years aftter their original PS games. I wouldn't call this aggresive or something that would indicate day one PC releases.Sony are also aggressively going after the PC market and you can bet their service games will all get PC launches. I’d be surprised if they didn’t launch day and date on PC to be honest.
In PC 30% of the revenue generated by the game goes to Valve plus Sony also loses the PS Plus revenue for the multiplayer plus games being exclusive help to sell consoles, which generate most of Sony's money mostly thanks to the 3rd party games for the console. Plus these games are also good content to give them on Plus or Now.What tangible benefit does Factions have to being locked to PS4 and PS5? Service games need a wide net for buzz, player numbers and to grow the audience.

here is the threadWas just one? I though it was more… I must be confusing things.
Well, Warzone and Overwatch will stay for sure. Sony generates a lot of revenue from MTX on PS4 (with 110m+ userbase) from the games like COD, GTA, Fortnite etc.Good thing for Sony then the biggest titles from Activision and Blizzard aren't leaving.

Maybe they're making moves to be aggressive in the PC space, but they're not there yet. Indicators are not actions. Three year old ports ain't it. Where is my HZD2 on PC? Where is the Uncharted 4 game promised that just released on PS5? Where is GT7? Nowhere to be seen. They bought one of the best PC port studios in the world in Nixxes. That is a huge indicator of their intent.
I never said they were, I said there are more current gen xbox players. You're both wrong. It's Switch. That's the market leader
