I got monday a 10hour flight and I'm planning to see the movies for the first time ever. Now the question is in which order should I watch it because I get different responds from friends.. :/

IV -> V -> VI

Although watching three movies in a row, for the first time, on a plane isn't exactly ideal.

Prequels first. That's how I watched them for the first time.

It works because it's the correct order and the originals are better and you watch them last.

The story is obviously 1-2-3-4-5-6 so that's how you should watch it. Anyone who says otherwise only does because that's how they saw it.

1,2,3,4,5,6
it should do nothing to hamper your enjoyment of the series (which as whole isnt super amazing imo)

no that's completely wrong. If he never saw them no way he should watch them 1-2-3-4-5-6
It would totally ruin 4,5 and 6, too many spoilers dude.

watching it like that will rob you of a few pretty big reveals.

I'd go IV - V - VI then I - II - III. like they were filmed

It doesn't really spoil a big reveal. It reveals it differently. You react with the character. Besides, who these days doesn't know THAT reveal?

The only way that makes any sense:

Star Wars -> The Empire Strikes Back -> Return of The Jedi

I mean it's not like you'd watch the last film first!

In my world, there are no prequels.

No, the prequels were constructed with the assumption that the audiences had seen IV, V, and VI already. It would ruin suprises, and it would most likely put off OP from watching the good trilogy.

Watch IV,V,VI, and then if you have a morbid sense of curiosity watch I, II, and III.

Assuming he knows NOTHING of these spoilers than yeah. I never watched Star Wars and knew all that stuff just from it being pretty much common knowledge.

Star Wars Christmas Special covers all of the arcs perfectly well. Just watch that instead of watching boring 6 movies

it sort of makes sense to watch the prequels first nowadays, get the bad out of the way (granted 6 is pretty bad too, but no where near the same level) seems as the big plot twist of the originals is pretty well known.

The Red Letter Media reviews of the prequels would be a far better use of time than actually watching the prequels.

I don't know nothing but absolutely nothing of Star wars that's why I'm asking but ok I will watch IV - V - VI and if I liked it I will watch I - II - III :)

4-5-6 and then the prequels, what the hell guys?

They're literally called "prequels." They were made under the assumption that you saw the originals first.

If Lucas ever intended you to watch the prequel trilogy first he would have started with episode 1.

The prequels aren't even that bad, I enjoyed them alot. I'd say just watch those first then watch the originals afterwards.

Always consume parts of a series in order of release... Chronologically per the story makes no sense. Prequels are written informed by prior releases.

I'd like to see you guys to tell people to watch it 4-5-6-1-2-3-7-8-9

Go on, do it.

The guy who wrote it literally intended it to be 1-6 and I see no reason why you do otherwise apart from "ow my childhood /cry".
