INCEPTION |OT| Movie of the Forever

Well, I just finished my third movie in my Nolan marathon (I've watched Following, Memento, and Insomnia) and it turns out that the only Nolan film I had not watched before was Following - just watched Insomnia and I remembered it.

I thought I had seen it before. Anyway, I'll probably finish with BB, Prestige, and TDK tomorrow. I'm also trying to refresh my memory of the Toy Story movies before TS3 comes out.

So many good movies coming out lately, it's awesome.

Due to the lack of real info up until about 5 months prior to the film came out, I wasn't really "FEELING IT" for the same amount of time that I did whne TDK was coming out.

when they did that Comic-Con with all those people rampaging the streets in Joker make-up, a fucking year before the film came out? Shit was on.

the viral marketing for TDK was also fucking tremendous. Inception is no where near on the level of TDK in that department.

You also have to remember that TDK's viral marketing worked because you had a whole lot more Batman fans than you do Nolan fans. I really don't think we would have solved a lot of those TDK viral puzzles in time with our man power :lol

the pfister gliding city shots, perhaps even over warmer euro locations too, stand for any honest hype I have. the assembled cast is typically distinguished and intelligent though his direction generally straitjackets them all to his icy sensibility.

Nolan's movies have propulsion, and some thematic intrigue, if not an engagement.. (already seeing much pop philosphizing on the 'nature' of dreams here) but his complete slack for story rhythm and editing is a real let down, yes, from all his great trailers since 2005. I'll see it but I'm far from a true believer sorry.

Why do you talk like this? No one is looking for your approval, not least Nolan.

Holy shit at that first banner with them watching the city fold up. Jesus.

I am so hyped for this movie. It is right behind Toy Story 3 for my most anticipated movie this summer.

Cool thing though, my brother was the stand in for Cilian Murphy on this film. So whenever it is the back of Cilian Murphy it might be my brother. So gotta go support my bro in whatever work he can get.

Does Ken Wantanabe not have that big of a part within Inception? He's literally had like one millisecond of face time in all of the film's advertisements combined :lol

He had a big presence in the International trailer.

He dies 20 mins into the movie, and then Liam Neeson shows up.

Just searched:

Doodlebug (1997)
Following (1998)
Memento (2000)

Insomnia (2002)
Cinema16: British Short Films (2003)
Batman Begins (2005)
The Prestige (2006)
The Dark Knight (2008)

(Doodlebug is a 3-minute short, while Cinema16 was a collection which included Doodlebug.)

The bolded are available to stream on Netflix. Seriously? That's it!? I really want to do a full Nolan marathon.

I like Liam Neeson but I was so disappointed to see how small Watanabe's role was in Begins :lol

Especially after his performance in Last Samurai. Now I hope he's more major in Inception. Letters from Iwo Jima was boss.

With Hallucinogenic "toys" that allow kids to experience the dreams in Inception for themselves!

ha ha what? give us a kiss

anyway all this cg 'marvel' over carpet rolling a city is fun and all, though i'm sticking with Pfister's enveloping cityscapes as most evocative of Nolan's blather on the mingling between dreams and reality. his lens is nicely capturing the large scale puzzles across real world architecture. the first shot from this spot caught me eye. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Y73QQULSfZA
cinematographer oscar nod(and loss) likely

Made a wallpaper of one of the banner posters.

They've got official wallpapers up on the site now under Menu > Downloads.

Looks sweet, though.

Caught my first glimpse of this movie before Iron Man 2. I was blown away.

Goddamn can't wait for this to come out, I hope it doesn't disappoint.

It was the same French poster that was released online earlier. I suppose that's one of many billboards.
Hope so.

Poor Wally :( Guy does amazing work and goes unappreciated.

when did the first Inception TV spots start showing up? During LOST? Anyways, I specifically remembered one and was asking around for it in the other thread, well it FINALLY has appeared online as a UK TV Spot. This definitely the exact same one. Check it out:

EDIT: Yep, during lost. This was my comment: http://www.neogaf.com/forum/showpost.php?p=21441863&postcount=2681

that second Inception TV spot that aired during LOST was new, right? Not one of the four previously known. Can anyone find it?

It started with a bird eye shot of buildings, kind of looked like the Slumdog Millionaire shot towards the beginning.
:lol
