:lol

He has one great movie, one good movie, and then the cheese fests that are TDK and BB. How can he be Kubrick status when he's not even George Lucas status

George Lucas status is unattainable by almost all of Hollywood to be honest.

Even Cameron, the new tech-pusher, won't be able to obtain it. That doesn't mean Lucas' films are better. I'll take any of Nolan's films (with the exception of Prestige and Insomnia) over the majority of Lucas' films (with the exception of ESB).

I'm guessing great=Memento, good=Insomnia. What about Following and Prestige? :P

Great=Memento
Good=Prestige

I thought Insomnia was alright; some people bitch about it being a horrible remake but I had no problem with it. Haven't seen Following

And yes, I think TDK was awesome but it's cheesy as fuck

Kubrick?

Don't even know how to address that.

Its just some fanboy drivel - ignore it. The guy starts out with "I dont want to generate unrealistic expecations" and then proceeeds to follow it up with uber hyperbole :lol

Sorry, but all the names mentioned before have been film trendsetters during at least one point during their career. Nolan hasn't.

Nolan is more of a follower, not a trendsetter. At least based on his films so far. And I dont think Inception will change that based on his comments about it.

this is just too much. I'm going to freeze myself in time. I won't be able to take the following weeks.

Yeah, I felt dirty watching it. Like I shouldn't have seen it. :lol

It's wild to think, if you add up all the footage we've seen it's no more than 3 minutes out of 148 minute film.

mind = (will be) blown.

I imagined Nolan going: "Son, I am disappoint..."
but then again, there's the chance that I might die, before i watch this movie. And so, I had to watch it!

Okay, after this shit comes out on Blu-ray, we should organize a Nolan-GAF watch or something and watch this together

someone from Nolan Fans spoke with someone that saw the film. Not major spoilers, but if you want to go in clean then don't read. She basically explains a device in the film. No character/plot spoilers.

I’ve had the privilege in having a wonderful discussion with a person who has seen the film. She works for one of the magazine companies, and had an exclusive insight on what the movie is about. Although, she remained quiet, she did explain some important and cool concepts.

The spinning top is represented in having a great significance in the film, but isn’t really utilized in the advertisement strategies. What role does it have? The spinning top is a way to tell which stage of a dream that a person is in. As revealed in the Mind Crime game, there are three types of dream world within a mind, with each having different laws of physics. For example, time goes slower in level one than in level three. Level 3 is most like the reality; therefore, mind theft can occur easily through this stage of access. However, a person can train to convolute his state of mind, and can enable himself to dream only in Level 1, where it’s much more difficult. One can “arm” his mind.

It’s interesting how Nolan treats the settings of our mind like a software program. Like the cybercrime world, the art of extraction has become a phenomenon in Inception’s world.

I can't believe I'm saying this, but this is the first time I'm keeping myself spoiler-free over a movie.

So what you're saying is that you seek out spoilers for every other movie you've ever seen?

Theres gonna be some new footage from the Guys' Choice Awards tonight on Spike. Nolan, JGL and DiCaprio will be accepting an award for most anticipated film.

Mind Heist is just fucking epic.

Really looking forward to this movie's soundtrack.

I've watched the trailer so many times I can recite every line of dialogue matched up with when it appears in the trailer by listening to that track :lol

Haven't gone through this thread for a few weeks are you guys on a media blackout or are you still watching footage? :lol

I want to go in fresh so i'm sticking to my blackout which is working well as i don't watch TV so i won't even be spoiled by adverts.

Anyway BFI IMAX ticket sales must be starting soon surely?

That's not on the soundtrack and not by Zimmer. It was created specifically for the Inception trailer by Zack Hemsey.

Yes, I know. I can read. =P

Disappointed it's a trailer-only piece though. Was hoping for DUN....DUN....DUN...DUN during the film.

He was talking from a cinematography perspective. TDK was hardly the most incredibly shot movie ever.

EDIT: n/m, he was talking about the movie. Well, Nolan has already topped TDK 3 times, so...

I just watched the Prestige again, definitely my favorite Nolan movie. So brilliant. If this ranks up there ill proclaim Nolan king.

Don't often watch movies in theaters, but I'm definitely going to IMAX for this one. Can't freaking wait. :D

I dunno if I'd even want to see an advance screening. I mean, seeing Inception and not being able to talk about it? God, torture.
