Incoming PSN flash sale (Alien: Isolation - The Collection $14.79)

Is this 60 thing a joke? Just booted it up and it runs like ass.

Decent, but not proper wide-screen and it's a little janky. Also invert controls turned on by default, smh lol.

No platinum either for those that care about that.

Star wars had big drops for me in specific locations. When no ships were on screen it was smooth and looked great cause of the IQ, but when a few ships were on screen it started to stutter the whole time til they were off screen. Ruined the IQ and smoothness for me.

Whatever they are doing in the game doesn't work. WIth this IQ, a butter smooth image would be great. I wouldn't be surprised if other ps2 games had issues. Sony should feel ashamed if they are like that. It's really disheartening.

damnit bought bully day 1

fell for neogaf's 60 FPS hype in the launch thread

Yeah. Fell hard for that. Hard. I only played it for a few hours. Cannot take the PS2 visuals and frame-rate seriously. Should've waited.

I always wanted to play Bully, I felt cheated by GAF's hype (one of the rare moments), but the price of admission at this sale is pretty decent.

EVERYBODY BUY TEARAWAY IF YOU HAVE NOT PLAYED IT ALREADY

I'm gonna need more convincing than this because it looks like one of those really irritating games that just tries to shoe-horn as many controller features as it can into the game without really giving a shit as to what the effect on the gameplay is.

Yeah it must be the drops but jeez they are rough.

That emulator needs some work done on it because I'll be damned if this PS4 can't emulate a PS2 game better than this.

Wonder if it's something Sony can improve with retroactive performance improvements.

Doubtful, they really fucked up ps2 on ps4. People really wanteevt it then they drop with no cross buy, higher prices and stuttering frames. Guess I'll skip those games.

Max Payne and other games should just get pc ports. Ps2 versions are fine for nostalgia and some are fun port but makes little sense not to have pc versions.

Going to hold off on a hr, beyond bundle.

Man this sale IS good. Got Killzone but didn't realize Tearaway is also on sale, for 8 bucks at that! Great deals.

I'm thinking Rogue Galaxy, The Order, and Metro. I'm kinda thinking about switching out one of the last two for Alien though.

Decisions will have to be made.

Metro is way better than the order. It's like nba versus 7 year olds.

Still trying to do my killess run, I can stomach it in metro, can even stomach replaying missions
Most games I dont.

Metro also had pretty good trophies imo

I didn't even go for trophies in the order cause its really a one play kind of game since the story is more interesting than the level design, which isn't saying much.

How's Fat Princess Adventures single player? I don't have any friends to play it with.

Also both games have been on PS+, but if you haven't played them I strongly recommend Dust: An Elysian Tail and Valiant Hearts: The Great War. Dust's artstyle can be a little offputting but if you can get past that it's a great action game. Valiant Hearts uses Ubiart (Rayman Legends engine) and looks beautiful. It plays like a modern adventure game but with much more gameplay than something like Everybody's Gone to the Rapture. It has a very powerful story and my favorite
and depressing
ending of any game this gen.

Ended up getting Max Payne 3 and Xcom Enemy within for around $15. Not to bad all things considered, I was hoping for some more stuff to catch my eye though.

That Tearaway price though. My patience rewards me.

Also a question on Fat Princess Adventures, the campaign looks a bit like Magicka, but is there an online gameplay around stealing the princesses like the other games?

How's Metro Redux PS4 conpared to PC? I mean PC will undoubtedly a better experience on a good rig but if the PS4 version is 60fps with good comparable graphics and the controls are good, I might just double dip.

EDIT: Alternatively, what PC settings are the PS4 version roughly equivalent to? Medium? High? AA? Max tesselation? I already own the game on Steam, so if I can get a comparable performance out of my computer I guess there's no reason to buy it again here. That's like 2 whole DOA5 costumes!

Dude, Max Payne first came out on PC :P

It's even on Steam.

Considering to get Beyond on PS4, as well as Sleeping Dogs Definitive and The Order. Are they worth it? Heard pretty bad things about The Order and Beyond. Also, as a german PS4 user, getting Sleeping Dogs Definitive would be the best way to play this uncut. Never managed to get it in all those years.

This sale in general is pretty hilarious to me, as a lot of the games on sale never came out here or were outright banned, like Sleeping Dogs uncut, Wolfenstein: New Order uncut, Wolfenstein 3D, The Warriors, Manhunt HD, Dead Island, The Mark of Kri (although that one came out after all here later). Should be called the "Banned in Germany" sale.

so glad my PS2 copy remains minty, sealed & stowed away.

Sleeping Dogs is great.

The Order is worth it for the graphics I'd say. It really does look wonderful.

Beyond is... it depends if you want to experience it seriously or like a cheesy movie. Taken seriously, I don't like it very much. Watched for fun in a good youtube LP like Two Best Friends it can be a great time.

I'll second this - I love colorful platformers, and I usually don't mind gimmicky gameplay, but I don't really like the DS4's Touch Pad, especially if I have to use it in conjunction with the sticks or face buttons. The trailer on PSN actually turned me off on the game a bit.

I don't think Tearaway Unfolded's controller gimmicks were an issue at all. I actually liked them quite a bit. The problems I had were with the content (felt unnecessarily bloated) and the platforming mechanics felt a bit off. For the price in this sale, it is still very much so worth it though.

No its like one of those game that acknowledges these are weird gimmicks then puts them in the context of the world and story. I will say that if you are "I only care about gameplay" person you ont get much out of it. But it has an insanely unique story and one of the best third acts of any game Ive ever played.
