| 3.5 Quick Note about Formatting |
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
If you want to suggest a game that has recently released or that looks interesting, but hasnt released yet, please follow the following formatting structure so the post is picked up by Toma-Bot:
Released games:
TITLE - PRICE (PLAT)
LINK
DESCRIPTION TEXT
Not yet released games:
TITLE - PLAT
LINK
DESCRIPTION TEXT
Copy the appropriate content and add the proper information for the black writing. Please only include 1 link and 1 image. I tried making it a bit failsafe, so it should be able to deal with 2 links or images as well, but 1 is safer.
If the game is free, then put "Free" as the price, otherwise please use $ or € for the price. You can also include more than one game per post (like the Screenshot saturday posts), but please stick to the above format for every entry.
If someone posts a non-proper formatted post, I'd appreciate if you could repost the game with the same info in the proper format.
directlink_BwSTmbNCEAEbyxa.png%3Alarge.png
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=33840
Very interesting concept for a cooperative experience. You click on visual patterns to discover the behaviour of the world and then little by little shape that planet into your own tool box of sounds and patterns. Cute if you play it with yourself, but I was lucky enough to try it with a random stranger online, and it really manages to share that small piece of.. wonder you have with working with a complete stranger to achieve a similar goal. Very neat little experimental game..
3. Hop and Slide - Free (PC)
http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum-dare-30/?action=preview&uid=3479
This is brilliant. Absolutely brilliant. Short and very imaginative puzzle exploration game. I dont want to spoil too much, but try this, seriously. If you need a hint on how to play, check the LD page: http://www.ludumdare.com/compo/ludum...eview&uid=3479
3. Bear Hero - Free early version (PC)
bair10.gif
http://forums.tigsource.com/index.php?topic=41038.0
Very good stuff. Currently still in early version, so it has some polish/repetition/content issues, but its a very challenging and charming action roguelike. The more I played it, the more it grew on me, from the charming way to decide your character (by picking picture cards) to the enemy design and actual combat. I see a ton of promise in this one.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

5. Too many games on rank 5, but ALL are worth checking out. I highly suggest going through some of these as well.
Hangeki (Awesome Space Invaders Clone), Meowgical Tower (Adorable Mini-Zelda-style Adventure), 80 Days & Sorcery (Engaging interactive adventures on mobile), Rex Rocket (Oldschool platforming), Gang Beasts (Multiplayer Brawl & Laugh 'em up), Mind: Path to Thalamus (Very pretty narrative interactive experience), Infinity Wars (accessible F2P Collectible Card Game), Mountain (Be one)

See No Evil
Copy Kitty
Words For Evil
Dex
Cubus Puram
Five Nights at Freddys

I noticed there are a few noteworthy, and relatively unknown, projects that deserve a shoutout here because I feel that they share a common interest with the people in this thread. I talked to the guy from Pixabyte and MetaVendetta and both are very enthusiastic about the things they love and figured you might appreciate the shoutout as well. If you enjoy anything here or want to give feedback, let these guys know via their websites or also here in this thread. If you appreciate something, let people know. A heads up can sometimes very valuable.

The whole premise sounds so awesomely unique. I am really, really intrigued by it,but apparently its still in Beta and I couldnt find any info how much content it has atm, and couldnt figure out whether it might be worth the price.
If you check it out, please share some impressions.

Same to you!

I am sharing impressions on everything I am touching here =P

Just not 100% sure I can justify the money for an adventure game where I dont even know how long it is atm. If someone finds any info on that, let me know.

I usually play them but it's after the thread has moved on :p Plus there are too many games to play XD

You can still post some impressions on the games from older threads here too. Its still neat to discuss about any previous games we were playing. Plus there are probably plenty of lurkers who havent checked out all the games from previous months either, so posting some more impressions for those games would be neat in any case.

I wouldnt mind another reason to talk about the Impulse overlord!

Toma, can you move Silence of the Sleep to recently released. Also, the blurb somehow got removed so here it is:

Silence of the Sleep is a 2D adventure/psychological horror game. You play as someone who "throws himself into a blackness" to commit suicide, but wakes up in an abstract world with no memory of his life before. Solve puzzles, avoid bizarre creatures, and discover the reason for your journey.

Also, I noticed that you have a couple Early Access games (e.g., Verde Station, The Masterplan) under the recently released section. Does Early Access count as released?

Yea, we feature games 2 times in the released section.

2. Full Release

Anyone playing Ethan Carter?

I thought The Vanishing of Ethan Carter was a visually gorgeous game with a wonderfully eerie atmosphere. The soundtrack does a great job of building suspense, and I often found myself expecting to be scared (as opposed to actually being scared, if that makes sense). The storytelling and gameplay are quite creative, but I won't go into detail because I think part of the fun is discovering for the first time how the investigations work. This is more of a story-driven game, so the puzzles are pretty short and straightforward for the most part. My only complaint would be that this game is pretty short (4-5 hours) and that there isn't much replayability, but overall I enjoyed it a lot.

yay! Mountain deserved more love, in fact a lot of other games deserved more love!

I like abstract games, but Mountain looks more like a really gorgeous wallpaper than a game.

It may be a bit spoilerish
When I bought it I also was under the impression it was just a "screensaver" but then I discovered that you can play music and playing certain melodies make some things happens. Later I discovered that there is a certain melody that unlocks one more octave to you play, so there must be more to that screensaver.

You also can get killed.

In the end Mountain has the meaning you want it to have, and as well for some people it may have no meaning.

Helping to get to page 2.

My first impression this month, I'll try to get to more but isaac, spelunky, and shadows of mordor are consuming me lol.

I played Antbassador a little while ago and found it cute but short and frustrating. The controls are very hard, which may be the point of the game, but after you get them down or get lucky it only takes like 15 minutes to go through if I remember right. Still not bad for a ludum dare/ prototype if your into those hard control games like octodad/surgeon simulator but definitely needs a lot more fleshing out.

Also, I was quite surprised by last months game. There werent many heavy hitters, but even the small ones were suprisingly good. Hop &lide, Cavern Kings, Hangeki, Sorcery, Infinity Wars, etc.

Speaking of good games, I assume Storyteller development is still on hiatus. *monthly sigh*
