We talk about anything Indie, want to talk about the mess that DoubleFine is leaving behind? The depth(s) of Dwarf Fortress? Need recommendations? This is the right spot to ask! We'd also love to read more impressions

Or you didnt have enough time to play through all of the games from the last month but still want to catch up with the best ones? Then this list is for YOU! I noticed there are a few noteworthy, and relatively unknown, projects that deserve a shoutout here because I feel that they share a common interest with the people in this thread. I talked to the guy from Pixabyte and MetaVendetta and both are very enthusiastic about the things they love and figured you might appreciate the shoutout as well. If you enjoy anything here or want to give feedback, let these guys know via their websites or also here in this thread. If you appreciate something, let people know. A heads up can sometimes very valuable.
This is a monthly podcast series that presents notable Indie Game soundtracks. A likeable host and guests, a fantastic track selection, interesting discussions and a focus for Indies will make this one a mainstay in my monthly threads.

Copy the appropriate content and add the proper information for the black writing. Please only include 1 link and 1 image. I tried making it a bit failsafe, so it should be able to deal with 2 links or images as well, but 1 is safer.TITLE - PLAT

1. Halcyon 6 - $14.99 (Win, Mac)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/371200
On the edge of Terran space lies Halcyon 6, a derelict starbase left behind by a mysterious precursor race. Your mission is to reclaim the derelict station and rebuild it. A mysterious alien force is making a beeline towards Earth and this starbase is the best chance for the New Terran Federation to establish new alliances, research new technologies and otherwise figure out a way to stop the impending invasion.

1. Redcon - $5.99 (PC, IOS, Android)
http://www.hexage.net/redcon/
The game is kind of like XCOM base building, plus FTL. You build your artillery base and then manage your weapons and soliders. Weapons have different shot types, you can send out airships to drop assault troops onto the enemy base, and there's a ton of weapons, rooms, and upgrades to choose from.

3. Veer - $2.99 (PC, Mac)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/405530
A slick little gem of a puzzler that revolves around teleporting between totems that mirror your position. This allows for interesting spatial challenge that's a bit more complicated than just teleporting between spots, as you need to consider height, angle, and direction when you swap position. The challenge increases as more puzzle elements are introduced, such as foreground/background platforms, rotating levels, and more.

3. Daily Chthonicle - Free beta (PC)
http://www.indiedb.com/games/daily-chthonicle
Its basically a text adventure RPG with a UI disguising the setup as a news paper agency. Send out reporters, decide on mini encounters, equip and train them and find the solutions to the mysteries throughout the cities. Good sense of progression, although it might seem a bit aimless at first. Definitely worth checking out. The incredibly confusing UI and styl over readability/non save games kept it from getting the highest praise, but maybe they will work on that for the full version.

3. Pharaonic - $15.99 (PC, Mac, Linux)
http://store.steampowered.com/app/386080
Its an action adventure game, which is mostly focussed around timing your actions correctly to block/evade and attack. Its rather simplistic, but they managed to slot the individual pieces together to a rather engaging whole, especially with the multi path side scrolling levels and the itemization/loot. The combat feels a bit sluggish, but offers decent variety if you take different weapon and item setups into account and the challenge is motivating enough to want to push forward. Strange thing, but worth checking out.

GAF Thread: Freeware Games
So many free games are out there and so many are just really good games that a large majority of people will never play. From developers with large portfolios of freeware games, to free alphas and betas, to the hundreds and hundreds of entries for game jams such as Seven Day Roguelike, Seven Day FPS, Ludum Dare, and others, to the talented work of Digipen students, there's just an astounding amount of quality free games to play and enjoy that this thread tries to uncover.
