Most likely President Huckabee. Obama would have to have an incredibly powerful message that stood well with people old and young, AND racist / religious conservatives.
No, you need to look at it on a state by state basis . . . and yeah, Obama would lose the racist/religious-conservative states. But he would win the west and NorthEast . . . as usual, it would come down to the battleground states . . . Ohio, Florida, etc.

Ugh, our election system is so broken.

This cant be right?

Code:

Giuliani 4,901	11%
Paul 4,379	10%

The Dem's numbers seem WAY too low for it to be 74% reporting

Those aren't individual vote totals for the Dems. You don't get that on their side.

65% reporting. Ron Paul back in 5th

Mike Huckabee 34%
Mitt Romney 25%
Fred Thompson 14%
John McCain 13%
Ron Paul 10%
Rudy Giuliani 4% 0
Duncan Hunter 0%

If you're a Democrat, then how can you not support Obama right now?

I don't know what this means nor who it is directed at. As A Dem, I've always said I'll support whoever the party nominates but I'm still not voting for him in the primary.

From the NY Times "The vote totals for the Iowa Democratic Party are State Delegate Equivalents, which represent the estimated number of state convention delegates that the candidates would have, based on the caucus results."
Bah. Would much rather see the raw data

Those aren't straight votes, those are actually delegates that they are voting for. Just like the real presidential election, the number of votes aren't what count, but the number of delegates do.

Yeah, now Rudy's back down to 4%. Guess there was an error somewhere.:lol

Enron, going to start the RIP Giuliani Campaign thread?

It's a shame that Ron Paul's supporters have created such a backlash among many people. Though I admit I was turned off to Arrested Development a while back when it was really popular because of how annoying all it's fans were.

Senator Barack Obama : 36.68%
Senator John Edwards : 30.24%
Senator Hillary Clinton : 29.99%
Governor Bill Richardson : 2.01%
Senator Joe Biden : .94%
Uncommitted : .11%
Senator Chris Dodd : 0.03%

1500/1700 precincts reporting.

I was hoping Hillary would do better. I know you all hate her, but still, sad to see her drop below 30%

We're fucked. The South is crucial for any democrat to win.

The only backlash he has created is here on GAF which would backlash against the sun coming up in the morning if the right circumstances were around.

Yeah, Paul's campaign is pretty far from over. Give it until NH at least. He's gotta do *something* with that 20 mil.
He might as well use it to start building a libertarian utopia deep in the Atlantic.

Obama really seems to be steamrolling now. A big win stand will put him in a much better position for the other states than a close win right?

Honestly, I think that it would be high time for the proper states full of real human beings to cut themselves lose from the evangelical ones if someone like Huckabee were elected. The alternative would be, essentially, a concession that one cannot lead the USA unless they are a religious fanatic. That's not credible, that's not healthy.

No, Ron Paul spammers are all over the fucking internet.. even in AICN talkbacks.

Does anyone have the exact dates of each caucus for each state? I know New Hampshire and South Carolina are coming up soon, but I honestly don't know when any of the other states are holding them.
