Are the new iPhone 5C cases compatible with the Crocs Jibbitz? Would be cool to have these through the holes:

This thing probably costs Apple >$100 less to make than the iPhone 5, yet it costs the same the iPhone 5 would have costed if it hadn't been replaced by the 5C. Sure, $99 sounds $100 cheaper than the 5S but in reality after two years of paying for the service in a 2-year contract it's probably less than 5% cheaper than getting a 5S.

I eagerly await the Anandtech review. I suspect they also cut corners with the display like they do with the iPod touch.

Traditionally, the iPhone 5 would be the phone selling for $99. Instead, it's the iPhone 5C, which uses the same internals, but plastic and other elements that make it far cheaper to produce.
 
It's fucking cute as hell. I love colorful mobile devices. I'll never get one, but if I did, I'd definitely go yellow phone / blue case.

Yup, I bought my 4s unlocked/off contract. It depends on your usage.
I use prepaid. Based on my needs, it's significantly cheaper over the course of a year, than if I were to buy it subsidized and on a contract.

You're right though, most people will see the $99 and jump. But they probably don't realize they are paying thousands in the long run.
 
Wow this phone isn't cheap at all I though it would be in the same price range as the nexus 4. I don't care what anyone says 500+ outright for a phone is ridiculous I don't care whether it says Sony, samsung , HTC or apple. Nexus 4 is nearly half the price of these phones and still one of the best phones on the market

Have to agree here. The case looks hideous as it is and it's executed just as badly. If they wanted to sell $0.10 worth of plastic for $30 they could have just brought back the damn bumper instead of bringing out the hole punch.

Ah, OK. well $360 seems like a decent price for a new 4S. Not sure if it’s locked or not. If it is, might lower resale by a bit.

Anyway, there won’t be any further price drops on the 4S from Apple- they just lowered it to $450 today. There may be other carrier deals throughout the year.

That's good to know, thanks. I think I'm going to get my wife a 4S for her birthday this month and get her out of the feature phone ghetto. I was waiting to see how cheap the 5C would be and it's not cheap at all.
 
600€ euros seriously ?
I like colors so i was planong on selling my 5 for a 5c ... It will not happen.
Was really hoppong for 399/499€ without contract.
 
The phone itself looks great, and the colors work well with iOS 7.
The cases are terrible. Just terrible.

I'm an Android user, so I can't get one, but I can appreciate the nice color choices for the phone. Good show, Apple.
 
Ugh at the screen size. Not impressed with the price either. Looks like I am getting a Nexus for my dad, then. Was hoping this would be more budget conscious just because I wouldn't mind trying an iPhone for a while.
 
If they're going to take notes from the competition, they've at least aimed in the right direction by going after Nokia's colourful phone designs. Still, underwhelming if competent additions to the iPhone lineup.
 
I fully expect it to be a great phone and the build quality up to the usual high standards of Apple, but the industrial design does nothing for me. Just..meh. The colours are nice though, I've gotten sick of grey/black/white objects in the last few years and a dash of colour really helps.
 
I wouldn't find it too ridiculous to imagine people getting a sliver of their finger stuck in one of those holes and inadvertently dropping them.
