Dirt? Ha, no good sir this is an iphone case, designed for use in conjunction with an iphone, not an Android.
I don't get it.

This is about increasing ASP and margins for investors.I just wish the 5c was a little cheaper, a price hike on the 5s is not helping either, same happened to the Mac mini just before I had the funds to buy one.
It has 5 innards yes but they shoved plastic up its arse, might as well strip a little more out and knock it down by 100 to look nicer to shoppers.

The average selling price has been remarkably steady, and remarkably high, typically around $600 for the duration of this products life. Something, again, unprecedented. My expectation is the new price point will be quite a bit lower than $600, starting with about $450, it might drop a bit further, [which] would cause the overall price range to come down as we have seen with the iPad; [where we] also had a price erosion happen as the smaller version came out.

People should check out the 5C webpage, it's kinda nifty to scroll through.
Playfulness with the phone's color, which is the whole moto of this phone. What's the point of those holes anyway? Better grip? Looks rather uncomfortable.
I don't understand, is Google the only company that can make a good budget phone with the correct price or what?
Yeah but when people think Google they think Nexus. Nexus never runs more then $400 for the biggest.Moto X 16GB is $199 on contract and $550 off contract here in Canada. Not really that different.
Was hoping this would be a little cheaper. Im not into paying 600 for a phone.
Holly shit... thats insane. Definitely not a budget phone.
I don't understand, is Google the only company that can make a good budget phone with the correct price or what?
Really? So you don't see the benefits of pay $30 a month vs $100. Someone's choking on cock, and it's not Google's.Yeah and you're in the minority in tsat.
Everyone who's choking on Google's cock needs to remember that they made this niche device but have barely spent the time or money explaining the benefits of a cheap, off-contract phone.
Pretty much everyone pre-announcement, that's why a lot of us cheapies are disappointed it's not.Who said it was a budget phone?

Can we go further back and post photos of Nintendo's Play it Loud GameBoys and the many N64 colors they released?Ah, well that's your fault for taking rumors/speculation as fact
This is why Apple will never meet, let alone exceed, expectations anymore. Too much rumor milling, etc.

Yep. Yep yep yep. In fact, I remember seeing photos in this very thread pages ago with old rotary phones in colors.releasing things in different colors isn't really something you can necessarily attribute to any one company. Fucking swatch watches were doing it in the 80s and probably someone before them. I doubt Apple or Nokia sat around ripping off a Nintendo campaign from 1993.
Hopefully this is like the first Macbook air. Overpriced but once they its a transition device to drive manufacturing costs down and the next model will be the real one you should buy.
Hopefully this is like the first Macbook air.

Apple re-invented color.
If you watched the video, you'd understand what they mean. As usual they're referring to the moulding process, in their own roundabout way.lol wut? "Can't be painted on" *looks at 5C*

As for who is going to buy this? Millions of people actually, who think this is 50% cheaper than the 5S because it's $99 compared to $199 on contract, when it's actually closer to just 5% cheaper in the long run since they'll end up paying thousands in monthly plan payments no matter what phone they get. Paying $2400 for a 5C makes no sense when you can pay $2500 for a 5S. But most people seem to have trouble thinking beyond the short term; the Carriers thrive on this model and that's why they keep the subsidies.
The US Carrier / Manufacturer / Consumer ecosystem is just quite bizarre.
Those unlocked prices in the UK 469£ for 16gb and 549£ for 32gb is more than the S4 and way more than the HTC One currently unlocked. This is not budget.
I love the look of the green one. I may go from a 4S to that, haven't decided yet.
So I just got to watch the keynote, and fucking LOL @ Apple actually Photoshopping out the "hon" in the 5C cases for the keynote. Even they know the cases suck.
This is way too expensive if aimed at emerging markets. People here in Asia mostly buy phones unlocked so I really don't get the high price.

The fact that anyone cares is more mindblowing than Apple's "lapse".
