Is anyone else waiting for Japanese Nintendo Switch preorders?

Wish I had done the math to realize the conversion price from Yen to USD right now makes the Switch about $265 in Japan right now..

You were the last one to arrive to this party bloodbath and the first one to get an order in. Lucky! ;)

I guess this also confirms they accept foreign cards.

Yeah they took it no problem. Set up a tenso account (first time, hope it goes ok).

Always a chance it gets cancelled later. :/ Who knows?

Has anyone here managed to complete their orders with a non-Japanese card?

US card here, went through with no issues. I used the same card on the 3DS eshop on my japanese 3DS also with no issues.

sorry

It's been five hours now... Didn't expect it would still be this bad >_<.

Still trying to get in, haven't seen a page loading since the first 5 minutes the store opened ._.

With all the taxes and shipping you will pay, it will barely be cheaper

And dont forget power. It might just require a basic plug adaptor, i mean it is a portable so thats what id expect, but there is a chance youll need a transformer.

At that point it might just be better to buy locally.

I give up, my eyes are hurting >_<.

Gonna let my page tracker run in the background so I know when the store front is accessible again. Even if I get a page to load, I need to enter my address, add three items and then check out. It's not gonna happen as long as the site is this unstable =/.

According to the FCC filing it's a dual voltage, so no transformer needed (heck even Wii U didn't need one).

In my case though I live in the middle east so can't buy it locally, and shipping costs the same from anywhere. So it makes Japan my cheapest option by a large margin, especially compared to getting it from Europe.

Also the warranty, that will be a pain considering that it's a 1st gen production model. It will be difficult to have it fix if you are outside Japan.

Yeah, this site is driving me insane. I've been trying all day, too, and every time I step away from the computer, I dread it's going to be the moment that the site starts working perfectly. I'm amazed some of you even got as far as to entering details or putting items in your cart, and even completing check out! :O All I've ever had is error screens all day. ;-;

I stepped away from my computer long ago, had a meal and now listening to a podcast while laying on bed... But I keep checking this thread and the site every 5 minutes or so, and feel glad to see that I haven't missed anything :P

What I'm trying to say is: use your phone to get away from the computer, but stay within reasonable distance so you can dart back in the unlikely case that the site starts working :)

Why yall doing this? 🤓
Because:

1. This store has the Switch console and Zelda with exclusive customization options and extras not available anywhere else
2. Some of us live in Japan
3. Some of us would like to import from Japan (either because it's cheapest, and/or the only currently available option, and/or reason 1.)

And we've been held hostage by a lizard for 6 or 7 hours now
