Is Dragon Ball Z Super any good?

Well it's Dragonball, so it's good to watch to add to the memories (for sake).

It's great at times, boring elsewhere, but I still watch just cause it's Dragonball regardless of the microscope I bring to the quality, or how much I overlook it's flaws.

I said there's implications. A guy with kids doesn't understand kissing so would he understand sex? He very well may understand it but I don't think he does.
For the last time, he knows what kissing is. What he was confused about was why Trunks was spitting senzu into Mei's mouth. It was Vegeta that mistakenly thought Goku was taking about kissing. Rewatch the episode.

Been watching since day 1. It's alright, there's a lot to complain about but there are some good moments that make it all worth it.

I can't believe people still post episode 5

You can't? People will cling to that picture if the show ends up being as long as the original DBZ.

I'm really enjoying the series, for what it's worth.
are there still a lot of padded episodes?

People are pretty sick of Pilaf at this point, but other than questionable comedy the series had been moving pretty decently.

Ok thanks. Yea my main problem with Z was the never ending talking and stares untilk the fight. I'm definetly gonna check this out when it hits toonami.

I tried watching it but the Japanese voices are so bad it's unbearable. Why is does a beefed up savior of the universe sound like he swallowed helium? I'll wait until it's dubbed to give it another go.

If you replace the movies with everything before episode 28, it's fine. It's had it's problems, but I've really enjoyed the latest arc.

It's pretty entertaining. I would watch the first 2 movies over the show versions though. The Future Trunks arc they have going on right now is super fun though. I've enjoyed it a lot. And yeah Goku is dumb in Super in a way he wasn't portrayed in the dub (which is what I watched) but the dub is really different from the japanese version apparently so. For example, Goku asking Krillin to let Vegeta leave earth is entirely different.

Also, we really arguing Goku is a rape victim now? Really?

Just watched Battle of Gods. Which is the other movie?

Because Goku's personality is a kid in an adult's body.

Personally enjoying Super a lot. It took a while for it to get going but I've loved the past couple arcs. I've really dug how it's maintained a balance between comedy/action ((
PACIFIER VEGETA OMG
)

also gtfo with the nozawa hate

Edit: Also, it may've just been the subs I watched, but I thought that Senzu Bean scene implied Goku didn't know what kissing was.

Definitely worth a watch. Gets good during the tournament arc and has been pretty good since then, especially the fights.

Where it ranks in terms of DBZ or DBGT is up to personal preference obviously. I would say DBZ >>> DBS > DBGT. In terms of humor DBS has them beat though, shit is hilarious.

The problem is the majority of Americans began with DBZ instead of Dragon Ball so many of the charms that make the franchise great/fun are seen as nuisances to the usual fan from the US.

If you are a dragonball fan you'll like it.

A far as legal ways to watch it in english. There isn't any unfortunately.

Kind of good in a bad way I'd say, it's a brain dead stupid anime with some cool moments from time to time. The nostalgia goggles sure help to keep watching it no matter what.

Depends, how far are you willing to lower your expectations? If you enjoyed the remake for Sailor Moon then you'll probably enjoy this as well, both are by the same cheap ass studio Toei.

Episode 62 was the first episode I've watched front to back (trying to wait on legal streaming options, but you know). It was quite good, the current story is very unpredictable.

I think it's going to end with
Future Trunks × Gohan fusion plus Vegeto versus Zamasu x Black Fusion for the fate of the future universe. This episodes callback to the original DB was amazing, especially with Goku forgetting that Piccolo/Kami mastered the Mafuba 3 years after Master Roshi taught Tien. The move is totally going to backfire.

Yes. The new arc is pretty good.

Just look at this badass. Best villain so far.

That janky complete lack of animation in first shot then next shot it's windy. So much god damn jank in this show. The plot is good but the show could be amazing, if it werent always hamstrung by jank.

I actually think it's really dumb and takes all the problems that GT had and times it by 10.

All of that wouldn't be as bad if the art looked decent more than 20% of the time. Mostly an eyesore.

There's some pretty cool time travel shenanigans in the latest arc IMO

Plus they managed to combine multiverse and time travel without it becoming too complicated.

Well dude, as I've always said, I'm perfectly fine with people loving Super, but I guess we look for different things. I honestly don't like the time traveling shenanigans, I don't like the return of Future Trunks, I don't like the whole romance with Mai, I don't like the new transformations, Zamasu seems like a weak villan so far (In my opinion), the time skip was minuscule (I have a HUGE issue with this), etc.

I'm glad tons of people are having fun with the return of Dragon Ball, and I'm actually watching the show expecting it to get better, but I guess the plot is just not for me.

Probably my biggest gripe with Super (along with
Gohan's character assassination
). Hopefully the show goes past EoZ at some point.

That's actually what I'm waiting for, and basically the sole reason I still follow the show in one way or another.

I wonder why the hell Toriyama was thinking. So much potential for a plot set after EoZ, but he decides to make Super basically just another post-Buu arc in Dragon Ball Z.

Just a question, but is GT still considered canon at this point? Or has super completely replaced it?

Is SSJ4 still the strongest form?

Nah it's unfortunately not canon, it never really was. Just a fun lil what if story toei did with only a tiny amount of toriyama's cooperation(nothing story related tho)

It depends.

Regarding Toriyama's own work, no, it was never canon.

For Toei's anime run, it was canon when it was released. It is now being overwritten by Super, however.

Unless Super somehow fucks up/creates a new timeline or some stuff like that, GT is no longer canon in any way.

Except in my head. GT is my headcanon, and Super isn't. :p

I still stand by my prediction of it being another timeline and or super gets time taken back and everything that happens erased. Boom!! Gt canon muahahaha.(people would hate it)

GT has never been canon. Toriyama did help with designing some characters but he was uninvolved in the story. It started as a fun what if homage to OG DB that tried to become Z by the end.

Super's story is 100% Toriyama (except the filler arcs), he writes the outline and the anime team adapts it. He was inspired to continue with Dragon Ball after that American movie we don't talk about.

And no, Super Saiyan Blue and it's dark counterpart are the strongest forms in Canon at this point.Trunks recently obtained what appears to be a close second though.
