"Hollywood" is no measure of quality when it comes to entertainment. It's the same as judging good restraunts by comparing them to the food at McDonalds, it's worthless.
without slaying them each other.
(hope i explained it well xD)
Kojima also happen to be genius game designer, his movie obsession just add on top of his already great game.
That said, I think Cage are also great in what he does, the emotion he can pull out of me in his game like Heavy Rain are still very powerful to me.
Was talking with my friend about something similar a month ago.
Its obvious this guy wants to make movies Imo. Well thats the impression I get from watching his long ass trailers and the "directed by Kojima" stamp on most of them.
Its only a matter of time before he throws out one of his screenplays (Yes I believe he has secretly written some stuff) at Hollywood.
Always found it interesting how Kojima talks about how much he's influenced by films, and you can see that influence in his games, and we praise him.
David Cage is very much in the same boat, though his games aren't as good (however, I wouldn't call them bad), and he gets absolutely shit on.

Came expecting shops of Kojima as Hollywood Hogan. Don't disappoint me GAF
A hack who makes some of the best gameplay experiences out there, while near flawlessly intograting them with his sometimes admittedly too stupid stories.his hollywood obsession is what turned him into a hack.
He can stay there for all I care.
wait wat? Kojima is 50?! Is he a witch????!!!Woah, is this for real?
If it's real, he got some sexy ass for a 50 years old guy
still no Sakurai levels of lack-there-of aging.wait wat? Kojima is 50?! Is he a witch????!!!

That's much more than you can say about actual hacks like The Order guys who literally just want to make a movie but are just for it "gameplay" on their cause, and I quote "it's a game, so we have to".
Then again it's not like he ever really wanted to work on these stories past 3 on the first place so... Yeah.
Maybe if people didn't find the need to send the man DEATH threats because they weren't getting their precious continuation to MGS2, completing missing the damn point of that game btw...
This world's stupid.

Metal Gear was released 27 years ago so it's kind of logical he's not in his teen years anymore.wait wat? Kojima is 50?! Is he a witch????!!!

Kojima's ass?!Pretty much there. Hollywood Directors Gush Awkwardly Over A Metal Gear Trailer http://kotaku.com/hollywood-directors-gush-weirdly-over-a-metal-gear-trai-1596859024
Have you played Spec Ops? Red Dead Redemption? I'm not even sure the Last of us is a huge step from Bioshock.they both have pretty cornball "drama" scenes. but at least kojima's games have a pretty fun backbone of gameplay behind them.
all david cage has is interactive movies, and very poor ones at that. his studio is even worse than ninja theory.
last of us is probably the only game in the last few years that really impressed me with it's presentation.
I mean, introducing movie features into the game without the sacrifice of gaming part (aka interactive movies).no, not really lol.
Hideo Kojima Speaks About The Matrix
Is Hideo Kojima's next game going to be based on The Matrix? Nope. Find out the details inside.

The latest issue of Famitsu featured a special interview with Hideo Kojima (director of Konami's Metal Gear Solid) and the Wachowski brothers (directors of the film The Matrix). Apparently, Kojima has been exchanging letters with the Wachowskis for quite some time, but he finally met them in person during the interview. The Wachowski Brothers, who play video games, said that after directing The Matrix, the first game they played was Metal Gear Solid.
Kojima and the Wachowski brothers talked about how their work shared some similarities. Kojima made a very interesting comment: "I have seen the movie four times (laughs). I like this type of work. What I was planning to do in my next project, they pretty much made into a motion picture. We were planning on certain things like characters running on walls and such, but they've beat me to it (laughs)."
Sorry folks, it's not what you have been thinking. It would be a great project if Hideo Kojima were to work on The Matrix video game, but we'll have to wait and see what his real next project is. Stay tuned.
Approached by the Watchowski Brothers to work in the production team of "The Matrix Reloaded" and "The Matrix Revolutions"
His 5 favorite movies include Blade Runner, Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior, Heaven and Hell, Taxi Driver and 2001: A Space Oddesey. Heaven and Hell is the only film in his list that is Japanese.
Well, he's not very good at making games, so might as well make some movies.
Kojima > Hollywood

Definitely,
But with the Kiefer thing Kojima is losing some serious points.
I guess...
Y'know, I've always wondered how the double standard for Kojima and for example David Cage came about.

Well, with MGS4 he came awfully close to an interactive movie in terms of cutscene/gameplay ratio. I really enjoyed it overall, but the gameplay sections were not particularly amazing and great in numbers.I don't think it's really a double standard. I am a fan of Cage and enjoy his games a lot but at the end of the day if you remove Metal Gear Solid's cinematics you have very mechanic focused games. On the other hand in Cage's games the gameplay has much more in common with adventure games(although they're very much their own thing) and is very intimately tied to the story. If you think MGS is stupid you can always ignore the story but you can't do that with any of Cage's games.
You should play some Omikron.all david cage has is interactive movies
Eh, I would say it goes up and down really.Because Kojima's games while generally having crappy stories make up for it in the fun department. David Cage games have been lessening in quality with each iteration.
