Great game visually and musically but also fun to play and explore and not too easy either. Go for it you won't be disappointed.
I'm glad this thread exists, because I checked one video review and it said 30fps and glitchy, with scripted encounters not triggering, collision detection being wonky and some platforming problems. This is all fixed, then?
I'm waiting to play more on ps4 until after the 60fps patch
Combat seems great and I love the art style but it's pretty fucking obtuse
The game was amazing. and the 60fps patch made it even more responsive. Also the music and atmosphere just gave me a great feeling.
100% yes. Amazing game, and now even the 60fps purists can't complain.

"worth it"? You don't have $15?
Is XB1 getting the 60 fps patch?
Afaik... no 60 fps on consoles and it's not gonna be patched in either. A shame, the combat is fast and I feel I died a lot of time due to framepacing.
The 60fps patch is coming to consoles.

I've been wondering about this game too. Does it have RPG mechanics like leveling up? Is there gear to unlock/collect, or is it just a gun and laser sword the whole way through?
Is it more like Ys or Zelda, if that makes sense?
Yes, absolutely. It's my game of the year.
More like Zelda than Ys. You can "level up" your attacks at a store in town, but it's not like RPG leveling up. It's more like Bayonetta where you actually buy a move you can then perform. Ability to reflect projectiles, dash attacks, etc.
Hyper Light Drifter is a game that I've been following for a while, and I know Steam is selling it on sale right now, but I'm wondering if it's worth it to buy? I never really heard any impressions of the game other than that it looks cool af visually.
What do you say about the game GAF?
What do you recommend for controls in this game? I use a Steam Controller and tried a few setups but using the left trackpad to move the character didn't work that well. Wondering if I should use DS4 and D-pad or is the analog stick better?
My beef with the game is that it doesn't seem to have that much enemy variety at least so far. Also had trouble executing the chain dash but maybe I'll learn it.
Great game. Bad music. Put on some spacey prog rock instead.
Is this a game to play with a controller?
