Holy crap! Today's real megaton is that more than two people can have the same first name.
Not really. Captain Toad was just released which is heavily based on it. (And owning 3D World unlocks more levels.)

It's really funny when people defend tooth and nail their darn stupid decisions. But hey, whatever rocks your boat.Oh please don't put words into my mouth. I'm not an idiot that doesn't know what happens after the credits. I played through the first world after the main game and it did have some suitably challenging levels. The world after only had some rehashes of older levels so I stopped there. It's been a while so I might be off but that was definitely the cause for quitting the game.
There are like 12 world,s and believe me, you stopped right around the point where it gets way, way better.
World 7-12 in 3D world felt like a beautiful return to Galaxy in HD.
Just do it.
Yeah no. Nothing in 3D World comes close to the heights of Gusty Garden or Space Junk Galaxy, hell not even to the heights of Buoy Base Galaxy.Super Mario 3D World's soundtrack > Super Mario Galaxy's soundtrack

Disagree. 3D World was great, and my wife and I still play it fairly regularly. I will agree with someone above me that I couldn't tell you which levels were in which worlds, but I think that's more a lack of cohesive world design than it is about the game itself being memorable.
I still don't get why levels that good aren't included in the main game. It would be like if the Galaxies took out all the good stuff and put it after the final bowser battle.Uh
No?
People still sing the praise of it's spectacular post-game which is arguably the best of any Mario game to date.
Except it isn't. World 7 is great, at least for it's music, but if you're not a fan of the past levels you're not going to be a fan of 7 onwards. I mean Worldis great and fresh but it doesn't change the fundamental way the game works, and the two worlds after that are boring rehash worlds that hardly do much to the levels they're rehashing, then finally there's the last which only technically has one level and it much like many other recent Nintendo platformers fall into the tired trope of substituting actual difficulty with the lack of a checkpoint and the tedium that follow.Star
Don't forget that if you want to 100% the game, you have to repeat each level with the all the other characters as well.
I still listen to its soundtrack. Best Mario soundtrack.

I do get the impression that Nintendo played the game design very safe compared to previous generations.
Even the people who don't like it won't shut up about this game... Especially them, actually.
There'd be absolutely no argument there, if Galaxy didn't exist. Since it does, you'll hear plenty of 'well the soundtrack was boring/flat/whatever', because apples are oranges, but for me it's my second favorite Mario OST behind, well, the original Galaxy. (Third behind Sega's amazing M&S Sochi OST, if that counts) I mean, beyond the big band stuff which I'm a total sucker for, there are times where the themes sound like backdrops to a fantastic cartoon. Like these
It's an incredibly forgettable game. It's great but it does nothing new and is not a re-imagining of the Mario framework like Galaxy or an evolution of the series like 64. It's Sunshine but good.

You stopped shortly after the game started. That's darn smart, whichever way you look at it.No fucking idea what you are talking about. I stopped when the game threw rehashes of older levels at me. That's somehow a "stupid decision"?

Literally every star beyond the first in every level of both Galaxy games, Sunshine, and 64 are "rehashes."

I practically no-life'd this game up until the 7th world, but took a break to play some other games I got. Truly reminds me of the platforming glory days.
