Is the Hulk the cheapest comic book superhero ever?

I'm sorry, but that "Go be invulnerable in New Jersey" is right up there with "Do you think this letter on my head stands for France?"

The Sentry/Void merged and not willing to die = Truely Cheap!

pretty much the correct answer(minus the merged thing, hes clearly insane)

superman level abilities plus high level molecular construction strong enough to tear molecule man apart as well as an unknown level of psionic abillity? yeah, this fucker is completely broken.

I think every fictional character can be called "cheap" because fiction can be bent to accommodate any storyline. When you have to churn out years worth of ongoing character development, there are bound to be conflicting bits of information. Nobody is perfect.

Hulk is one of my favorite comic characters. And I would argue that his powers are certainly finite because rage, as a human emotion is finite. You can only get so mad. I know it's a bit abstract but I can't imagine getting madder and madder and madder until infinity. There must be a point at which even the Hulk would say "Fuck it! I ain't even mad." In the old TV shows, cuddly animals and water falls would calm him down. So that's like his Kryptonite. If you don't want the Hulk to destroy your planet with his rage, just put on the My Little Pony tv show or something and his rage will subside...eventually.

Ideally the Hulk would be the cheapest character. But realistically he's gotten his ass beat down way too many times in his 50 years of existence to be called cheap. His strength is more or less just a plot device depending on the story.

OK.

I need to go back and read a lot of these books that you guys are referencing. What's the best way to do so? I definitely want to check out WWH and the Dark Avengers series.

Is this what I should be reading?

Is the Marvel Online subscription worth the price of admission?

The thing about Sentry though is that his strength is dependent upon his mental stability/instability. In that respect, that causes his power to fluctuate wildly, making him a very inconsistent character in terms of gauging his power level (DBZ reference ftw). In his higher showings though he has been very impressive.

I'm surprised that more people have not brought up Silver-Age Superman. Dude was so OP that he needed to be retconned. He was faster than flash, was able to move an entire solar system, and also sneezed one out by accident amongst many other ridiculous things. Yeah...

Hulk is far from the "cheapest" superhero there is. There are many who far outshine him in that respect.

I honestly dont know what Marvel were thinking when they got the sentry to be so umm crazy.
He is unstoppable.

Shame really cuz im, one of the very few out there who actually likes the sentry and would love to have seen him get some really good writing treatment.....most likely will never happen though, but one can dream.

The Void full reveal was once my wallpaper, i honestly thought this storyline was going somewhere....how foolish of me

Hulk used so much effort doing that....lets see how the sentry achieves a similar result?

Superboy-Prime is currently strongest there is

Plastic Man is pretty awesome, but can he transcend time and space by will?

Even regular-ass Superman can do it.

Yeah, SBP is pretty retarded. However, even though he's not around any more, Silver Age will always be the most OP Supes ever.

So um couldn't you just break down Plastic Man and use his "material" on different products basically defeating him?

Might want to catch up on the DC universe

Prime can outlast the reboot on the merit of being in the same universe that is writing it

he can even beat up the DC editors if it ends up sucking ;P

ultimate form of Fourth Wall awareness

I must have missed Teen Titans 98 or it hasn't come out yet o_o

also Stupidboy and Kidpulse got rebooted, haw haw

Superman-they can't even make up there mind on what his powers are(keeps on changin
)

when? when did superman's powers last change?? these are his powers:

Flight
Strenght
vision powers
(heat, x-ray, infrared, etc)
invulnerability
and that's it. things like super breath are just a function of him being mega strong. the last time his pwoers radically changed was when he was an energy being and that was temporary anyway.

Are there any stories where Wolverine actually uses his 50+ years of knowledge, experience and extensive martial arts training from around the world and doesn't just act like a stupid brute?

From Wiki:
The character apparently suffers a setback when brutally beaten by the Hulk, on an rampage during the "World War Hulk" storyline and seeking revenge on Black Bolt for his role in the Hulk's exile from Earth.[75] During the events of the Secret Invasion limited series it is revealed that this was not in fact Black Bolt, but rather a Skrull, who is killed in battle by members of the Illuminati.[76][77] The true Black Bolt is captured by the Skrulls, who intended to use his voice as a weapon of mass destruction.[78] The character is rescued when the heroes of Earth defeat the Skrull army and discover the location of their captured teammates.[79]

Superman.

In modern times Superman has really been depowered. I don't even think he can go into space anymore without a breathing apperatus. In fact there have been several noteworthy arcs in the past decade where he ran around with no powers at all

The Thing hung around with The Hulk in his regular form for a while in their fight...Which makes the Thor fight seem so ridiculous.
