Thinking%20man.jpg

not to mention it has the chick from rilo kiley innit.

Does it have to be real-video games?

Coz Tron wins if it doesnt.

But then Tron is a game now.

Noodle.... melting...

Mortal Kombat 1 is the best videogame movie

Silent Hill is 2nd

the Wizard is an 80 minute advertisement campain

Troopers, I just received new orders. Our superiors say the war is cancelled. We can all go home. Bison is getting paid off for his crimes, and our friends who have died here will have died for nothing. But, we can all go home. Meanwhile, ideals like peace, freedom, and justice, they get packed up. But, we can all go home.

Well, I'm not going home. I'm gonna get on my boat, and I'm going up river, and I'm going to kick that son of a bitch Bison's ass so hard that the next Bison wannabe is gonna feel it! Now, who wants to go home... and who wants to go with me?

There is no competition.

Goldeneye.

(I only bothered watching the film after becoming obsessed with the game, and scolded all the films inaccuracies while watching it.)

Mortal Kombat knocks the shit out of every other videogame movie. I thought there was #3 coming, but it seems to have dissapeared from IMDB

Best licensed videogame movie is by far Mortal Kombat. Resident Evil follows in a close second (even though it isn't close to the source material at all, it's a great videogame movie).

I'd say the closest movie in terms of staying true to the source material would be Silent Hill.

The best videogame movie just for sheer entertainment value is Street Fighter. Seeing Van Damme jump kick Bison from halfway across a room combined with brilliantly awful dialogue and some really wooden acting really makes this one take the cake.

Mortal Kombat also had the best opening theme song of all time for a videogame movie as well.

The Wizard (and Tron for that matter) is a movie about videogames.

So..
If this is about movies centered about videogames, then Grandma's Boy and Tron have my votes.

But...
If this is about movies inspired/based on videogames; then Mortal Kombat (yep, both), Silent Hill and Resident Evil (both also) have my votes also.

I completely agreed with every single word in your post until you put Apocalypse after Resident Evil.

There, I edited..typo from my part..hehe.. :)

Mortal Kombat III is still in pre-production..they are re-writing the script (for the 10000th time) as of right now. (the Devastation subtitle may be dropped...)

Fall 2007...for now. ;)

Nothing beats the DOOM plot revelation that an extra chromosome makes you either SUPER HUMAN or SUPER EVIL.

When the reality is it makes you SUPER um, Down syndrome-d.

Normally, at the time of conception a baby inherits genetic information from its parents in the form of 46 chromosomes: 23 from the mother and 23 from the father. In most cases of Down syndrome, however, a child gets an extra chromosome - for a total of 47 chromosomes instead of 46. It's this extra genetic material that causes the physical and cognitive delays associated with DS.

Do The Last Starfighter and Grandma's Boy count?

Given that they're movies about playing videogames, they do count. And Last Starfighter is a much better movie than the Wizard.

If the argument is about movie adaptations, which it's not, then I think Resident Evil wins the prize for not being horrible.
