Is there something on Wii Ware? ...Surprise Americans!

It's a little late for a Prime 3 demo. How early did we get the Echoes demo disk? It was at least a month if I recall. Man, that was great.

baby steps to the gameplay trailer....baby steps to the harddrive release...baby steps to demo downloads...

it's never too late for a demo, baby :D

a demo could really help, regardless if its online or not. Of course this has been a topic of discussion for a very long time now. Nintendo rarely releases demos. The only two I can think of are Prime 2 and Wind Waker.

well did you ever see the movie? "Baby Steps through the hall...baby steps to the elevator"

I was comparing Nintendo to an insane middle aged man played by Bill Murray. Duh.

After the game releases. I would call that too late.

But then again, I wouldn't be suprised if everyone wasn't like "Oh man, at least Nintendo released a demo, this is awesome!"

that does not make it right!

Nintendo should start NOW! Welcome to 2007! Demo Channel for the ultimate Wii win :D

Hi everyone! This is Sharp, reminding you that it's never too early to make sure you have 800 Wii points for the August twentieth-ton! You certainly don't want to be caught empty-handed on Super Metroid Day! Just trundle down to any gaming accessory store near you and purchase a Wii Points Card of any denomination (they're all at least $10, right?), orrrrrr use a credit card if you're feeling gutsy!

FUCK YEAH

I completley agree, but they like to take their sweet time on stuff like this. They move slower then a turtle. The fact that they had 2 updates this week is reason enough for celebration in some respect.

Yeah. Nintendo should jump on that stat. A demo of BWii and Endless Ocean might help stir up some enthusiasm (as would a damn Prime 3 demo).

Will I need the Classic Controller to play Super Metroid? If so It's going to cost me $28 instead of $8. I guess I could always use the gamecube controller (gulp) instead.

To give people the option.

But yeah, they are dumb not to do the updates that way.

Is it fair to think that they don't do the updates that way because if for some reason the wii loses power, which is less likely to happen if you consciously do it yourself, it would most likely brick the wii?

What if I just play the game on my SNES that is already hooked up tonight?

Well you don't need one if you don't want one. You also don't need to see the screen while you're playing.

Super Metroid is still a bargain at $28.

Just imagine--Super Metroid on TWO televisions at once! It'd be like a Christmas miracle in August!

Also, the battery won't die on your Wii version + 480p (people seem to like it).

:lol the demo channel should be a flash site with just flash games based on the actual games. That would be some funny shit.

But yeah, at this point I can wait for Prime without the demo. What I can't wait on is Galaxy and Smash. Demo please.

actually if they had a flash game of Super Metroid, people might never even bother buying Metroid Prime III.

I wish they sold a Classic Controller pack that came with a Wii points card. I don't want to buy another controller just for one game. Im prefectly aware that Super Metroid is worth 28. My copy has a bum battery as well :(

The Battery wont die on my cart either if I play it often enough. And I get to use my favorite game controller of all time. And I don't have 480p on my Wii. No real room or need for one in my dorm.

Their servers would crash at such an incredibly alarming rate that not even light will be able to escape its gravitational pull.

Well... hm. I guess just buy it because it's Super Metroid and it's awesome and it's fairly cheap and sends a powerful message to Nintendo?

Whoa. A flash-based remake of Super? If compatible with the CC I may never need another game again.

The message: We will keep rebuying your games over and over and over and over. Looking forward to the DS Super Metroid Remake with touch screen mini-games added for good measure.

:lol duh!

Indeed!

It doesn't exist, and I'm not sure it could exist as a faithful port given Flash's technical limitations. But Flash developers have surprised me in the past.

actually I'd probably buy that.

Cant Wait for the 20th and the 27th! Super Metroid is probably the only pre-n64 game I will buy on the VC because of the easy emulation on the PC.

that disc that nintendo offered, which contained majora's mask, ocarina of time, the legend of zelda, adventure of link, also had a 20 minutes long demo of wind waker

I still have that disc somewhere around, nintendo sent it to me 2 years ago

It's just a silly flash site. You even have to buffer the damn videos. That's sad.

Yeah, I was -- well, disappointed isn't the right word, because that implies surprise and it's hard to be surprised at the amount of internet-based fail Nintendo is slinging these days -- let's say less than happy. Not only did it have to buffer, but the video was in a little box in the middle of the screen and looked like ass.

Ugh, just watched the cinematic trailer. What the **** is that shit. Also what's with all those "enemy appearing" cutscenes in the gameplay trailer? They aren't in the other two Prime games, are they?

Still, it's impossible to be disappointed at this announcement, because--Super Metroid!

Wait, people would rather download a video than wait 5 seconds for it to buffer? You people will moan about anything!

The video quality was great for me. Were you on sn LCD?

I'm a happy camper.

actually, at the bottom of the video selection screen (MP3 channel) it says: METROID PRIME 3 CORRUPTION IN STORES AUG. 28th

Haha. I never thought it did exist. You misunderstood me.

Actually the best solution IMO would've been to use the streaming version for the channel (for instant gratification) but at the end of the video, include some text saying that the video can be downloaded at metroid.com. This way those who want a higher quality version can go and get one without having to sacrifice rather precious Wii flash memory space.
