ITT: Anime games that need to be made and awesome ones that already exist

A Naruto fighting game based after the battle dynamics of the series and not combos with a Guilty Gear get out of jail free card.
So you'd like 2 hours of filler between rounds?

What you mean like this:

Guy A defeats Guy B in an instant. Guy B goes "AUGH, but...how did you?!.."

Guy A then proceeds to go on a 10 minutes monologue about how he had perfectly set Guy B up before the battle even started, detaling every nuance of his chakra manipulation and finely tuned jutsu.

Then Guy B will end up being some kind of clone or illusion.

A Gunnm/Battle Angel Alita would be huge. The one on one fights, the motorball, the huge battles... There's a lot of potential for a great game there.

Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann. It'd be like Zone of The Enders meets Shadow of The Colossus, and it sounds fucking fantastic.

Also of note, One Piece with a Tales of Graces like battle system or a Soul Eater action game by Kamiya. *droooool*

Casshern was a major inspiration for the upcoming Vanquish. The game was even supposed to have a robot-dog companion, but they eventually cut out that element. Shame.
Really? As much as I'm looking forward to the game, I'll now have to play it knowing I was denied my own Friender. :(

So you want everyone without a Sharingan to suck?

I just got the idea of maybe an AIR GEAR game that could be a spiritual successor to the JSR franchise. It could feature an open world and the tasks you would preform would be similar to what happens in the anime. Or maybe just gime me a new JSR game idc ;_;

I'd love to see a game set in a Ghibli universe somehow. Not necessarily based off a movie plotline, but I could imagine something set in the Nausicaa world being pretty special.

I doubt it'll happen though :/ Though I understand there's an FDS Nausicaa game, no idea if it's any good.

Also, as for anime games that are good, the Treasure Bleach DS games are the ultimate licensed games; they use the licence well, but you don't have to be a fan of said source material to enjoy them. Shame the online is dead on them these days.

Hajime no ippo by the punch out guys
Cowboy bebop by the mass effect guys
Rurouni kenshin by the devil may cry guys
Princess mononoke by final fantasy team
Monster by the heavy rain guys
Neon genesis evangelion by the xenogears guys
Gundam seed by the zone of the enders guys
Ghost in the shell by shinji mikami
Berserk by itagaki

Anime and good... will prolly have a bunch of people disagree but..

The 2 Bleach fighting games for the DS that were made by treasure are Excelent.

The Macross Japanese Ps2 game is an amazing flight combat game.

The 2 Fullmetal Alchemist Ps2 games are decent beat'em ups.

Evangelion 64 mediocre, but still the best eva game.

Evangelion petit ds. cute random mini game nonsense

Astro Boy on the GBA, why haven't you played this.

The 2 Naruto 360 games by ubisoft. Surprisingly enjoyable

Sailor Moon RPG SNES, english patch

No. Fuck no.

I'd kill for a MonHun styled Gantz game. Grouping up with random people online for a fight to the death where game over actually means something would be so awesome.

Throw in the Gantz's point system and plot and it would make one terrific MonHun game.

Go check out the japanese PSP release list. They have tons of good anime games that would do well over here if translated even if no one is familiar with the source material.

:lol

You just made me feel bad for having watched the first 100 episodes of this back then.

Berserk PS2 is probably the best anime game I've played. It's incredibly faithful to the arc it covers in the manga and is totally badass. You really feel the weight of Guts' sword and the gore is just right.

Wish Spike would make another one this gen. I don't think it sold that poorly. Maybe they're just waiting for the manga to get further first.

Actually scratch that. One Year War is the best anime game I've played. Really spot-on and fun reliving of the original Gundam series storyline. Berserk PS2 gets 2nd place.

and the game that needs to be made is after One Piece manga ends, someone needs to do an epic rpg that covers the entire thing from start to finish. Would be like DQVII x 4 length!

A One Piece fighting game from Capcom. I know One Piece fighting games exist, but they all suck.
If Capcom were to make one, it would be like the Jojo fighting game but with a lot more characters.

That or a One Piece adventure game from the developers of Okami.

this please
cobra01uw5.jpg

action game made by naughty dog, Ă  la uncharted 2

No idea if the many arcade and video games made about it are any good(at the time they were made :p)

Fumito Ueda should tackle BLAME.
Why haven't I thought about this earlier. BLAME! would make a fantastic game if done right. Play it on a big, big TV.

Regarding the other ideas, One Piece has the biggest potential, it's just limited by the main characters and the known story arcs. Cut that back and you have potential for a great open world game.

An absurd dream game of mine: Bungie and Monolith merging Oni and Shogo into the same universe, resulting in Shogo/Oni 2, a third-person shooter with giant robots and really, really big explosions.

Bandai during the Snes period covered almost every manga serie. Also small series like GO GO ACKMAN found their way to a home console.
I think it's hard to think of a serie not yet transferred on optical support, but I'll try:

SHIGURUI (2004) (by Takayuki Yamaguchi the author of KAKUGO)
a dark, physical and sexually explicit samurai manga
I'd like to see it as an animated interactive novel
shigurui3.gif

JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURES
already seen on SNES as an RPG and on other consoles/arcade as a fighting game
I'd like to see it again in an RPG form, but -of course- more complex in graphics and gameplay. A PERSONA clone would be perfect.
jojos-bizarre-adventure.gif
persona-4.jpg

AKIRA by Katsushiro Otomo
I'd like to see it in form of a post apocalyptic driving game.
Such as MOTORSTORM APOCALYPSE. Both with cars and motorcycles and customisation possible.
akiraoriginal-1.jpg
314329.motorstorm-3-per-ps3.not_so_big.jpg

Ninja Scroll The Movie
as an AFRO SAMURAI (Ps3) clone with ninjas and samurai and demons.
nsjubeiresize.jpg
Afro-Samura-001.jpg

Naruto
I'd like to see it in a funny and easy game set in a medieval and mystic japan
A KIKIKAIKAI (aka POCKY & ROCKY) clone

The first Sailor Moon fighting game was really good

I would also like to see a Fairy Tail fghter. I hear the monster hunter style one is pretty good for what it is.

Girls Bravo RTS but you play as Fukuyama. Lay traps, get babes and fondle tits all the while controlling a vast business empire.

COWBOY BEBOP SPACE SIM/TPS

Mass Effect meets a space sim
That would rock we need more space sims with great combat and settings that don't revolve around mysterious aliens and saving the universe in some half assed plot. Just a good old space drama with a solid story would be awesome. Going around to awesome locals doing the whole bounty hunter thing and meeting crazy and cool npcs.

A well crafted One Piece action RPG could potentially be awesome. Also, a Hunter x Hunter RPG with a big focus on sidequests and exploration.

An Ace Attorney-style Detective Conan would also be pretty awesome. I'd love the chance to play through some DC-style cases, especially if they got Aoyama to come up with the mysteries.

Yeah it's one of my favorites up there with the Macross PS2 game. I have never played One Year War, but I still love the Side Story game on Dreamcast as far as Gundam games go. I picked up One Year War really cheap recently as a present for my brother. Should give it a try I suppose.

Also, although none of them are official Tech Romancer is one of the best Mecha anime fighting games ever made. All the suits are blatant homages to famous robots so it fits.

Good Anime Games:

SRW (pretty much all of them are good.)

Gundam Vs Gundam Next Plus was sweet as well and I can't wait to see vids after Ex Vs launches.

Another Century's Episode was great as well.

Ikki Tousen Cross Impact was a good current day brawler.

As for Anime that could be made into games.

Elfen Lied as a Ninja Gaiden 2 esk bloody game where limbs are flying off people you encounter.

A Go Nagi Fighter/Muso Game: It would be bad ass to have Grendizer, Mazinkaiser, Shin Dragon, and Shin Jeeg all in one game tearing the crap out of each other or at least ripping through grunts.

A Simoun game in the vain of Macross Ace.

Can't of many others accept series that needed to be added to SRW.

Shin Mazinger
Mazinkaizer SkL (But this better not be added and have it be the first game with Dizer and Kaiser.)
Gundam OO
Kannazuki No Miko

Samurai Champloo still needs a proper adventure/action game. Maybe even set it after the show and follow Mugen and Jin on their adventures.

Although with Nujabes' recent passing, there'd be no opportunity for new music.

While I played the crap out of this game, I think it could've been a lot better. The loading times were way too long and the handling was pretty terrible in my opinion. I feel like like Special Stage and most of the Arcade Stages handled much better.

Since Sega recently announced Initial D Arcade Stage 6, hopefully they'll decide to release another (and better) PS3 version.

I also agree with the Cowboy Bebop Mass Effectish + space sim type of game

One Piece game. It just has so much potential. Wind Waker style exploring of the Grand Line and different Blues, epic sea battles, amazing and collectible fruit powers, atmospheric towns, memorabel characters, a decent story line, action-packed combatsystem, lots of variety...

It's a universe that screams to be explored in gaming form.

Make
It
HAPPEN!

Full Metal Panic done MGS style. Needs both serious military missions as well as the silly school based stuff, but both approached the same fashion by Sagara (mission briefing, planning, stealth action, etc).

I don't know how much of a game you could get out of the story but they could always make up a bunch of stuff for it to fit in. Nujabes soundtrack would be amazing even if they just reworked some tracks from the anime soundtrack. I would have loved to hear what Nujabes could have done working on a soundtrack from scratch.. RIP

One Piece RPG is my dream game. Every time I think about it I just get overwhelmed with ideas for how it could work.

I always thought Naruto would make a great game.Theres a lot of potential with all of the techniques and traps and such but in a fighting game environment everything is simplified and streamlined to where its not like the show at all.

It would be an online squad based game, 3 to a squad like the show (or 4 if thats better for people), third person view. It sort of reminds me of MGS Online but less clunky. You would be assigned a random ninja that has his/her own weaknesses and strengths. From there you decide with your squad who should be what class. You can choose whichever class you want but obviously it would be a good idea to have a healer.

It would be paced similarly to the show. You start off doing crappy side missions like catching cats etc. to build up your XP and earn money which you can use to buy clothes, items, and scrolls. When your squad reaches level 10 you get put into the Chuunin Exam, test 2. The forest of death portion.

fvvhab.jpg

Squads are set up around the perimeter of the forest. The goal is to get to the tower in the center of the map but you must have a black scroll and a white scroll. You'll be given one of the scrolls in the beginning which means you'll have to take the other scroll from another squad. You won't know which one they have so you might end up with 2 white scrolls and will have to continue your search. The terrain will be randomly generated every time to keep it fresh.

Once you pass the Chuunin Exam you will then be given normal missions that pit you against other squads. Defending, ambushing, escorting etc. And to go even further, the game could have the different nations pitted against each other. There would be a constant struggle for power, portions of land being taken over based on your battles.

This game would be fucking awesome and would go beyond being "just another anime cash-in game" but I know it will never be made. So sad.
