J-Dramas

I'm also enjoying Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi. While maybe not the funniest in my opinion, it is quite good.

I couldn't get past the first episode of HanaKimi. The fact that everyone is oblivious to her being a girl, combined with the manga-style influences made it tough for me to watch.

Too bad about Honey and Clover. I enjoyed the anime.

I think there is something up with him, i sure it will be revealed later on. And even tho Hotta looks like a fish, she kicks ass at Kendo.
Hotta is cute in a weird way. One pound gospel is good in it's own way, a nice jdrama to relax to.

HanaKimi is really quite funny...... I don't see why manga influences would make it hard to watch as they have been obvious in most of my favouate dramas recently. :-/ Does this mean you haven't watched Nodame? :o

Since I've watched Hana Yori Dango 2 I haven't really grown onto a series... :/

I tried Proposal Daisakusen but that didn't end that well.... First Kiss was meh too... Couldn't get into HamaKimi as much as I'd like either :(

Maybe I'll rewatch Gokusen... !

I don't really remember finding the first episode that funny, although it was a while ago since I watched it so I might be mistaken. Maybe it's also due to the setting and story. I think I'm a bit burnt out on High School comedy dramas.

I have watched Nodame and enjoyed it, but I think the story and characters helped to keep me interested. I just prefer dramas without over the top, slapstick comedy, such as Kekkon Dekinai Otoko and Tiger and Dragon.

Wow, this looks as melodramatic and cheesey as the show was. I'm there.

Saaaame. And it'll probably still make me squeal like a little school girl. :lol But I'm just a dork like that.

I need to bookmark this thread... I don't use torrent anymore but it seems now there are many sites that have flv video streams of these shows with subs :D

Time to get back my Hana Yori Dango lovefest!

Holy crap there making a movie for HYD?? Trailer was afw :lol

Well since I'm here might aswell ask. I'm in the mood for some J doramas. I watched HYD 2 (loved it), then Tokyo Friends (was meh) and a bit of First Kiss.

Anyone got any good recomendations?

I want to like the live action HYD, I really do.

But I can't get over my compulsion to bitch-slap MatsuJun :(

I liked Taiyou no Uta.

Figured I'd suggest that as I don't remember it being talked about. lol

What exactly are J-Dramas? Are they like American Soap Opera shows?

And GTO?

They have a show based on the anime? I loved the anime.

Is Bambino worth watching? I watched the first episode but didn't like it very much. I've been skipping through various dramas trying to find something that pulls me in.

I always find it hard for first eps to do get me into the story... this is not super quality acting here its all campy

Yeah, I know. I've watched quite a few j-dramas before but all of Bambino's characters annoyed me. I guess they will all probably become less grating in the later episodes when everyone presumably kisses and makes up but I'm not sure I could last to that point.

Bambino is a really tedious series. It is the same formula every episode and it can get boring, but I think it is somewhat entertaining. The characters for the most part are enjoyable to watch even if the scenarios arent, like the head waiter is hilarious.

Basically every episode is: Ban gets cocky and thinks he can do something > Ban realizes he sucks at doing it > Ban learns how to properly do it and overcomes problem > New Problem arises, but dont worry, Ban think he can do it no problem!

He could have them all if he wanted, male or female.

He couldent even eat an apple correctly until Domyouji was like "stop being a bitch and snap that apple".

HanaKimi is boring me now can't seem to get pass the 5th ep

too many dudes... I need a J-drama with lots of cute women to balance things off

is everyone gay in HanaKimi?

There are only two gay people in HanaKimi, well I think both are Bi...well I actually think everyone is bi or something.

Hana Yori Dango season 2

Yes and yes. Hana Yori Dango rocks. I'm such a sissy for loving it, but oh well.

Hana Yori Dango does rock

I'm happy it has just enough girls in it, eh did I say this right damn you HanaKimi!

that must be it :D

Hana Yori Dango is why more entertaining then it should be. But I am stuck on season two. Just can't push myself to finish it.

Anyone else watched Tantei Gakuen Q ? I love detective shows but it does come across as a bit messed up.

tantei gakuen Q is based on a manga/anime actually. I haven't checked it out, but I did see ads for it on TV when it first hit.

I have to find a torrent some time...

just looked it up wow this crunchyroll site is good seems to have many things

One good series that just finished is Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi. I havent finished it yet myself, the past 7 episode (of 10) I saw were awesome.

also, Nodame Cantabile is really good. My favorite 3 jdrama are Hana Yori Dango, Nodame, and GTO.

That was domyouji's fault. Rui totally should've stolen Makino away.

Makino would have been swooned with his violin playing for a second, then she would have seen him gratting an apple to eat with a spoon and been like "im am out of here, you are weird and make me wear a Shizuka mask anyway because she dumped you also, lol". Domyouji would kill himself before eating an apple that way.

Hrm, they're actually doing a J-drama based on the Korean movie My Sassy Girl...I like Rena Tanaka, but I can't stand seeing Tsuyoshi Kusanagi (SMAP) although he probably fits the role perfectly. That's really my dilemma with J-dramas though, I just want to see the cute girls, no guys please! :lol

Ahh, I had a feeling that was related to my sassy girl. I don't really like Kusanagi, as an actor. That "Around 40" drama looks like it could be good. Milf city.

Just a tip, don't watch Gokusen 2 immediately after Gokusen.

You'll burn out. :(

I was actually planning on doing that. Gokusen or Kimi Wa Petto were going to be the next show I watched (Matsumoto Jun being in both is total coincidence).

and Shikaotoko Aoniyoshi is such an awesome series, I really cant express that enough. The story in general is just so crazy and awesome. I have two more episodes to watch, but everything upto this point has been great.

Linkzg: The setup for season 2 is painfully contrived but characters continue to make it worthwhile. That being said, it's still pretty much the same story and uses the same cues over and over. I really hope they change things up for season 3, but at least they still have Sawatari (why have I not seen GIFs of this guy??).

Kind of like watching all of Slayers in one sitting.
78 eps in one sitting? You'd burn out for entirely different reasons. :P
