Jack Thompson vs Halo 3?

I don't what to write, I'm at lost for words. My brain can't comprehend the amount of retardness gushing out of that guy.

There are far worse things than videogames, but I guess he a sucka for sockermoms :D

Don't American lawyers have anything better to do with their damn law degrees these days. :x

Please don't associate other lawyers with this guy. As low as they are, they're saints compared to J-Tard.

While Jack is a complete loon, I actually...agree with him? Mature games shouldn`t be sold to minors. I can`t imagine why anyone would say otherwise.

Halo 3 is a Mature rated game for a reason.

He didn`t say "don`t sell it." He just said "don`t sell it to minors." I totally agree.

Halo 3 trains people to snipe?

Why is he going after MS then? His issue is with the ESRB and the retailers.

The only reason to focus on Halo 3 is so he can get the most possible publicity for himself. That's ALL. Some teenagers may be miffed at his argument that they shouldn't be able to purchase Halo 3 without mom or dad with them, but it's a reasonable argument. The ratings are there for a reason. Microsoft has NOTHING to do with whether or not this is allowed to happen though.

How does Halo even deserve an M rating? It should be T at highest, unless I'm forgetting an awful lot.

All of this "kids under 17 shouldn't buy Halo" is trash. Again, unless I don't recollect a lot about Halo (and if so, I apologize for the "trash" statement), there's no reason it shouldn't be T.

It has blood and it has language. It would be T by movie standards, probably, but game standards are more harsh than those that they hold movies to.

Peter Moore, if you're reading this...

If you get the Microsoft legal department to take down Jack Thompson, I will love Microsoft forever.

Hmm.. I recollect the blood being very non-noteworthy, but language maybe. Still, even with language and mild violence, wouldn't T be more apt?

Possibly. It's RIGHT on the border. It doesn't take much to get an M rating, and I think a large part of the reason Halo seems less violent is because it's always had a slightly cartoony look to it.

I remember a few of the flood levels being pretty gruesome which I believe is where the M rating comes from.

Yeah, the flood have lots of gore and spatter, that is probably why..

"In 1992, Thompson asked a Florida judge to declare the Florida Bar Association unconstitutional. He claimed that the bar was engaged in a vendetta against him because of his religious beliefs, which he said conflict with what he called the bar’s pro-gay, humanist, liberal agenda. The next month, Thompson faced disbarment over allegations that he lied while making accusations against prominent Dade County lawyer Stuart Z Grossman."

LAWL Almost had him.
