fernoca said:Well, I remember the 'rumor' about (possible spoiler?)some interview last year, talking about how the game/story was supposed to be just like an experiement, inside the mind of someone. Like what would happen if your mind was transfered to the mind of an assassin from that time and if you could change events and the fate of other people?? Or something like that......Kinda like The Matrix...
Couldn't have said it better. This is just an official YouTube fan-made trailer. Show me an actual game, Ubi.Nicktals said:Is the whole game in slow motion?
I guess I wasn't really feeling it much. I thought the earlier stuff seemed more fun. It's been in development for quite a while, and I still have no idea what is really going on.
Is this going to be playable at the event?

I agree with RandomVince. They look like amino acids.Das-J said:All I can make out at this point in the night is that is a complex array of simple gasses (hydrogen, oxygen, nitrogen, etc) held together by single/double, and possibly covalent, bonds.
Hopefully we have some real chemists in here who can come in tomorrow and figure this out!

Hype +1000%
I thought I read somewhere last year (here on the forum?) that the plot involves the concept of genetic memories? So, I guess, find a direct descendant of someone who was there at Jerusalem/Acre/etc. during that time period and, with some help through manipulation of the proteins that govern memory, you'll go back in time or some such craziness. I dunno. Weird shit.IJoel said:Don't know if this has been discussed, but has the following 'flash' at the end of the trailer been deciphered? Any chemists in here?

Also, the Assassin's Creed limited edition should come with Jade Raymond's panties.
Bah! This was a great trailer song and the GOW "Mad House" ad ruled precisely because of the contrast of music and content.InterMoniker said:I really couldn't stand that AC preview the song was f-cking ridiculous for a game like that. It would be like seeing a preview to some Assassin Movie and that stupid emo crap would come on.............. WTF? It reminds me of that horrible Gears of War "mad house" commercial that was deemed the best piece of video game cinema by some site or mag. I forget but there was a thread here for it :/

Co-Host of Video Game Show -> Producer of Assasin's Creed.
Yup, seems like a logical progression to me.
Nope, he started at Epic and went from bunny-game designer to gears of war creator to GAF lurkerZenith said:wasn't that CliffyB's path as well?

Yixian said:Hydrogen, oxygen and nitrogen are only gases when covalently bonded to themselves. A solid line between two single atoms indicates a covalent bond, two indicate a double bond. So this is a covalent molecule consisting of only H, O, N and C molecules - which is why people are thinking amino acid.
But this is bigger than any existing amino acid. I suppose it could be a peptide chain, but... well it doesn't really look like one, and obviously it's a few million times to small for a protein.
Could just be some randomly occuring hydrocarbon. Could just be random hocus pocus to look good.
Could even be a drug actually, looks a bit like one.

Also I think the diagram is slightly wrong as e.g. oxygen can only bond twice but some oxygens on the diagram are bonding 4 times.
Maybe they are showing intermolecular forces as lines aswell?
Edit: they definitely are. theres no other way any Hydrogen molecule could have 3 lines otherwise.
No, she has had other positions in the game industry. Programmer for Sony, producer at EA. I think she also worked for There Inc.FormulaOne said:I'm not to certain on the chronological rise of Jade Raymond, but I think it went something like this:

Yeah I'm grumpy and cynical this morning.

phil_fish said:alright.
but ill have to be careful as to not border on libel.
basicly, i know a couple of guys who used to work under her on assassins a couple of years ago (keep in mind that they started this project right after sands of time, same core team, etc etc).
just before i got fired from UBI, i was trying to change team and go do some level design on assassins as i though the game mechanics would let me have some fun, moreso than a kids game based on a CG movie. i interviewed with lead level designer, great kind, kindcrazy looking. i had a tattoo of sands of time's logo in his forearm. so did most team leads on that project, apparently. anyway, that never happened since..i got fired.
but basicly, what i was told is that Jade is a bit of a crazy B.
from what i hear, the project has been troubled for some time, lacking direction, substance and actual gameplay. they just had this guy climbing walls and swinging his sword and that was about it.
when i was applying for it, the game looked extremely promising. i was WAY excited about it. but then apparently, things started going sour.
so i guess Jade was under a LOT of pressure, assassins being UBI's bigmagecrazy nextgen flagship title and all that. it had an extremely long production AND pre-production period for a game at ubi, and it HAD to be good, and it seems it wasnt. what i was told is that she'd often take out on the team, in team-wide emails, all in caps, in bold and large type. she would "scream" at the lowly floor workers about how behind the schedule they were or whatever. etc etc. just generaly being angry and a bitch. which really isnt a behavior you want to see in your producer.
basicly what i was told is that she's extremely unpleasant to work with,
and given what i know now, i am happy i didnt work under her.
who knows if any of this is true.
i just plain dont like producers.
and Jade gets by by her looks, and i dont like that either.
so i dont like Jade.
somebody at marketting or whatever had the brilliant idea of making her the face of the game. and since then you cant have a thread about women in games without having it degenerate into a jade raymond wankapalooza. and i dont like that. she's the posterchild of women in games prettyyyy much because she looks good. you never hear about Heather Kelley, Robyn Hunicke, Brenda Brathwaite, Marie Flannagan, Erin Hoffman or Margaret Robertson. all women who actually create stuff. hell, Jane Pinckard too. and that ****ing pisses me off
also, did you know, she's half-asian.
Jade i mean, not jane. altho she is too.
ugh.
end rant.
Yixian said:Lol, wow, I didn't even notice. A hydrogen with a valency of 3... right...
You never indicate van der Waals on this type of diagram, and hydrogen bonds are dotted lines, so I'm guessing this is just a load of random letters and lines designed to look good.
Like the charecters that scroll down on the matrix - they don't mean shizzle.
