If Brain Training is beating WE, I wonder just how high BT sold for the week, or how low WE did, or if it's in the middle somewhere. :O

Hmm.. Is Sony selling PSP at a loss? If not, maybe they should consider price drops on both games and hardware.

Momentum leading up to the Revolution? :O
After seeing the response that the Japanese have had to the NDS, I have a strong feeling that the Revolution could do very well in Japan. North America and Europe are big question marks, but with all of Iwata's comments these past few years about resurrecting the declining gaming market, it seems that Nintendo's focus has been on rebuilding themselves in Japan first, and they've had tremendous success at doing that with the DS. And I can see Japan just eating up the Revolution as well.

I'm not sure if it is still being sold at a loss or not (although my guess is that it is), but Japan has the lowest retail price of any of the major markets, so they have less room to drop the price in Japan than anywhere else. It's weird, they intentionally started with a very low price on the PSP in Japan, and yet that seems to be their weakest market even though they had the best pricing in Japan.

Japan is the first market to have a white PSP, I want one but the idea of not being able to play US UMD movies is slowing my move to spend the $300 to import it :(

You already see the damage control the xbots use in regards to the graphical powers of the 360 to the Ps3. Just imagine if the revolution is in fact more powerful than the 360. I fear the Xbots will commit mass suicide. What will Microsoft have left to use against the Sony and Nintendo camps. The damage control will be epic. Just go to 1up or ign and see how the xbots are trying to mobilize a defense against the revo and the ps3.

Nintendo might accomplish what it set out to do. To save the video game industry from crashing. :lol

And even i am moderately surprised
"I think WE PSP's downfall is it's gauranteed not to have good word of mouth. In comparison to the PS2 version it apparently plays almost identical but has hardly any of the feautures or options or lastability."
i have never seen so many release day second hand copies of any game ever.
sad really :(

although "plays almost identical" is completely and utterly wrong, and that's exactly why i think it's probably getting returned by a lot of people.

"Looks almost identical" would be closer.

The trailer was so promising too. Oh well, I don't like sports games anyway, so I'm really only interested in its sales potential.

Tamagotchi though... geez, I hadn't even heard of this game until a week ago O_O

Tomorrow's numbers and hardware on Thursday should be really interesting!

I wonder if WE9 will fall to number 7 on Wednesday's daily numbers.

I think 18 is Warioware Touched

And that's... really damn good.

Can't believe after 5 months that Nintendogs is in the top 20. Can't believe that after 4 months, Brain Training is in the top 5.

I really don't see why you're so skeptical about the Revolution, especially if you like the DS so much. You not only get your classic games on the Revolution and free online play, but there's a normal controller shell as well. It could be huge in Japan looking at how much they love the DS and it could also do well in America seeing as how it is so sleek and is great for FPSs.

And just think, the Brain Training games took less than 4 months to develop and the development team was less than 10 people at it's peak.

Tamagotchi has always been a very big thing in Japan (more than 40 million Tamagotchis have been sold to-date, since the year 1996). Proves that you are not Japanese ;)

= $$$$$$$ for Nintendo. 2800yen * 500,000 copies = 1,400,000,000 yen in revenue... although of course they are not selling the games to retailers at 2800yen each.

Gonna wait for final numbers, but honestly if PSP does not outsell the DS considerably this week, I really think its the beginning of the end for Sony beating the DS in Japan.

WE and a new white PSP model should be no.1 without question.

Nintendo has so much friggin' software still to come in Japan too ... Mario Kart, Pokemon, Animal Crossing, Final Fantasy III, Xenogears, etc. .... its scary. For Sony, WE was probably the second biggest game they had next to Gran Turismo.

Brain Training might eventually reach 1.5 million sold which would make it a top 10 franchise in Japan now. I don't think there's been a game in Japan with those kinds of legs since ... well ... Pokemon.

Say what you want, but there's something happening here. Nintendo is on to something. I want to see Brain Training released here in the US.
