It’s certainly big enough to be a prominent tower on the Tokyo skyline
How the fuck did he come up with the whole esports assumption?
Doesn't make any fucking sense
We have posters here on Gaf that seems more reliable
"Esports demands hardware that is fast and capable of advanced video processing, not only for professional gamers, but also for amateur athletes and spectator fans. The high-spec, low-priced PS5 is for today's games. There is a possibility that it can become an international standard machine for e-sports instead of a personal computer. ”(Mr. Imanaka)
The data suggest that in the future, the number of PS5s could reach the order of 600 million or 700 million, four or five times the number of PS2s, which was the highest number ever for home video game consoles. Mr. Imanaka said, "If the number of transfers from PS4, which is backward compatible, is about 120 million, and if more than 100 million e-sports competition population and 400 million spectator population are added, PS5 will be 6 in total. It can be a market of more than 100 million units. "
Despite the pile-on that has already naturally begun here, just look at the metrics....
Look at how fast the pre-orders went, there are many indicators of how this console is in very high demand.
It has massive advantages over the competition in terms of back-catalogs coming forward, including PS-video , high budget exclusives with sequels due in the next 2 years and the brand strength worldwide, as well as a very broad demographic.
Also, in 2013 Sony was very tight on cash and at one of it's lowest points ever. Now it has plenty of cash, low debt and the backing of the Japanese government. If they want to break records, they have the means to do it...they just have to be smart about it.
The social media engagement metrics are also all off the freaking charts:Despite the pile-on that has already naturally begun here, just look at the metrics....

He finally got his preview uploaded, I see
Here in Europe? Sheesh! The PS5 mindshare is unrecognisable right now. It's been high before but this launch feels very different.
Doesnt make any fucking sense700 million units long term
And then the new switch comes out and eats Sony’s lunch in Japan...
Everyone. Literally everyone wants one.
i barely even posted in that that thread, back offThis shit is fucking embarrassing. I see you and your crew (the “Joined Jan-May 2020” crew) don’t keep the circle jerking in the Next Gen OT anymore. Bummer.
BUT IS THERE ENOUGH LIQUID METAL ON EARTH FOR 6+ BILLION UNITS?????? EVERYONE NEEDS ONE!

I would have hoped you all at least still attempted to disguise the agenda-posting but apparently it’s just full on Green Light now?
Well. I’ll try again later, probably a few months after consoles drop. Maybe the astroturfing will be curbed by then and things will be back to normal. Hopefully. I miss it.
