I don't know why this is such a big deal now. There have been LOADS of titles that have come out for a lot of multiple systems at once. Remember the DS and PSP days? Every system under the sun would get a version of a new big game. Not sure why this is even a thread.

As far as the color goes, remember the blue on the new Dualshock and the blue on the PS4 and the blue of the Vita boxes. That should give you some idea as to the color of PS4 boxes.

I'll never understand people's aversion to games being on as many platforms as possible. I'll also never understand people encouraging platform exclusivity for third parties.

Probably because of the discrepancy of the quality of the game. Isn't it well known the Microsoft requires parity of games between their platform and Sony's. Then there's the chatter about Red Dead Redemption (or battlefield, I don't remember) having to remove features or blood or whatever to match the Xbox version. I think you can see the worry.

Also, it's quite obvious the more focus their is on a product, the higher quality there is? Fuck man, look at Skyrim and shit. Imagine that was a PS3 exclusive, no fucking way would they let that game ship as poorly as it was on release day.

As for this other discussion, I think Sony wants to move away from 'Playstation' as a name and just focus on the abbreviation. Most people and kids have stopped saying, you own a Sony Playstation, or I'm getting a Playstation 4. They say I own a 'ps3', I preordered a 'ps4'. Who calls HP, Hewlett Packard still?

The name Playstation will still be around like Nintendo, but I think the abbreviation will just continue to take over.

I've been complaining about Ubisoft's yearly expansion pac.. I mean sequels for years now. When will you guys wake up and stop buying their shit?

They do. I didn't know the case itself would be blue. They look sharp. I'm also glad they went with that font for PS4, basically the same as PS3. Hopefully any future collection of mine won't look weird with different covers/fonts.

I am looking forward to trying AC4 on the PS4. Haven't played AC3 yet but from the reaction to that game I may just skip it.

I don't understand this thread. We're entering a period of cross-generation releases. Assassin's Creed has always been released on as many platforms as possible, it's only logical they're including the PS4/Xbone this time around.


Also - ACIII sold 13 million units, so that's why they're not burned out on it.

Whats confusing about what I said? I'd prefer it if they actually said Playstation on the box. It always annoys me when a company uses slang and abbrivations instead of their own name. Kind of like how Kentucky Fried Chicken calls themselves "KFC" now. Look at the old PS boxes:

I mean you don't see Microsoft putting X1 on their boxes.

X1 is terrible and confusing if you want to bring Roman Numerals into the equations. PS3, PS4.are both are straightforward abbreviations. It's a bold decision to just go with that as the title on the console boxes and game boxes.
