No it shouldn't, because fucking who?
the google account you login with can have 2-step auth if you opt-in on that (mine does/I have).
Who?
Why would people just immediately unsubscribe? That's unfortunate.

What the fuck is your problem?

If Youtube doesn't already, they need to be able to restore videos from their end in case something like this happens.
They should also allow users to restore content for a certain amount of time, like a month or so. I know that when you delete a video, the URL and metadata still exists for a while (like months), so that makes me wonder if the videos aren't actually deleted right away from their servers.
Neogaf I love you.
I'm not sure if that McDouche guy really got hacked or if he's being sarcastic or making a joke...

His videos are all backed, not only by Joel himself, but his fanbase.
Here's Vinny's stance on the situtation:

I pretty much agree with him. There's not much that can or should be done except to let Youtube do the rest.
Reading that it seem the point of entry was another service hacked 2 years ago, and the youtube accounts affected NOW had the same username/password as what they had on that 2 year old hacked service.
Or am I misunderstanding it?

There was an Xsplit info leak a couple years back and it's been confirmed this was the point of entry, yes. Both Joel and KY from Vinesauce were affected parties.
Surely they knew of this when it happened? That's why you always change the most important passwords after a breach of any kind, especially for something you use. Yikes...
Yeah, they should have changed passwords 2 years ago, and turn on 2 step too then.
Motherfucker's got LyleMcDouchebag's and YMS's twitters too.
Vinny on the Vinesauce reddit more or less said they're relying on Youtube to recover Joel's lost videos. I think the bigger deal is going to be him recovering from all the lost subscriptions since the channel is likely Joel's primary income nowadays.2 years without changing passwords is a bit insane. I rotate my passwords roughly every 6 months with anything that has access to important site related stuff.
That being said, obviously feel bad at times for him, but chillax a bit. YouTube CAN recover deleted vidoes and has done so in the past when accounts were compromised. So he should get everything back. The only thing that really hurts is all the lost subs. Nothing can be done about that.
But I am sure he'll land on his feet.
