Heres an interesting topic. Is the WWE forced to turn Cena heel? Think about it! Weather they like it or not, Cena will be entering WrestleMania as a heel. Weather they like it or not, Cena is entering the MITB PPV considered by many to be the heel. Sure not amongst women and children (although the women mainly like Cena for his looks so they shouldn't count too much. The WWE is about to drop the ball on what could be the biggest angle in long time. Punk is in a perfect position to be the top face and with a little help from fan bashing, Cena is in perfect position to be the top heel. The problem is regardless if we like it or not the ball is about to be dropped.
Vince McMahon doesn't realize that every damn word of what Punk said during his worked-shoot promo is considered by many to be the truth. Its considered every more of a truth with fans who have tuned out, the fans Vince claims he wants back. Vince doesn't realize that all the cheers, all the people who got behind CM Punk was thinking the exact same thing he was saying. That thing being Vince doesn't care what the fans want, and that is the problem. The main problem is CM Punk's promos may have accidentally changed the Face/Heel roles at the PPV in many peoples eyes. John Cena will be chewed up in Chicago. I personally would recommend a security escort if he is booked to win. However, come WrestleMania time, he will be chewed up by more of the WWE Universe than those who already resent him.
I was at the Garden this past Monday. I expected a gigantic pop for Cena. My ears were pleasantly surprised, even his hometown had a mixed reaction, more of a mixed reaction that other towns give him. The bigger problem they faced was that the more CM Punk opened his mouth, the more fans turned on hometown hero, John Cena. It is my belief that the WWE needs to shell out anything CM Punk wants to resign him, he is in perfect position to have an Austin like feud with Cena and McMahon that could very well see the resurgence of ratings, and possibly the end of TNA. For the record, I will say I respect everything Cena has done for the WWE and how hard he pushes himself nearly every night. In that sense I am a John Cena fan. I am not a fan of how John Cena is booked, and of how he refuses to step out of the spotlight to let a new star shine.
So I ask you this WrestleGAF, did the CM Punk promos accidentally put Cena in a heel position? Is the WWE forced to turn Cena heel regardless of his status come WrestleMania time?
