Jumping Flash and Gripshift now on PSN

your opinion...for me its not even close. While gthd is cool, its a demo and therefore should be compared to live demos. I havent even seen tekken available for the ps3 on psn..where is it? If its a psp game, its useless unless you own a ps3.....why do they list the lemmings demo in the demos section but you have to goto download games to find the demo for gripshift? And for christs sake, get the psp games into a separate tab already.....Sonycowboy, gripshift demo d/led fast as sin for me just now. Much faster than when I did my first firmware update.

You do know that there is a PS3 version of Tekken DR which is the arcade version with HD graphics. It has nothing get to do with the PSP whatsoever.

Whilst demos on PSN is lacking compared to XBL, it's been like what a little under 2 months since the PS3's launch so of course XBL has more content.

However, when it comes to downloadable games, PSN is definitely churning out stuff at a faster rate and it won't take long before it'll match XBLA in terms of the quantity of content.

pricewise, it's killing XBLA (and VC for that matter). quality wise, it's up there as well... the games being released are close to what you'd buy in retail given the amount of options and content. PSN downloads are doin' good. once the online community gets larger, it'll be a much improved service overall.
I'm also impressed with it.

I just never had the urge to buy any of the XBLA games (I mean, Geometry Wars rocks, but not much else beyond that). I've downloaded so many demos of them too (though I have to try Assault Heroes, as that looks nice).

The PSN selection is so much more interesting, however. The prices are lower too! I mean, Lemmings for $3??!? The PS3 version is absolutely awesome...and it was $3!

XBL is still a much better service elsewhere (loads of demos, other content, and great integration), but I just don't care for XBLA.

If Jumping Flash 2 was up, I'd clear everything I could off my memory stick to make room for it, since I don't own it and have trouble finding it.

I do want Jumping Flash to play on PSP, so I'll probably get it. I do need a larger Memory stick, unfortunately. :(

I pretty much agree too. On XBLA, I really don't care about buying any of the downloads. On PSN, I want to download the full version of almost everything.

Well, Lemmings went up to $6 unfortunately, but I bought it for that price. IMO, it was worth $6 too (very addicting).

so guys what exactly is gripshift? is it like trackmania? how many tracks? Split screen or online multiplayer?

It's a mix between Mario Cart and Super Monkey Ball. I think it has something like 25 tracks and has online multiplayer.

I mentioned this in the other thread... does Gripshift not support Dolby Digital?

Not a big deal, just want to make sure my receiver is handling the audio correctly. All other games/movies seem to behave correctly.

You know, that's another game that would be PERFECT for the PSN (Trackmania Sunrise).

It's a shame it will never happen...

Thats what I am asking...where is this tekken dr on psn? Japan only? That doesnt help me.

Listen, I know the psn is new and will only get better. Its had a pretty good start but for someone to say its better than xbl already is just plain fanboyism. Especially when listing 1 demo, and a game not available in the us(tekken dr), and psp/ps1 games.

And wouldnt it be cool to actually speak with your friends while playing gripshift online? or are you satisfied with just imagining them screaming?

I completely disagree. There are more than one demo that makes PSN great so far (MotorStorm, F1 CE, GT HD, etc. are great), along with its other downloads (Blast Factor, PS1 games, etc.). I personally feel the majority of content on XBL is filler content that's not really worthwhile (especially older arcade games selling for $5-$10).

I'd say yes and no to the 2nd response. Talking to friends can be nice, but some random people at times are very annoying.

When I think about it more, playing Jumping Flash on PSP would be really cool. I may see if I can clear some music and other content from my memory stick and download it.

Super Monkey Ball + Stunt Car Racer + Elastomania. www.gripshiftgame.com

Sort of. Trackmania is more focused on racng. GripShift is more focused on platforming.

150 levels including25 race tracks which are available in the Race Mode.

Split screen or online multiplayer?

No split screen. 4 player online multiplayer.

We are looking to add this through an update as well as the ability to make private rooms.

Sorry to bump this thread. Didn't want to create a new one just to ask this.

Why is GripShift now at 10.99$ (was 9.99$) on the PS Store?

Not sure. Then again Lemmings also jumped in price after a while (from $2.99 to $5.99).

This is news to me. There was no shift in price point planned.

Is this on the standard US PSN Store? Is it maybe a sales tax which is also applied to other games? Are you located in the US or overseas?

Either this is true or... Mario's photo reported here in this post is not a photoshop... evidence:

They used a wide angle lens on those shots. Makes my moneybin look much larger than it actually is.

Damn, now that I think of it, I was checking the store via the account of a canadian friend. Must have been 10.99 Canadian dollars. Sorry for the confusion.

I never had a chance to Jumping Flash on the PS1. I really dig it so far. However-

Is there any way to strafe in the game (move sideways)? Or any way to do a quick 180 turn?

Have you (or anyone else) encountered any issues with Jumping Flash? I was playing it the other day (ripped from original disc, not from PS store) and I had it randomly crash on me. Also the slow motion power up seemed a lot slower than it should be, but its been too long since I played it on PS1 so I don't know if the emulator has issues or if it really should be that slow.

Nope, no issues here. I played to world 3-1.

It actually crashed on me during the cutscene after I finished World 3. But it might just be a random thing, the emulator crashed on me at least one other time (playing Crash 2, ironically) but I didn't have any problems when I went back to the part where it crashed.

So, do you know the answer to my question? (How to strafe, or do a quick 180)?
