Via Variety.

Briefly: Last Friday, when Joseph Gordon-Levitt was confirmed for Christopher Nolan‘s The Dark Knight Rises, there was also word that actress Juno Temple was being eyed for a role. Now she is confirmed for the film, and will reportedly play “a street-smart Gotham girl.” That could mean a lot of things — she could literally be a very tertiary character who just has a small role. But the description also sounds just enough like Frank Miller’s version of Robin from the original Dark Knight mini-series that there has already been a good amount of speculation about the reality of the role.

My money is on Holly Robinson. Young prostitute who lives with Selina Kyle, has been trained and is now better known as Catgirl: DERP DERP

Bring it. Frank Miller characters FTW. No need for Catgirl though, there's too many characters going on in this thing.

Holly Robinson isn't actually Catgirl. That's Kitrina Falcone, some new character (unfortunately and unnecessarily) introduced by Tony Daniel. Although Holly was Catwoman for a while, she's not traditionally a costumed character.

Holy screw-up, Batman.

Some article mentioned it and i got mixed up. So much stuff to read that i really need to catch up with my Dick Grayson Batman :/

I still love Holly Robinson though

Thought it was a fact since it semed natural for her to become Selina's sidekick, huh.

I fell off from the whole batman reborn thing after a couple of Batman and Batgirl issues. How is it so far though ?

I hope all this casting is an effort to really throw people off as to what to expect. What would be interesting would be if the first 30-40 mins of the movie is actually a montage-like sequel of Batman fighting the entire rogue's gallery over the years post-TDK, but without any of them having much to do with the actual plot. We see Bruce Wayne get increasingly worn out from fighting the lonesome battle, and it climaxes with Bane breaking Batman once and for all.

Then the real movie starts. No Batman. No action. Just a psychological drama about a crippled Bruce Wayne having to rebuild his life and his mind, and going through physical and psychological therapy to rid himself of the ghosts of his past. It will with him finally coming to terms with his recovery and his life's mission, and taking the first steps after getting out from his wheelchair.

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES.

Do you realize what you just did.

The movie will never live up to the hype now.

Shit just got real.

But then we'd have to wait forever for the inevitable Batman RIP movie.

This movie is going to be Spiderman 3-2. Hahahaha.
Man don't even joke about that. I still can't get rid of my still-wrapped Spiderman 3 Blu-ray. No one will take it.

Well it was designed by a little girl so it's to be expected.
Unless she's 7, there's no excuse. Why would Catwoman even let her go out like that? Nothing says stealth like pink boots. It's like the writer was just fishing for things that little girls might like. "Uh... Uggs and bracelets... and pink!"

Are you trying to cater to my taste.

Stealth? Batman has a giant yellow bat on his chest. Catwoman barely has ANY control over this brat. The pink is the least of her issues. The costume makes complete sense given her age and bent mentality.

I'm kinda confused why he's going balls out with all this be casting. Is this movie going to be 3 hours or something? I like long movies anyways but damn.

Do we know the main villain yet?

Yes, Holly is an amazing character and I doubt including her would bloat the film too much, so I'll be extremely happy if it's her. And yeah, in Brubaker's run she was basically Selina's sidekick, just without a costume, so I can see why you would jump to that conclusion.

As for all the Batman titles going on right now, obviously with so many you've got a mix of quality. But in general they're putting out some of the best Batman stuff ever. (Granted, I'm a fairly new comic book fan.) Miller's Batgirl has been a lot of fun even if it's not Cassandra. Batman and Robin was pretty awesome until Morrison stopped writing for it (can't speak for it now, I haven't caught up). Detective Comics (featuring Dick as Batman) by Snyder and Jock is so good it's one of the only books I'm breaking my trade-wait rule for. Greg Rucka and JH William's Detective Comics (this time featuring Batwoman) is also probably one of the best books to come out in the past years, so you might want to look into that. Basically, there's a lot of good Bat books out there right now, but of course it all depends on what you like. I've been enjoying the ride so far.

I wasn't talking about Batman and that was stupid too. It was only made that way so it could be tradmarked. That's why I was glad when it was done away with. Too bad it was brought back. Even so, it's just a small circle that they explain away with drawing fire for his flak protected chest.

Anyway, whether it "makes sense" or not (I don't feel like it does), it's horrible and ugly and Catwoman should be ashamed.

Awesome, thanks for the impressions.

I was really liking Batgirl, so i think im gonna return to that as well as some Detective Comics (or any other Batman book) while i catch up with some other stuff. Being a dedicated comic book reader is fuckin tough these days :/ at least on my schedule.

You are a better script writer than mod ;P

So, recap:

Christian Bale as The Goddamn Batman/Bruce Wayne
Michael Caine as Alfred
Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon
Anne Hathaway as Selena Kyle
Tom Hardy as Bane
Joseph Gordon-Levitt as ???
Juno Temple as Bat-Mite ???

compared to

Bale as Batman
Caine as Alfred
Oldman as Jim
Morgan Freeman as Lucius Fox
Maggie Gyllenhal (sp?) as Rachel Dawes
Heath Ledger as The Joker
Aaron Eckhart as Harvey Dent

I'm not seeing a problem here.
