Jurassic World Official Trailer

For those saying you can't wait until we eat crow: You know opinions can change with new trailers/seeing the movie, right? It's like the Mario 3D World reveal that looked generic/bland as hell. All we have to go on is a first impression. And that looked like Saturday morning Russian CGI cartoons.

If it gets better, fine. It has nothing to do with "eating crow." The trailer looked awful. Visually. Line delivery. Everything.

IT COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER

lol what is that

Well...in the films raptors are highly intelligent right? "Smarter than dolphins, whales, they were smarter than primates" according to Allan Grant. And if they bond so well as implied as babies, why not?
The smarter the animal the harder to domesticate. Look how humans struggle and fail in their attempts to domesticate the orca whale.

yup. I hope to God it turns out good. I fucking would love a good Jurassic Park movie.

The trailer is just atrocious in every conceivable way is all

That last scene...The raptors aren't...good guys in this movie are they? I remember reading the leaked scenario for JPIV back in like 2004 and it was
genetically engineered raptors that helped humans...

This isn't that...right?

Those are absolutely trained raptors that got out and hunt with Pratt. Script leak confirmed this.

CGI looks pretty rough and unfinished, shame the movie is coming out tomorrow, who knows how much better it could have looked if it had another 7 or so months in post or something.

I liked the futuristic park half of this trailer more than the slasher-dino half.

In the context of the movie and book, it make perfect sense

In the book, the only reason they didn't play God and make new dinosaurs was because Hammond didn't want that. Wu was all for them testing their limits and making something new

And now Hammond's dead and Wu is running the research...

Plus, theme parks always go for bigger and better. In-universe, the park has been open for a decade. Dinosaurs aren't the draw they once were. So what else does a theme park that wants to draw in more people? Make something bigger, better, more over the top to attract them

I think it makes a ton of sense

Thank you. More_Badass is the only one of you that makes sense!

Jurassic Park is probably one of my favorite movies ever and I even liked JP2 and even JP3 but I will admit that trailer looked pretty bad. And I'm not one to think like that. There are barely any movies I don't like, I liked Godzilla 2014. But man was everything that wasn't an actor in that CG? And really child protag?

Yeah whoever heard of kids in Jurassic Park?

Does Chris Pratt control a pack of velociraptors that help him hunt?

Because if so, I'm going to see this movie 10 times.

Way to deflate the hype, guys.

CG is not really making the franchise any better. Also: better not start talking about the "dialogue" or all the tropes present on that trailer alone. I will still watch it, but... yeah. Not really hoping for anything good now.

I'm more in a "Sure, I'll see this" shrug than any hype or disappointment.

One thing that was a bummer in the sequels (and I don't know how JW will play them out), we went from characters with some depth in the first film to summer blockbuster archetypes just to be cannon fodder.

Why does everyone complain about cgi when a film is 6 months away? You know it's not finished.

Anyways, movie looks great.

The twist is that this is actually Barney Begins.

The gritty reboot train stops for nothing.

"I never said 'I love you'"

"And you love me so you never have to".

Barney jumps off the roof and swoops over the island, with a small grin forming on Chris Pratt's face.

CUT TO BLACK.

CREDITS.

BARNEY BEGINS

Jurassic Park was cool because it took something you loved as a kid, and made it a legitimate and cool thing for your parents to enjoy as well. That film vindicated my childhood in a way. This just looks stupid.

Quoting myself for a new page. I feel this is a relevant argument as to why people are disappointed. JP was Spielberg looking at me going "Hey kid, you know that stupid thing you love? Well, I'm gonna make everybody see how amazing and dangerous dinosaurs really are."

I don't know if this film really needs to exist. They made dinosaurs real and scary, why make them silly and tame again? Feels like a pre-JP dinosaur movie.

They do this every single time and it baffles me. "What, this unfinished movie has unfinished effects! Clear it will be direct to DVD Brazillain knockoff level in the cinemas!".

I guess, but chimps are highly intelligent and we can get them to do all kinds of shit. Can you paint the entire animal world like that? I mean they're velociraptors lol, who knows how it'd be taming them. It's just sci-fi anyway, I can go with it.

So a plot idea that has been awful since David Boreanz was attached in 2004 is still in the movie.

So weird that that thread has hung on for over a decade.

Have to say, I did role my eyes at the two kids and especially the mom saying: "If anything pursue you... RUN."

GET IT!? Dramatic irony!

Honestly... Meh.

The whole focus on genetically modified dinosaurs moves this movie away from "nature vs man" story that I wanted to see in Jurassic film franchise. This is now SF film in which highly capable alien creature is hunting humans in a zoo.

Genetically engineered dino is the dumbest idea ever. And the raptor motorcycle gang was meh.

BUT YESSSSSSSSS. Day one. Midnight. Both. Something. I'm there.

Complaining about the graphics in a trailer is pretty much the same as complaining about the graphics in a in-production game preview. It is legitimate criticism since this is what the people behind the work wanted to put out there for people to comment on. So people are of course going to comment on it. And it is good because sometimes people who are making these things are so caught up in their work they need an outside perspective to remind them "uh hey guys, better tighten up those graphics", because even the obvious things are missed when deep in production.

I know people keep saying 6 months blah, blah, blah. But can a lot change in 6 months? Serious question, I would imagine what they've shown in terms of cg is complete if not then it must certainly be near the visual fidelity they're aiming for.

is this movie a reboot? Nothing in the previous movie relates to this?

doesn't look very interesting to me. Original was amazing because of Spielberg and the amazing animatronics/CGI.
