Jurassic World Official Trailer

I know people keep saying 6 months blah, blah, blah. But can a lot change in 6 months? Serious question, I would imagine what they've shown in terms of cg is complete if not then it must certainly be near the visual fidelity they're aiming for.

Yes.

I'm still hyped, it's died down a bit but I've been waiting for this for 10 years.

Just gimme cameos from the original cast and more Pratt and his Raptor Gang kicking ass.

Just don't be dark and miserable as JP3. And I liked JP3.

Giving this a bump, since it was an end of a page post.

Chris Pratt, velociraptors, guns, motorcycles...

How do you fuck that up?

Yeah whoever heard of kids in Jurassic Park?

Those kids weren't the protagonists, that scene was the only one they had on their own. Grant was the protagonist. Hopefully Pratt has way more time than what the trailer makes me think that it'll be at least 50/50 kids/Pratt

Eh... I don't know.

I always though JP worked so well because it's set against a contemporary backdrop. It's sci fi, but nog "high" sci fi. I'm getting different vibes from this trailer and I don't really like it. I also don't like the fact that they've cooked up some sort of über-saur.

Still going to see it though.

I could stomach JP 3. I'll be able to take this.

Why does everyone complain about cgi when a film is 6 months away? You know it's not finished.

Anyways, movie looks great.

They do this every single time and it baffles me. "What, this unfinished movie has unfinished effects! Clear it will be direct to DVD Brazillain knockoff level in the cinemas!".

Someone needs to gif that with a "haters gonna hate" caption.

I liked the trailer. I'm sure the CGI will look better in June too.

Yes, but RIGHT NOW, it looks horrendous.

Well, The Lost World was fantastic imo (sans the ridiculous gymnastics shit lol), so sure :)

The Lost World is a messy film to say the least, but that movie fucking went places and had plenty to say; and that's what I hope Jurassic World does.

That's where JP3 massively failed and combined with the fact that it's just a lazy rehash of JP and TLW ideas with zero worth as a piece of filmmaking. I will never acknowledge that movie as canon.

Thank you. More_Badass is the only one of you that makes sense!

Is this where More_Badass eats a leaf off of his arm and you facepalm?

The only thing that seriously bugged me was that stock audio sample of a crowd gasping when that prehistoric alligator chomped on that shark. I'm so sick of hearing that sound effect in what are supposed to be big tentpole blockbuster films. What, you can't have your extras all scream in panic into a mic?

Really don't understand why people hyped this movie, given the script and players involved. It really didn't have a shot at being good, and now...looks awful.

People are gonna keep acting like seven months in post production won't help CG for this movie, so this is kind of a moot point...

Quoting myself for a new page. I feel this is a relevant argument as to why people are dissapointed. JP was Spielberg looking at me going "Hey kid, you know that stupid thing you love? Well, I'm gonna make everybody see how amazing and dangerous dinosaurs really are."

I don't know if this film really needs to exist. They made dinosaurs real and scary, why make them silly and tame again? Feels like a pre-JP dinosaur movie.

Yes. This is exactly it. It's also sad how so many people are OK with just getting another dumb movie.

I'm a huge Jurrasic Park fan but it doesn't mean I have to like whatever shit they put the Jurassic Park name on. This looks way too stupid.

Will watch day one and hope its good.

CGI will no doubt receive a huge upgrade before release.

Otherwise the film looks better than JP3 already and that makes it watchable, warts and all.

Honestly... Meh.

The whole focus on genetically modified dinosaurs moves this movie away from "nature vs man" story that I wanted to see in Jurassic film franchise. This is now SF film in which highly capable alien creature is hunting humans in a zoo.

I always saw the theme of Jurassic Park as "science gone too far". That their "playing god" is what caused their downfall. This takes that idea even further.

The first movie had genetically modified dinos... using frog DNA. And if the park was a success, what do you think the natural progression would be?

Not only that but Henry Wu in the novel was extremely in favor of genetic engineering to create new dinos. Hammond was against it. They've probably just incorporated this plot aspect into the movie universe and made it just an "unseen" point. The Masrani viral site basically says as much:

Masrani Corporation's Chief Operations Officer Mr. Richard Wiesner described the year's success as merely acceptable. "You can't expect the world's greatest theme park to merely rely on the same attractions. We need to be proactive, thinking of bigger and better things. Isla Nublar only peaks in attendance during the American holiday season. Why? Proximity. The world has seen what we have to offer, but they aren't in awe as they once used to be. We need to change that. We have a chance to over the upcoming few years."

Thank you. More_Badass is the only one of you that makes sense!
It's funny. When I first heard the plot, I thought it was so stupid. But after re-reading the book, and reading the backstory and the discussion in the other thread, my opinion changed. The whole idea really just works and fits in with the themes of Jurassic Park

I don't think the raptor thing is so unbelievable. In the first one it was obviously a big point that they are highly intelligent. I can see (within that world) that they were able to basically train them. I'm sure a big point of the movie is them going to be going over the safeguards they have in place, but life finds a way.

How many films have had trailers that had mediocre CG, to releasing with photorealistic CG later on? None. This is like when Terminator Salvation defenders were quoting McG saying CG-Arnold was going to look completely real in the end.

Yep. That's all I want.

I don't need an Oscar contender. Just something with Dinos that is better than JP3.

Script needed grown up Lex as a bad ass dinosaur huntress.
Hell, make the next movie Jurassic World End; post apocalyptic, Lex riding around a ruined, Dino-destroyed world on a genetic, domesticated raptor. There's gotta be a scene where she back-flip kicks a baby stegosaur into a Rex's mouth, making it choke because it gets stuck in the throat.

Then make Jurassic Galaxy, which of course ads space shit and such.

Even if the CGI looks amazing, the whole movie just feels like a disaster. My love for random dinosaurs means I'll probably rent it, but I can't justify seeing it in theaters unless by some miracle it actually receives decent reviews.

It's probably going to suck, but it's Jurassic Park. It's fucking dinosaurs. Seeing this day one and will buy day one on 3D Bluray, even if it sucks.

Honestly, parts of that looked like a slightly higher budget Syfy movie or TV miniseries. The lightning and camerawork looks so fucking flat and by the numbers.

I'm so, so disappointed.

Just a few quick shots, but the CGI is not that impressive.

I feel like I've already seen this before. I can't get excited at all from the premise.

I've got Chris Pratt overexposure. I like the guy, but does he have to be in everything?!

My favorite was the people at the aquadrome taking pictures with their tablets.

Also, the amount of water that would be splashed by that thing would be far higher wouldn't it? It seemed giant yet a tiny splash.
