Jurassic World Official Trailer

I was digging it until the super dinosaur. The thing about the first JP was that they were in uncharted territory, and human greed brought it all down. Making a super dinosaur when nothing has come out of the research but death just seems asinine.

But then the Chris Pratt riding with raptors happened, and I realized this movie isn't trying to be as serious as it seems.

I know people are hyped because this is Jurassic Park but this is really just a bad trailer. Makes the movie look terrible. I think the worst was the dialogue. It sounded so fake and unconvincing. I'm sad that I have to watch all my favorite movies of my childhood die the slow death of Hollywood milking.

Glad I'm not the only one. The entire plot of the movie sounds so stupid.

Star-Lord on a motorcycle riding along Velociraptors is really stupid. It's definitely got that ten year old boy appeal going for it. I still want to see it despite this though.

What about someone who's genuinely excited for it and thinks it looks great?

The first scripts from JP4 had them mixing raptor and human DNA, won't be surprised to this be a twist in JW.

Am I wrong to find this damn cool?

Perhaps if it wasn't used for a "Jurassic Park" film.

and yet here you are, getting hyped about a movie after you seen the trailer...
Maybe you can learn what being hyped means?
I passed no judgement on the movie that I have not seen, being hyped for something (which I was before the trailer btw, given that I love the book, the first movie and like the other two) means that I want to see it and have some expectations for it, something that is very different to going "OH SHIT STARLORD AND PACK OF RAPTORS BEST MOVIE EVER" or "THE CG SUCKS TAMED RAPTORS WTF THE MOVIE IS GARBAGE" (paraphrased of course) as many are going in this thread.
Besides, you can have an excellent trailer and the movie still be garbage, like Man of Steel.

And Ann Heche looked crazy hot in that opening.
That's Judy Greer.

Eh, the whole concept of dinosaurs escaping and attacking people feels played out. This movie just seems to offer more of the same.
Exactly.
Cue the new dinosaur.

The people (teens) this is for probably don't know the first one :/
So they don't give a shit.... Remember that last Indiana Jones?

That original script was pretty insane and amazing lol

I almost feel sad that instead of Chris Pratt leading regular trained raptor bros into battle we could've had Chris Pratt leading trained Teenage Mutant Black Ops Iron Man Raptor bros into battle against the drug cartel and their dino enforcers

Lol I can't stop laughing after reading that. It's hilariously insane. Just change the ne from Jurassic park to something else and this would be an awesome movie for sci-if channel.

How many reasons could you have for a park to go south? Did you guys all want Nedry to turn the park's power off again or something?

...

Actually, that doesn't sound half bad. Nedry's son this time, maybe.

Do you really think she climbed that wall Chris Pratt?

It depends.

On What Chris?

It depends on what kinda dinosaur they cooked up in there.

The only good post Jurassic Park influenced story:
Dinosaurs on a spacship

I don't mind cheese but why not go actually fun rather than 'cheese'. Some of that was not comedy. Problem with the CG is the textures seem to be there almost as 2D models; theres no depth for example when they pass one in a bubble machine.

Also the water dinosaur just needs the water changed to dark blue and will be fine; the issue in the wideshot is he looks so out of proportion as its clearly a shallow pool.

The mutant dino sounds like a B movie but it could work to bring something new to the table; that depends on what that new is, if its a T Rex with long arms and a big brain then nope.

PS: Am calling that any notable actor/ess dies in the first 30 minutes and we're left with the kids on the island trying to get home. Theres a big big lack of scenes between them and anyone else but they are clearly the main characters.

While the execution of the film will be subject to harsh debate. I dont get the comments regarding the stupidity of the Plot.

So here's the thing

1. Jurassic Park was brought out whole by Ingem and they developed it into a successful commercial property, which ran supposedly without incident for 10 years.

2. However, like all things, interest wanes and park visitor numbers begin a sharp decline because Dinosaur's are "old news" (like old tech phones which are replaced now at a fast pace)

3. Execs, wanting to bring back the crowds need new attractions to make it worthwhile. What would excite the masses? New Dinosaurs of course! New Scary Dinosaurs!

4. Dr Wu, who is an advocate for more genetic tinkering in the books, helps create brand new Dinos.

5. Shit happens.

None of it seems farfetched and seems in line with what the books were trying to warn of (genetic tinkering without ethics or thinking "should we?")

CGI looks bad but story looks worse.

It's not hard to do a dinosaurs hunting people on an island story. This looks way too fucking stupid.

No, 3 is like the Need for Speed movie. Remove all of the plot and it's pretty enjoyable.

The premise is the least offending. You'd have to remove the non-characters (everyone), deplorable writing and embarrassing direction before blocking out the plot in my mind.

Fuck the haters. I thought trailer was awesome minus some stiff dialogue. My hype train is rolling full speed ahead with a trained raptor at the controls. CHOO CHOO MOTHER FUCKERS!!!

Wow, what a fucking awful trailer. Already annoying kid characters, Starlord looking like some generic b-tier direct-to-video action hero and the plot of a new hybrid dinosaur is stupid, too (even in terms of JP movie plots). T-Rexes and velociraptors aren't deadöy and exciting enough, no, we need something even more dangerous. Ugh.

I can already tell that whatever story-line involving those kids is going to be turrrrible. The CGI also looks pretty bad. And the idea of a super mutant dinosaur is dumb, considering they could actually just adapt real dinosaurs. Obviously this has never been a super-realistic universe (clever girl), but that would be infinitely better than some mutant dinomonster.

I guess I'll just continue to watch Jurassic Park and pretend like it was the only movie in the series.

Meh. I'm not hyped.
Will probably watch it when my friend buys it, until then. I don't think so, unless I am treated to the movie.

Yup, the plot of this film is very much in line with Crichton's original intent in the novels. If he were alive to write a third novel, it would probably resemble what we're seeing here.

DAT last scene on the motorbike leading the raptor pack... I dunno man...I dunno.
Is this the Last Crusade to 1993's Raiders version of Jurassic Park?

Also: Hope they will get to a point where the hero cast is alone, the island deserted around beginning of Act2. Otherwise this will not feel like Jurassic Park.
In 1993 the hurricane and no mobile phones made that plot possible, now I can't find a reason why noone wouldn't just call the military in to fly everyone out and turn it into a Cloverfield/Godzilla movie.

Chris Pratt already showing us he will never measure up to Harrison Ford

He's got Han Solo nailed for sure but lacks dat screen presence to pull off a more serious character, let alone dramatic roles in the future

I bet he's gonna be stuck with being the wisecrack guy in future films

How about no cellphone towers in the island?

Involving the military is a great way to shut down the Island, and associated revenue.
They'll probably try to deal with things up until the very last minute when that thing actually start eating park visitors (which will probably be in Act 3.) Up until then it'll be them on the Restricted areas of the Island trying to catch the Dinosaur.

That original script was pretty insane and amazing lol

In 2006, Bill Monahan and John Sayles wrote a script for "Jurassic Park 4". The dinosaurs have spread through the world and a drug cartel in Mexico has captured and tamed a group of Velociraptors and Tyrannosaurus Rex, which are used as enforcers.

Mercenary Nick Harris is hired by John Hammond, whose company has been taken over by Grendel Industries, run by Baron Von Drax, to infiltrate Isla Nublar and retrieve the DNA samples stolen by Dennis Nedry, which Hammond intends to use to create a new batch of asexual dinosaurs that can slay the existing dinosaurs and rectify Hammond's mistake.

In the island, Nick is ambushed by Excavaraptors and rescued by mercenaries hired by Grendel Industries, who capture and transport him to a secret research center in the Swiss Alps, where Nick meets Dr. Adrian Joyce, a brilliant geneticist who has created five hybrids with traces of human DNA, dog DNA and dinosaur DNA. The hybrids have been commissioned by the United States government as black ops operatives, and, due to his extensive military background, Nick has been selected to train and lead them.

The Hybrids are named Achilles, Hector, Perseus, Orestes and Spartacus, and can speak, wield guns and operate advanced suits of armor. Nick then leads them in battle against Mexican drug cartels and their dinosaur enforcers, who had taken an entire small town hostage and threatened to kill its inhabitants if the United Nations don't answer to their demands.

Holy shit, that's off the fucking chain. There's only one man who could possibly direct something like that: Hideo Kojima.

You mean, like in zoos, where they invent new animals every 10 years?
We need to use Crichton rotating in his grave as a power source.

Nothing like sizing up a guy's entire career from three lines of dialogue in a trailer. lol.

wow this movie looks like crap, the CGI really isn't impressive, though I guess in IMAX it MIGHT be worth it. The plot seems stupid, it's the kind of movie you know the ending before watching and it gets annoying

Why another "grand opening of the park goes to shit because humans are too fucking dumb/arrogant" garbage plot AGAIN?? It's almost exactly like the first movie even down to those kids going to park like in the original, only difference is that this one seems to include a "lolz genetics is evil, humans playing god" wait, that was an underlying theme in JP, too.

Blah, terrible. Universal is desperate for big franchises, they don't have WB or Disney's luxury of comicbook franchises so they are going to the morgue and are looking for corpses like JP. Sad.
