Agreed, I love driving towards a gas station or into oncoming traffic and parachuting out at the last second!

Game Informer Review - 9
* Story weakest link.
* Virtually everything improved over the first.
* Even the most formulaic side missions are fun.
* No penalty for dying outside of missions and checkpoints are generous.
* Can call in a helicopter for extraction to cutdown on travel time.
* Attention to detail is unparalleled and makes open-world games that solely focus on urban environments feel downright mundane.
* 368 locations to discover and explore.
* Until you upgrade your weapons or get your hands on some heavy-duty firepower, the gunplay feels underwhelming.
* Difficulty later in the game borders on being frustrating.
* No multiplayer a disappointment.
* None of the issues diminish the countless memorable moments Just Cause 2 provides, born out of the spontaneous chaos the player creates while simply exploring the world.
Hell yeah. At this point, that was my only remaining concern about the game. IIRC, the press was pretty hard on the first game (and with good reason), so seeing these positive reviews is really encouraging.* Even the most formulaic side missions are fun.
This is what I want. Hanging from my own helicopter, I want to string two enemy copters together and watch them collide and rain fire.. great explosions in this game, btwbig_z said:i wish you could use two or three grapple hooks at once. im guessing it's too much for the physics to handle but the insanity would be fantastic.

That would be Just Cause 3.big_z said:i wish you could use two or three grapple hooks at once.
LovingSteam said:Can you imagine multiplayer in this type of world?!?! Also, someone had a great idea that is hopefully implemented later on in this game: upgrades to your grapple hook. Imagine being able to shoot the grapple from the ground all the way up to the summit of a mountain!

UFRA said:So I was not really impressed with the demo, but I only spent like 30 min with it.
I'll spend more time in the demo and put my grudges aside, but one thing's for sure - the controls need to be polished up more in the final version for me to even consider getting this.
Well, that's a relief. If game journalists find it frustrating then I'll probably find it to be a healthy challenge.* Difficulty later in the game borders on being frustrating.
According to their podcast (I think it was the December episode), the grappling hook doesn't get any upgrades.Clevinger said:I thought I heard that there were upgrades for the grappling hook in the full game.

Has perfect 360 controller support. So much so that I do everything with the pad until I need to shoot stuff in a chopper where I use my mouse since it aims much faster, then put my hand back on the pad and continue flying. All works flawlessly.Big Ass Ramp said:New to me! By the way, I downloaded this on the 360 and it is a much better version to play over the PC, mainly because of the controller. They used some nice cheats to keep it looking nice, I think. Like when you go underwater, there is a distinct transition between underwater and above water, like they are using completely different assets.Hawkian said:Indeed, as far as I'm concerned this game is setting the bar for future open-world games in terms of graphics.

I initially thought this too but found once you had a controller plugged in the PC version was a lot better. If you have a decent enough rig the PC version will walk circles around the console versions in all aspects (pop in, general graphics, performance, resolutions, etc).Big Ass Ramp said:New to me! I can't tell if you're serious, GI's scores are always inflated.darkwings said:wow a 9 from Game Informer is really good. I hope it gets some good sales.

rohlfinator said:The only thing I miss about the original is parasailing behind cars/boats. Is there any way to do that in this game, or does the grapple automatically pull you to the vehicle? I guess it's a little less useful in this game since you can slingshot-parachute yourself on any terrain, but it was always fun to just attach yourself behind a car and coast.
Oooh I like this one.jet1911 said:
TheFatOne said:I just downloaded the demo from Steam. Man I am getting some really shitty frame rates. With everything on the lowest settings I can get 40FPS. When I mix and match settings I get about 20-30FPS. Game is fun though.

Tried it a few times. Guess I'm not quite good enough to get it. I think the timing was off. I love crashing the helicopters/planes into towers. Tethering a car to the helicopter and smashing it into things is a blast too. :loljet1911 said:
