Just finished Persona 4 Golden. I feel empty inside

Well, thanks to this thread I think I'm gonna restart P4G after I finish Cold Steel. I got like 50 hours into it when I got the PSTV, but something happened and I dropped it.

Or maybe I'll just resume it, I dunno. I love the game, but the length can be exhausting at times.

New here and in the Persona Series. I finished P4G around November last year. I feel the same. I might look into P3 as well if I have the time.

I joining with the wait for Persona 5.

I can recommend but not the same genre.

Atelier Totori (Sadly does not have as much character depth as Persona 4(G))
Dangan Ronpa 1 & 2 (Mystery, Find the Killer!)
Steins;Gate (Visual Novel)

Although they're very different, Danganronpa 1 & 2 might do something for you. Great characters and lots of twists.

Does these games has so much unnecessary dialogues that has nothing to do with the story? can I easily skip them? I didn't finish 999 because of that.

i am playing persona 4 right now on ps3. i am finding it bad so far. first time playing this type of game. i am not walking or exploring anything i keep pressing one button to skip dialogue faster. i have no idea how battle system works i do not like turn based battle so i just press rush. saving is worse since i can't save for some time 30 minutes.

hope it gets better.

Probably biggest draw in Persona is the story and characters, so if you don't enjoy those it's probably not for you.

The battle system is all about exploiting the weaknesses of your enemies, you are just going to get wrecked later in the game if you don't learn that, since your whole party can wipe if you let the monster group have their turn.

If you don't like fusion, don't like the battle system, don't like the story, don't like the characters... I would have literally no idea why someone would stick to Persona 4, unless it was something esoteric like just for the music or something.

Redundant dialogue is unfortunately pretty much everywhere in the genre and Danganronpa is no different.

That being said, it's among the most fast-paced games in the genre and definitely above 999 in that aspect. Shit ramps up pretty frequently and by the end of the first trial, you don't really notice and pacing problems.

Valentines Day may me feel like such a sleeze, I romanced everyone but Ai Eibhara....you don't have to talk to them but damn! I broke some hearts

oddly enough the best person to spend Valentines Day with is with the fellas LOL!!! kanji stay winning!!!

Just pressing rush is going to get you killed at some point. If you have no desire to learn the battle system and don't care for the dialogue, I would honestly just drop it. Yes, it does get much better (the 10 hour mark is when it "clicked" for me), but you need to be at least somewhat interested in what's going on by the time the first battle starts. If the game doesn't align with your tastes, you either try to keep an open-mind and hope it eventually clicks (which is possible since it's your first game in the genre) or just drop it and save yourself the time.

Well, skipping dialogues and rushing the battles won't make anything better and doesn't make sense in Persona 4. If you don't like anything about the game you should just play something different.

Play something else, this isn't the game you're looking for.

thanks for reply guys. Yes I do not think it is the game for me. I thought at least there will be some exploration and going to school walking around town kind of thing. I will try one last time the biggest draw back is actually the save system. I do not have time for long gaming sessions and thus have to press skip and do rush just so that i can save in 30 min or so.Thanks again.

The game is designed to be played in long sessions. I've gone 4-5 hours without going back to save. If you can only play in 30 minute bursts, either get the Vita version and make frequent use of the sleep function or just wait until a lazy weekend or something.

I wish they ported P4G to PS4 like other vita games, I would love to play this on the ps4 in all its glory!

I just finished Persona 4 Golden yesterday and was in disbelief. Out of nowhere credits? Nothing is explained? Hardly any closure.

I really hope the "real" ending is much better, because this one sucked.

Also, are there no challenges like there was on Persona 3? I really liked those.

Where / when did the game end for you?
But yeah, the true ending is much better and explains pretty much everything.

You almost certainly got a bad ending. I'm guessing
you threw Namatame into the TV
? If so, you've missed like another twenty hours of game.

Hahaha, the same thing happened to me. I was quite surprised at that!

My ending wasn't bad:
Nanako survived, Teddie disappeared. Huge time skip, protagonist goes back home, credits.

I didn't even realized I had faced the final boss.

That ending was bad. You hadn't faced the final boss.

The way the bad endings work is honestly my biggest problem with the game.

That's still one of the possible bad endings. There's a very certain set of dialogue options you have to pick during the
conversation with your team about what to do with Namatame
to progress properly. Look it up in a guide, it's kind of clunky and dumb to figure out on your own to be honest.

There's a much different end.
Theres quite a time since I finished it, but did you discover who was behind the incidents?

If you did, there's one better end. If you don't, there's at least two.

you clearly had the worst ending haha

the game force you to use either a walkthrough or multiple playthrough.

With the real extended ending + epilogue, the game basically offer as much content as the base game

Yep, exactly the same thing happened to me. This follow the steps in this post to avoid the bad ending:

Did you save before this?
If you did, fixing this is easy.
Just pick the choices that question the whole situation, forgot what they are but I'll search it up and edit it in a moment.
choose the following options in order:
- Wait a second here...
- We're missing something.
- Namatame's true feelings.
- Something's been bothering me.
- We're missing something...
- Calm the hell down!

Also, did you finish Marie's social link?
If not, use what ever extra time you have just given to beat it because some of Golden's extra content is hidden in there.

maybe after they finish P5, they can go back and port it over. i do agree that having it on Vita only does it a disservice.

Whatever means I can make my friends play the damn thing.

P5P,Atlus pls ;_;

Oh man, that would be amazing!

Yes I missed the anime cutscenes in P3P, but the game stood on it's own!

A VITA kind of P5P would be amazing. Hope they don't cancel the PS3 version since I don't own a PS4.

And still, would prefer to play it on the VITA.

Edit: Almost forgot! I'm Loving Danganronpa! Just beat the first case and man was that intense! Totally different from the Persona games, but I can understand why all the recommendations and comparisons.

If P5 isnt extensive and comprehensive enough to be unable to be on vita, then I will have to question Atlus and their developers. Theyve had more than enough time to make the game feature rich.

I'd honestly have to agree, P5 looks too good for me to be able to enjoy it in a bastardized form. I'll have to somehow make PS3 work on my laptop's monitor, and whether I'll be playing P5 on Remote Play depends on whether it's done over Wi-Fi/a router or not. (I prefer to play in my room, which doesn't have a very good Wi-Fi reception or a TV).

I've just finished P4G and I'm feeling the exact same way as the OP :_(

Let's hope Dancing All Night can fill the hole. Here I go.

(Also I will look for the anime)

Please love yourself and don't do that.

?

I just watched the anime the other week finally.

I thought it did as good of a job as it could have in encapsulating a 70hour odd game in 26 episodes.

(I haven't seen the golden anime though, so if you were talking about that, ignore me)

The gamey aspects (battles, dungeons) of the original anime sucked. The social aspects were ace though.

Havent seen Golden.

The fights were very bland in the anime. Same could be said for the Persona 3 movies as well even with the animation bump. There's a lot of potential for Aigis action scenes but they don't really take advantage of it IMO.
