I just watched Flashpoint Paradox a few days ago and loved it, so I'm all ready for this. Looks good so far, but yeah, Bats' voice... not feeling it.

I hope there's lots of Captain Marvel in it. I've really enjoyed him the various animated appearances and the new costume looks pretty good.

so... are there any major changes?

Superman's Earth parents are dead, superheroes have only been around 10+ years, Wonder Woman is now the daughter of Zeus from a race of child murdering Amazonian rapists and is bumping uglies with Supes, a handful of characters no longer exist/haven't been reintroduced, and....I think that's the biggest stuff.

I hope Aquaman gets his place on the team as he deserves and all the Captain Marvel/Shazam stuff in the promotional material is just a big hoax. IT'S ALL A HOAX.

:(

Dear God,
just stop experimenting with Batman's voice. It doesn't work 85% of the time.

Then you'll be glad to hear that the new guy is here to stay for the next few DTV's set in the New 52 continuity.

I'm willing to give him a chance to grow on me when i see the whole feature. Often times lines that sound a bit awkward to me in promo clips feel better in the context of the whole film. I love Kevin Conroy's work as much as the next guy, but clearly they were going for a more youthful cast with this. What actually bothered me more in this clip is that GL's VA sounds like he should be doing The Flash.

I'd go look for a nice NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO gif, but that's never going to happen so I guess I don't have to.

Must be rough being the lone Aquaman fan. :)

Steve Blum as Darkseid is going to be pretty weak. :/

This just seems like such an uninspired movie from a very uninspired comic book arc.

I would love to see something like Long Halloween, Hush, Red Son, Blackest Night/Brightest Day rather than more Justice League villain of the week.

Flashpoint was great because of how frigging badass it was, while Doom just sucked, so it's definitely dependent on cool stories rather than it just being Justice League.

Considering he's been a great character for years and Geoff Johns' run was one of the best things to come out of the New 52, I'm just going to ignore your dumb post...

They have to find a real replace Kevin Conroy, unfortunately. He's having trouble doing the voice at this point. They need to find one and stick with it for a few DTVs. (Which apparently they're doing with this guy, unfortunately.)

Have they ever said if they're going to do more of the Showcase shorts? Those were all good.

They stopped doing those because the BD/DVD collecting them didn't sell well enough. WB should have priced the release more sensibly or saved all the shorts for the collection instead of including them on the other releases. I imagine most people didn't feel like shelling out $20-30 for one new short if they had the others on disc already.

The last short they released was the Catwoman one on Batman: Year One. Supposedly we would have gotten a Gotham by Gaslight short if they had kept producing them, what a bummer. It's a shame, i really enjoyed those shorts, especially since they put the spotlight on characters that are unlikely to ever get full length features.

That's disappointing, but I agree with your points. I did buy it but it was definitely a little pricey for the content included, especially since I did have the others on the other releases.

If the sales figures on the wiki are correct it doesn't look like it did that bad.

Thanks for the info.

From what i have read over the years in interviews and what not from the creators the issue isn't that some of these don't sell well, but that they don't sell fast enough. Apparently the studio wants returns on their investment as fast as possible. This has been cited in the past as a reason why they weren't too happy with the performance of the Wonder Woman animated film, even though it did well in the long run, and it's why we are seeing nothing but Batman, Superman, and Justice League titles taking turns in the last few years. It's too bad, i recently watched Wonder Woman again and i still think it's one of the very best titles in this line. If they kept going like they started out, we could have had really solid solo features for a bunch of characters outside of the big 3 by now.

But at least the creatives are trying their best to put the spotlight on specific characters in team-up movies, like Supergirl in Superman/Batman - Apocalypse, or recently Flash in Justice League - The Flashpoint Paradox. Also, as someone has already mentioned, they've been hinting at an upcoming film that will feature Aquaman in a prominent role, probably the next Justice League movie, which would supposedly come out early next year, since they have already announced two batman titles for this year.

At the very least it does seem like they are piggy backing some other characters into the spotlight via the Justice League name. So that's something at least. I guess I'll never see a Dr. Fate movie though. :(

Yeah, i would really love to see movies for characters like him, The Question, The Atom, Jason Blood, Booster Gold, and so on, but that's a pipe dream, as their popularity doesn't warrant the cost of solo features. I guess we'll have to make do with Justice League TAS. Now if only they released JLU (and the other DCAU shows, for that matter) on Blu-Ray. :/

wtf no Aquaman?
mehhhhh

Next time, baby. :)

Yeah, I really enjoyed the Wonder Woman one even though I'm not really all that interested in the character. I agree it's one of the stronger ones and I'd say it's at least better than well, all of the Superman solo ones so far. I'm having a hard time trying to remember which Superman and which JL are which now even though I own them all on DVD/BD. I've never read those books and there's so many they just blend in after a while. At least with the Batman movies I've read most of those books. It's a shame they won't branch out more, but I can live with them doing JL movies in the style of Flashpoint Paradox.

What are the two Batman titles announced?

haha. Bats asking the monster questions right after he kicks him is pretty funny.

About his voice, it doesn't seem deep enough or something. Something is missing. Like some bitter, smugness or something.

Conroy - Perfection
Roger Craig Smith - Good
Rino Romano - Good
Bader - Good(even as silly as it was it fit perfectly and was quality voice acting)
Greenwood - Pretty Good
Ruivivar - Pretty Good
Weller - Meh
Baldwin - Shit
McKenzie - Shit
Sisto - Shit
O'Mara - looking to be shit

Plenty of acceptable alternatives but for some reason out of 6 tries to change things up with the DTVs only 1 was good/great(Greenwood).
casting for the dtv movies is just terrible alot of the time.

McKidd gets no love? great as the flashpoint batman.

I literally spit my water out when Batman started interrogating a fucking space monster.

DC

WHY

Heh. For reference, they don't realize what it is (an Apokalyptian Parademon) at first. They think it's a guy until it's revealed. There were hints of the Intergang connection, also, if I recall correctly.

Ironside was equal if not better than Conroy.

I wonder where Arnett will place in this list.
