I want to hear the rest of the "Father's Day" joke. That sounds worse, given his friend's reaction.
It's "What is a black kid's least favorite holiday?".
Guys,
Which one is worst: Dr Dre beating up a woman 20 years ago or Justin Bieber using the n word 5 years ago?
Pls advise
And he's a lot older here. Well now.
well shit. I have no idea what's on his mind. I just know he rolls with a team of brothas.![]()
he young tho
Anyone mind telling me where a young kid might learn this stuff from?
DMeister, you are not this daft.
He's a kid. Kid's are prone to saying stupid shit and finding offensive things funny. It would explain why my 10 year old cousins has an obsession with watching R Rated films and saying the F word while his mom isn't around.
People grow up, mature, and get life experiences. If you are going to belittle the guy for being an early or pre teenager and try to hold him up to some moral coda, than you should really reassess what you expect out of people. It's unreasonable to try and make this into a race issue. He's a kid being a kid, yeah its stupid and racist, but kids have done and said much worse things to me.
As long as there is a taboo associated with the n-word, the immature and politically incorrect nature of youth will abuse it.
I wasn't supposed to laugh, but I did.
This looks like it was damn near 6 years ago. I'd ask his parents where he got that joke from, since he was still living under their roof then. Also, given his crews, I think it's fair to assume he doesn't find that humorous anymore.
well shit. I have no idea what's on his mind. I just know he rolls with a team of brothas.
Privileged sheltered little tryhard douchecanoe.
Not that I love Beiber, but so what? Raise your hand if you've never once said that word in a joke context, kids make that mistake all the time and learn from it. Not saying it's right, but the only reason this is getting any sort of attention is because he's famous and it was recorded. Let's put your guys' childhoods under a microscope and see what comes up. Get off your high and mighty asses.
It's so weird to me. I know little about the kid, but a black guy (Usher) gave him his big break, and most of the artists and producers I've seen him rolling around with since his balls dropped and voice deepened have been black.Speculation is that it was taken 3 years ago, so he would have been 17. Don't know about anyone else but I knew at age 17 that jokes like these are not socially acceptable.
Oh come on. Are you seriously accusing him of being a racist if he ONCE (especially since it looks like he was in his teens at the time of the recording) made a joke which had a word nigger. If that makes him a racist, then I guess I must be too.
In a post 9/11 world, I lived in Madison, Alabama. Where every single day I was judged, critcized, and socially questioned. That sort of thing didn't bother me. That's outward racism, which Beebs is doing a perfect example of here.
The shit that hurt me, were things no one says, but feels on the inside. The innate racism. The racism taught at home, but never said publicly. The "don't trust him, but say hello" bullshit.
For example, I remember being invited to a friend's Church once. I came in early and sat in the first row on the right bench. As people began filing in, not a single person came to sit by me, let alone did any one say hello to me.
Racism, bigotry, and misgivings - will always exist. There is no reason to be over sensitive. I've always felt like it's my duty to rise above the stereotype and through my personality and communication skills- to change people's belief and coda.
I want to hear the rest of the "Father's Day" joke. That sounds worse, given his friend's reaction.
Eh, a lot of us were stupid teens saying racial epithets to seem cool for a little while.Being racist isn't right, whether you're age 15 or 51.
I wonder if he ever said the joke to his black friend who copped the drugs possession charge for him?
No, it's not like that at all. It's just a racial joke and he probably heard it watching some black standup guy.
Eh, a lot of us were stupid teens saying racial epithets to seem cool for a little while.
I would imagine the majority of us said a lot of dumb shit when we were 15.
As sad as this sounds, this sort of mentality is prevalent everywhere. It's sad, but it's reality. Racism at some level (being Pakistani and Muslim) exists whether outwardly stated or not.
In any case, Justin looks really young in the video, and despite the myriad of "Fuck Beiber" posts that are going to come raining down, I'd like to think he's 'just a kid'. Kid's say stupid things, kid's behave in dumb ways, and kid's are prone to being jackasses.
The following years would catapult his career and put him squarely in the same rooms as Usher, Kanye West, and plenty of other prolific, talented, and famous African Americans. I would hope, atleast by this point, the kid has wised up and broadened his views on race.
In any case, he's a kid, and kid's say dumb things. Let's not tear him down for this. There's are plenty of other reasons to criticize him, but using this as ammo, an antiquated video of a boy not yet into the realm of stardom, is just plain reaching.
(Also I am assuming this is Justin pre-his famous years)
Who is this
I feel that when rappers use the N-word in their tracks, it perpetuates the use of the slur.
What does the N-word even mean to young people these days?
And now I dislike Bieber even more, would you look at that.
Well, having read the rest of this thread, I'm once again disappointed in people. Do yourself a favor and avoid the rest of this thread if you see this.
No, really, don't look at it, it's awful.

This just in: a young kid makes a racist joke.
I think he's a douche, don't get me wrong, but most kids make racist jokes at some point.
He's just a kid at this point.
No.
No no no no no.
Hell no.
We are not about to normalize this shit. Like it's OK to go through a racist joke phase. We all went through a racist joke phase, right? I mean, you must have had a really sheltered childhood if you didn't tell a few jigaboo jokes, amirite? Because I sure didn't, and neither did any of the kids I grew up with.
Making jokes like this, thinking it's ok, and RECORDING that shit takes a special kind of ignorance and privilege.
Or maybe I've actually experienced real racism so I know it when I see it? I've only been called a nigger to my face once and I'll never forget it.
I'm just having a hard time pumping up my outrage meter at jokes I've heard many times from other black folks. There's also a joke about black men and pizza (look it up) which I first heard from black folks. It's funny while being racial and stereotypical but I wouldn't call a white person a racist just for telling or laughing at it..
Keep defending your masta lol, so sad.
Please. Are you saying you've never shot the shit with your friends and said a few racist jokes/dead baby jokes? I'm sure that JB has nothing against black people.
