Kay Plays |OT|

She learned quickly from that fight in the woods. The next battle was basically a cakewalk. She makes me really nervous by how close she puts some units to the enemy. But maybe I just have more faith in their aim stats than she does. I think that lancer missing at close range early in the game soured her faith hehe

The game never interested me so I never watched her Fez series but I noticed she only had two videos in the playlist. Did Kay beat the game in two videos?!

Nah. She realized that sort of platforming wasn't her thing. She liked the puzzle solving, but hated moving around the world.

She did, however, solve something in 2 episodes that you're not supposed to be able to solve until infinitely later.

Ah, that's pretty awesome and definitely something I can see her doing. Watching her Anor Londo clip in the OP is what made me start following her in the first place. I think we can safely dub her as the "Batman of Let's Plays" instead of just Dark Souls. :p Anyways thanks for the explanation.

Yeah. Anytime someone says something in Dark Souls is impossible to figure out, you can just link them her LP because she basically got it all.

Largo pls

Kay pls

A mix of Largo getting bad RNG and Kay getting rattled and not paying the usual attention to the HUD. I'm sure episode 10 will go better!

Yeah there were certain times where the shots to kill wasn't being displayed, so I don't think the game would register it as a hit. Just a smidge too close to the foreground.

Now that I think about it, I don't think I've ever done that fight before. Then again, I didn't do a lot with the newspaper stuff. I might go back and mess around with it since it unlocks some fights with more restrictions

What was it that she discovered?

Someome should tell her that if you hold up, you can fly and remove all the platforming.

Just got through the first few episode of Valkyrie chronicles and have to say it's pretty good so far. Always found kay to be one of the more genuine and less gimmicky lets player which I can appreciate.

There is a fake alphabet in Fez that litter the signs and some of the dialogue of some of the NPCs.

She saw it, screenshotted it and then basically went, "well I did cryptology so this shouldn't be hard to figure out" and destroyed the part of the game people spent a while trying to figure out and decipher when it came out. Like over the course of a video she just showed how she did it. Otherwise if you play the game in the normal course and you want to participate in that part of the game you have to
find a cipher and there are clues as to exactly what each symbol is which letter but Kay just solved it with actual methods codebreakers and stuff use.

It's in one of her Fez videos and is literally the best thing ever.

She actually thought it was more complex than it actually was. She knew right away that it was arranged vertically judging by how the spaces were arranged (and because of how awkward it would have been to be word rapped) but she originally assumed it was read left to right, meaning the way she wrote them down, as three lines of text per dialogue box stacked on top of each other, had to have the positions of the first and third lines switched in order for the dialogue to make sense.

What I liked about this was how it clearly interests her, because the methodology of creating your own cipher, a legend that counts every occurrence of each symbol, and over time explaining the statistical probabilities of letters in order to deduce the most common letters and break it down from there is nothing if not tedious. More so that she broke it down into steps to show it to us.

I think, for me, that one of the things that makes Kay so entertaining is that she can't see the forest for the trees sometimes. She gets caught up in small little things and sometimes misses huge things happening on the screen. It's both frustrating and extremely endearing.

Yeah, like, her ideas for some of the puzzles in the Tomb Raider reboot would have been infinitely more interesting/involved than what the actual devs came up with.

Unfortunately it led to her getting caught up in some puzzles that were fairly simple if she wasn't trying for an interesting solution.

What often gets her in trouble is she will miss tutorial messages on screen.

why is she putting so many points into DEX to use a spear that is barely any better than her club? (Although I'm a winged spear fan)

I'm really excited for the next chapter. It was easily the toughest in my first playthrough of the game but in my second I totally destroyed it knowing what was coming and being able to preplan a little better.

I hope the next game Kay plays will be a more story, lore rich gameplay ripe for her good sense of exploration and investigation.

Basically, I wish she'd play the Legacy of Kain series.

The way she keeps losing this fight is too funny to me.

Good job all around. Kinda wish she saw just how crazy in battle Selvaria was though.

I think I lost this damn fight like 6 times during my first play-through.
My wife starts playing earlier this week and does it in one, totally big-timing me. :D

Welcome Back, Oscar.

Official Oscar "snipers belong on the front lines!" Bielert death count: 5

Too bad the medic doesn't get any experience points, Kay's medic put in work this episode, along with another strategically placed Rosie. :D

It kinda makes me sad how perfect The Witness is for Kay Plays because I was looking forward to her playing Bloodborne :(

But yeah, she must play The Witness ASAP
