Yeah probably. I think it'd be cool if they worked kinda like Zato-1/Eddie. So like you play as Ken but Koromaru works like your shadow and attacks when you negative edge or something.

The first game was very easy to get into so I wouldn't get too worried about it honestly. P4A didn't even use shoryuken inputs.
