PS lowkey had a good amount of content in 2021I expected a 7/10. Happy and surprised.
This week is another great one for Playstation: Kena, Death Stranding DC and Lost Judgment.
Sure, but Kena is designed to provide Quality pixar moments, if you look at other awesome indie games you will see them lacking in many aspects but each one of them excel in something specific and that's why they are rated high. These reviews wanna be ''Critical''? sure, what was said may be true in these reviews, but the reviewer needs to be realistic with the expectations before criticising. This is their first game, their vision is specific and clear to everyone, so i don't care if the game lacks things, what matter is that they achieved their vision and we got a new charming IP. The foundation is strong for a sequel with better gameplay. With better budget and more developers they can expand on the gameplay. Not only Eurogamer. The below from PC gamer.
"The fundamental issue with Kena, which rears its head almost everywhere you look, is that you'll have done almost everything on offer here a hundred times before. Combat is very familiar, complete with enemies carrying glowing weak spots. There are giant flowers which act as grapple points. There are targets to shoot within a time limit. The ledges you can grab on to are, as is tradition, marked with what I can only assume is bird poo. Strategic use of game design conventions isn't inherently bad, but in no area does Kena reach beyond convention."
Being critical isn't bad lol. Nothing wrong with pointing out if something isn't done quite so well.
Can you elaborate what "quality pixar moments" mean in terms of a video game? If you mean the overall visual presentation, I 100% agree. Certainly hit the brief there. But the reviews we are discussing are about the gameplay, not the graphics. Almost every outlet universally agrees the games "looks" fantastic.Sure, but Kena is designed to provide Quality pixar moments, if you look at other awesome indie games you will see them lacking in many aspects but each one of them excel in something specific and that's why they are rated high. Man, the cringy Pixar comparisons never get old. R&C photo mode is at least somewhat close to Pixar, but this? Come onPixar presents Kena: Bridge of Spirits

Different people like different things not sure what every reviewer needs to agree as long as they explain why. If the things that bother them don’t bother you then that review isn’t somehow not useful.Sure, but Kena is designed to provide Quality pixar moments, if you look at other awesome indie games you will see them lacking in many aspects but each one of them excel in something specific and that's why they are rated high. I get it, your favorite toy got a timed exclusive and you have to hype it up. But if you truly believe that Kena is "pixar level", you need to have your eyes checked
Photomode really gorgeous. I just sunk in 2 hours and I love it. I agree with some critical review that there is nothing new in terms of gameplay but who cares? It is done well, comfy and enjoyable. Great job ember lab.Pixar presents Kena: Bridge of Spirits

The charm you see in a pixar movie turned into a game. That vision easily influence the quality of the [story, gameplay animation, particles, excitement, lore..etc]. For me it is amazing. Kena is not even my taste but i can't ignore the talent. Can you elaborate what "quality pixar moments" mean in terms of a video game?
Well, i don't mind if that is their taste but i'm not gonna [endorse/admire] opinions that only care about their own experience.Different people like different things not sure what every reviewer needs to agree as long as they explain why. The whole “it’s their first game” thing is silly to me. I don’t go to a restaurant and enjoy a meal more of it was only Ok but the chefs first job.
You're spectating. I'm in the gameI get it, your favorite toy got a timed exclusive and you have to hype it up. But if you truly believe that Kena is "pixar level", you need to have your eyes checked![]()

What's up VFX VeteranY'all need to learn the difference between Pixar, Disney, DreamWorks and so on.yes it triggers me
How would you compare the graphics of Kena Vs R&C? What's better and what's worse? You're spectating. I'm in the game![]()
Both have stellar production values and are aesthetically pleasing to the eye. I'd say Rift Apart looks a bit crisper as it should and it usually has a lot more going on overall as far as objects on the screenHow would you compare the graphics of Kena Vs R&C? What's better and what's worse?

Very happy with the reviews. ACG's review was glowing. Now I don't understand at all why Sony didn't give this a bigger pr-push.
It would only work if Kena was actually at Pixar level. It simply isn'tI get it, your favorite toy missed out on a great game and you have to downplay it any way you can.
See? That works both ways.

I believe it. The aesthetic of the game is certainly that of an animated movie. The tech isn't anywhere close to Pixar though. The developer, before they got into game development, were an animation studio for movies is what I read somewhere during the game's announcement.
