There's alot of this album I like. It feels like TPAB 0.5. There's some songs that could've fit on To Pimp a Butterfly.

okay 2 3 4 5 6 the first half of 7 and 8 are amazing

hm well according to my calculations that means this EP averages out to "real good"

Can this dude fuck off with the Jazz bullshit already. I just want GKMC part 2.

Agreed. GKMC is second only to MBDTF for my album of the decade. TPAB was a massive disappointment for me. The jazzy shit just doesn't sound right to me, and I consider myself a fan of jazz.

But lots of people really LOVE this new sound from Kendrick, so I can see it continuing.

Count me as someone who really, really fucking loves jazzy kendrick. TPAB is my favorite album of his, and I'm already really liking this. That's not to say I don't love gkmc or section 80, but jazzy hip hop is my shit.

I'm really glad he put these out, even if I don't like them too much. I'm glad none of these were on TPAB though, the album's better for it.

Kendrick will come with a different style on the next album. I think that's what's so encouraging about TPAB. Shows that he's willing to change up his style and take risks.

This EP is a sidekick to TPAB for sure. It's great for that.

Gonna be interesting to see how the (heavily rumored) J. Cole collab turns out. Don't think we get another Kendrick solo till '18, maybe late 2017.

Dunno if you guys saw the tweet or not, but there is a reason this sounds like TPAB.

Demos from To Pimp A Butterfly. In Raw Form. Unfinished. Untitled. Unmastered.

Just listening through it and I'm already loving it. Just reminds me why Jazz Rap is my favorite subgenre. The sound is obviously much more TPAB but it feels as direct as his 'Overly Dedicated' album which is also more on the jazzy/melodic side.

Shame that the alright piece isn't there, I'd so love to hear some full version of it.

Edit: Listened through it. #5 my favorite.

When I listened to "Sing about me, I'm dying of thirst" I wanted more of that and TPAB is more of that. I take "Sing about Me" over "Backseat Freestyle" or "Poetic Justice" any day. In fact when I listened through GKMC again I had a few songs I didn't like but TPAB has none I dislike. Different strokes for different folks, I guess. I love it that he went into that direction.

we already heard 3/8 of the songs before release, of course we knew they were going to be leftovers. lol.

Untitled 2 & 5 are absolutely great. That flow would've been so nice over a solid TPAB instrumental. This EP has knocked TLOP out of main rotation for the time being.

Not sure how I feel about this album. A lot of good songs but it doesn't feel like a cohesive whole like his others (it probably isn't supposed to given the untitled nature of it.) Also have to agree with everyone that untitled 3 is way better live. So much energy building up in the live version, I just wanted it to keep building up and Kendrick shouting "we don't die! We multiply!" But the album version is just too toned down.

Well it's not an album, it's an EP of stuff that didn't make TPAB and the live stuff he played, so of course it's not going to feel as cohesive.

They need to master it and maybe add more songs on it (I'm sure he has way more leftovers there) and release it physical. Would love it to have it on Vinyl.

Lol he makes 1 album and gives us the unreleased songs and we get these shit comments.

I just want him to do what inspires him. If that's GKMC 2 down the road, cool. If not, cool.

Has anyone found any cool alternate artwork? I cannot stand the crushed brown/green velvet look of the cover. Clashes so hard with how my synesthesia hears the colors of the music. Thanks
