Kevin Butler "Moves" from the FUTURE

jett said:
dumb argument really, the motion fighter game doesn't even have 1:1 controls, it's all gesturing/waggling crap. If you had seen the GDC stuff you'd know it lags considerably...well, as considerably as any wii game. Fake video in advertisement is fake, oh noes.

That video is from November 2010, you saw the game in March. :P

Keep it classy, the wiiremote is the signal reason that the move even exists. To take shots at it just seems ridiculous.

:lol

Pretty crude bash on Natal, but with Kevin Butler you can do anything :lol

Just awesome!:lol

Hi this Move deserves a second Kevin Butler ad, featuring Kevin and Jenna Jameson teaching about the dildo usage of Move (it also does rumble) to the unsatisfied woman of the Kevin Butler GoW3 ad.

probably mentioned, but he says 2010 the right way first, and then a second later he says it the wrong way. The fuck?

Really, is this starting AGAIN?
The Move concept was in the works way before the Wii was announced. There are tons of videos going back to 2003/2004 with this colored sphere, developed by the guy behind EyeToy...

Well would Sony have released Move if it weren't for the Wii's success?

Also does anyone know when Nintendo actually started the remote concept? I know it went back into the Gamecube era but was this a late idea?

Yes PS3 commercial bashing PS3, riiiiight.

Right, because they don't make fun of their-self at all.

Anyway saying that the Royals will win and the Move will be a success is that same as saying the Move will fail since he is from the future.

Of course they would have released it without Nintendo. Just with much less fanfare, like the EyeToy back then. Casual as a niche.
Nintendo broadened the market demographic, made the casual gaming big. Of course now everyone wants on the motion control train.

Also, no, I have no idea when Nintendo started with their R&D.

Sorry that this doesnt exactly belong into this thread...

You know, this may be the new "I'm an expert" meme.

Keep it classy, Killswitch is the signal reason that Gears even exists.
To take shots at it just seems ridiculous.

Keep it classy, GT is the signal reason that Forza even exists.
To take shots at it just seems ridiculous.

Yup, works pretty well.

:lol Pretty funny. The Kevin Butler ads have been the best gaming ads I've seen in recent memory. Nice jabs at the competition. Though his criticism of Natal seemed harsher, it's all in good fun, don't see why any fanboys or loyalists should be offended.

I don't know about you guys, but pointing my finger and going "bang" and having something happen, while part of the larger, almost-irrelevant-to-me-if-not-the-overall-expanded-market-inclusive-of-waggle-and-motion-capture-loving-folks trend / thing...

... still seems kinda neat to me.

Though, granted, it does occur to me that my hand lacks the many buttons I'd typically use in an FPS.

I don't really see either of these things substantively replacing the controller / mouse+keyboard from a quality of gameplay perspective. Maybe in a decade or two of refinement.

OMG who fucking cares? I mean, don't fucking answer that because clearly a lot of people really fucking care, but fuck all of those people.

Also, cute commercial. I hope MS doesn't go all bloody serious pretentious and gives us some of this stuff instead.

I expect a similar campaign to the first attempt of Microsoft of answering the "I'm a Mac and I'm a PC" Apple ads.

Love it! I just hope Microsoft see this as a challenge and make some funny stuff in return. :lol

Microsoft isn't known for their sense of humor. You know that mysterious organization trying to buy the R&C weapons in the Kevin Butler ad for A Crack in Time? Yeah, MS is kind of like that. :lol

Then again, when your company's operating system powers >95% of the world's computers, you probably can't afford to have a sense of humor. We're all one serious unpatched exploit of Windows away from the collapse of world civilization, whether you know it or not. If all the world's Windows machines, which are now mostly all connected on a single global data network, all got a fatal virus at the same time and hard drives all wiped, the scenario would indeed be world economic collapse. So yeah, how about that Natal?! :lol

Haven't they tried something similar to a Kevin Butler when they had ads with Jane Lynch?

Keep it classy, Jane Lynch is the signal reason that Kevin Butler even exists.
To take shots at it just seems ridiculous.

It's not a cat fight when only one side is fighting. Nintendo continues to shrug off everything Sony throws at them and I haven't seem Microsoft comment on the move at all.

This is throwing stones from glass houses in my opinion. Making fun of using your hand as a gun like it's any worse than pretending a dildo with a glowing ping pong ball is better.
Oh lighten up..

crasherball said:
arent they afraid that MS will even do them worse? :D

i can already see the wii-mote 2.0 bashings from MS lol

Microsoft isn't even in a position to bash when they haven't let the public wrestle with their "motion controller" publicly yet. We don't even know if the thing works outside of pre-set conditions and software.

No, they were working on this since the early 00's just for fun.

Raist said:
Better as in, exactly the same?

Nah, they seemed a little more dynamic. Especially the SOCOM one. Someone commented that at the GDC presentation, the dude didn't have to do an overarm swing to throw a grenade, when he had to here. I mean, it could've just been a set-up, but the interaction just looked a little more involved and interesting.

I love it. I hope KB pull a Crash and bring the next commercial to the head quarter of Nintendo or Microsoft.

Or the StarFox 64/Rumble Pak promo video where a couple of Sony and Sega goons kidnap an NOA playtester.

The best part was when they tortured a Mario plushie by hooking it up to a car battery.

For some reason I thought they kidnapped Ken Lobb.
