Konami trademarks Gensou Suikogaiden, Ganbare Goemon, and Emotional Voice System in Japan
A handful of new Konami trademarks.
Konami filed trademarks for “Gensou Suikogaiden,” “Ganbare Goemon,” and “Emotional Voice System” on October 5 in Japan.
Gensou Suikogaiden is a two-volume visual novel spin-off of the Suikoden RPG series. Suikogaiden Vol. 1: Swordsman of Harmonia launched for PlayStation in September 2000 in Japan, and Suikogaiden Vol. 2: Duel at Crystal Valley followed in March 2001. The series never launched outside of Japan.
Ganbare Goemon, known as simply Goemon and Mystical Ninja outside of Japan, is Konami’s long-running franchise themed around Japanese folklore. The latest console game in the franchise was Ganbare Goemon: Toukai Douchuu Ooedo Tengu ri Kaeshi no Maki, which launched for DS in June 2005.
“Emotional Voice System” is the name of the system implemented in the Tokimeki Memorial series starting with the release of Tokimeki Memorial 2 in November 1999, which enabled the girls in the game to pronounce the player’s custom name. This same system is present in the otome spin-off series Tokimeki Memorial: Girl’s Side, so it was likely trademarked for use in Tokimeki Memorial: Girl’s Side 4th Heart, which is in development for Switch.
