Nah, he got everything pretty much spot on. He even knew about Steep but had thought it had been canned due to its failures everywhere else.

As in what was actually on the show floor, not what was actually in the presentation video. He stated he was working at the location, so obviously he leaked what he saw from promotional material and the booths.

I don't read 4chan much but isn't everyone just called anonymous with no post history so it wouldn't be possible to view someone's track record and know if they're trustworthy?
Actually Easy Allies did. Not only did Kyle Bosman bank on the 4chan leak being true due to the inclusion of a title simply called "milk", the rest of the crew started workshopping ideas as to what it could mean or have you do for the game, they got pretty close.

I know he was right but for example he never said specifically " Steep was planned but now is not coming". He instead said " a third party game that bombed now is not coming "( i don't recall if he said ubisoft though ). He also said that there were/are multiple third party games coming but never said what "was" coming ( name of the games etc ). That is what i meant. This is also why ( in my opinion) lot of people didn't pay "attention" to him,
Eh, leaks this close to the actual thing are pretty lame and pointless though. Once you get to less than a day beforehand and it's a fairly big event, more and more people have to get in the loop, which raises the chances of someone blabbing to about 100%. At that point you might as well wait the exta half day and not make the event less exciting/surprising. It's bascailly why I stop looking at GAF in the hours before a big event like this.

Well, you can't verify the legitimacy of twitter "insiders" more than some anon on 4chan. I wouldn't say it's giving too much credit. "My uncle works for Nintendo" coming out of the mouth of some anon has just as much legitimacy as someone with a twitter.
Just my two cents though.

I find it funny that this forum had multiple threads about information from supposed "insiders" like Emily Rogers and Laura Kate Dale all leading up to the Switch event where most of said information turned out completely false or absent.

Aside from non-anon accounts, yeah. Basically a broken clock is right twice a day kind of situation, except it's a shit-encrusted clock. It was also really close to the actual event so it's not like this is particularly amazing.

Yes, that's the whole point. And everyone there mocks people trying to make a name for themselves. Most just roll with it in the fake leak threads.
That's why you also shouldn't start going there in the hope of finding good leaks.
You say that, but that's not stopping any other insider of posting that info either.
You can have a unique tripcode if you want to but most real leakers seem to do it as a one off easy anonymous leak.

With 4chan there is no twitter handle trying to gain fame. So that cuts out some of the bs.

That's just from the past few weeks because I can't remember what else she said earlier.
The only points against her at the moment, off the top of my head, are the MIA Mother 3, no female player in Zelda, and the new courses in Mario Kart (which might have been her source interpreting the bundled DLC tracks as new courses). But she believes the former is still coming. The latter is looking unlikely at the moment but some people seem to be holding out for playable Zelda. I don't think she commented on the 4chan leak. Her conduct was also the most professional of all the leakers imo.
LKD got some stuff right and was misled by some sources. I think she might have just been a bit overzealous in some cases but a lot of her info was legit.
I gave as much as I could and said it was very informed speculation. And I always maintained what I did know (hardware, os and 3rd party) vs what I didn't know (first party, contents of the presentation, etc.)
Still waiting to see how the rest of the software and other things I've said panned out, we still don't know for sure no browser or Netflix I guess right? But it's looking that way. None of the other leakers had that which almost made me doubt my source, especially as gaf came down hard on me.
Yea not sure what happened there, I owned up to that one being wrong. Can't get everything right. Possibly it got outsourced or something instead of outright cancelled.

There was some discrepancies with ER's claims. But there were several details that are correct or semi correct.
Laura Dale was way off the mark if I'm correct. Way off.
