That's strange, I thought Team Gizka shut down.
This is a different group. Man I used to know the acronyms and teams by memory because I followed the progress of them all.

One was called something like The Sith Lords Complete Restoration and one was called The Sith Lords Restoration Project.

Stoney is still working on the droid planet material, so it's not 100% done. But since there was so little droid planet material left for them to go on, a lot of it will be original. I guess it can be considered an expansion pack when it finally comes out.

Edit: RTFA, self. It says so right in the article.

Never heard of that one. I was a frequent lurker on their forums hoping for an update, too bad they gave up. Glad to see it complete though.

Great news, now I just need to go through installing KotOR2 on my computer (wasn't easy last time as I recall).

They found the ending!
More like pieced it together.

But yeah, I don't have access to my DVD anymore. Would love a digital release. :(
Piffle, one DVD is for chumps. Real gamers have KotOR2 on 4 CD's. That are loose in a bin somewhere in a real gamer's closet.

I guess it's time to re-install KOTOR 2 again.
Are there any good mods for The game? Like high-res texture pack and wide screen?

So when is LucasArts going to let me buy it at a digital distribution outlet?

Should I play the game as it is or should I use this?
ymmv but I couldn't complete the game because of bugs

a 3rd party patch helped me get through an earlier part of the game, but near the end the game would just keep locking up and I gave up

Ending came out last year.

While I played TOR I did it because of the Mass Effect like story system and didn't much care for the SW part of it. Did they even factor any bit of KOTOR II into it or just ignore it completely?

A buddy of mine who seemed like he was in the know when it came to this stuff pretty much said TOR acted as a KOTOR II and the origianl didn't exist.

Isn't the rumour that George Lucas didn't like the way that the SW universe is portrayed and explored in the game? The writers' love / hate relationship with the fiction comes through quite clearly. It's not your typical Star Wars story.

Does this have the droid factory?
No, it's restored content, not new modder content.

I think you mean the droid planet.

It doesn't have the planet because there wasn't enough content in the original release for them to re-create it.

However, in the PC Gamer interview, the team says that they're going to make their own version of the planet using what material they have as well as creating original material. So, the droid planet will be kind of like an expansion pack!

I remember playing some version of the droid planet many many year ago. I believe stoney was behind that too. Is he just working on that same thing?

This is exciting. Not only did i not play KOTOR2 after hearing it was rough, i managed to avoid spoilers too...sounds like it has a unique story.

Downloading as we speak. Will have to get out my spelunking gear in order to find my CDs though.

Sorry, every other game in my backlog.

Your buddy is definitely not in the know. Hell, there's a Star Wars EU novel connecting the vague end of KOTR2 to TOR.

A few elements from KoToR 2 come up about halfway through leveling, but it's supplementary to everything that comes up from the first game really.

Which is probably why it exploits the universe in a way that is so vastly superior to anything Lucas could come up with.

Thats just the content on disc. We will never get the actual ending that was planned before the rush.

Thanks for posting! Will have to check this out soon, as I've been looking for a reason to play Kotor2.

I'm excited to see how people who didn't play it in its release context will receive it. There's so much to discuss about the story, characters and themes in this game.

I remember it took me forever to learn that you could unlock the party member quest and dialogue tree paths with negative influence as well. I remember trying compromise on my early playthoughs and be goody-goody with handmaiden, a dick for GOTO, etc. Just make sure you get mostly "+"'s OR "-"'s for a single party member and you should unlock those paths.
