Kuju Entertainment PS3 game demonstrated

Well i call it fps, what am i supposed to type 3rdPS?

If a game has a toggleable third and first person view but you run around shooting with fps gameplay, what is it?

And all this time i never knew TRIBES was 2 genres in one, yay!!!

I just read the translation of the caption under the picture that says "PC" it says this...

Furthermore, really although it is made in high picture quality of hi-vision correspondence, this time with the relationship which projects the picture of note PC to the screen, picture quality has fallen.

So its not saying its for the PC...just saying that the picture moving one device to another then the PC...the picture quality has fallen...unless i'm reading it wrong.

Apparently Metal Arms and Ratchet and Clank: Up Your Arsenal are now first person shooters, whereas Metroid Prime is clearly a third person action game.

BT, it's the PC version, trust me, you can see the Windows XP cursor in both shots, looks to me like they're saying the opposite, i.e:

"Although made for HD, the graphics on the PC are lower quality" :P

So why did the thread starter state it was for the PS3? Is it just that they are making it on a PC until they recieve the PS3 dev kit?

Thats probably right. Probably the reason for the detailed plywood textures on the floor.

Looks like those guys that wanted gibs back in games got their wish. Personally, that's a bit too much for me.

Gamespot:
Genre: Sci-Fi First-Person Shooter

But the Xbox site calls it action, so i guess it's action. Still a fps to me. If the game comes out and you can toggle the view what are you going to call it?

Could just be a video being played back off a laptop or something.

:lol

It was pointed out to me on another board that the translation theres a bunch of times it says "place t Shaun 3". That could be an error in the tranlator where its supposed to say Playstion 3...

O.o

Heres the translation for the title of the article...

Seminar of the English embassy sponsorship, in "play UK 2006" for place t Shaun 3 demonstration image of software!

It's a PS3 game (article doesn't mention PC version anywhere), they probably just show demo video from laptop to projector. Guess I should've use 'shown' instead of 'demonstrated' :P

I guess that settles that. I guess place T Shaun 3 does translate to Playstion 3

Quick run through... I'm no one, but it'll do in a pinch, eh?

-Kuju Entertainment is demoing software it's developing for PS3.
-They have done lots of software including things like Call of Duty
-Prove Japan ain't the only one who knows what they're doing
-Demo titled Redwood Falls
-FPS
-Shocked at realism of person.
-Subsurface Scattering
-The more you shoot the more you peel off the layers of the body and where you shoot changes the damage. Shoot in the same spot deeper and deeper you peel.
-Seems to "perfectly" mirror human insides.
-Genhead and Gencroud middleware.
-CEO Says 50% rise in production costs.
-Insufficient expertise will necesitate middleware.
-Genhead takes 2d picture of person and makes 3d head.
-Gencroud alters and modifies the faces (like facial expressions), more so even gender or races can be transformed.
-They're hoping to further gaming like TV, and push for game streaming over the net for instant gaming and having the gamer control the story... blah blah blah.

So let me get this straight, basically they're digicam shots of a projector showing a video from a laptop of a PS3 game? :lol

In which case anybody commenting at all on the graphical quality needs to remove their head from their ass :lol :lol :lol

I got to see the Redwood Falls demo firsthand. Those shots don't nearly do it justice. The skin regeneration is amazing. The concept of blowing off an infected humans leg and having it regrow a body creates some scary gameplay possibilities.

Awesome. I can't wait until next gen gets in full swing.

can't really tell anything from those pics except there's one zombie in an empty room, so there's nothing too technically impressive going on there

The art is minimalistic enough that it's clear that this demo was likely showing realtime decomposition of skin/tissue/etc. In that case, it really can only be considered on how good that effect look divided by the fact that it could be using a lot more system resources than you'd have in game for that sort of thing.

Nice! How was the model and the surroundings? Though, this video seems to be more about that "regernation" feature than actual visuals.

I agree. Thats probably the case with this showing.

Which is what Fishie was saying in the first place...

Pic quality isn't the best, but you can still tell this isn't good by any stretch of the imagination

did they actually show any of the game or was it more of a technology showcase?

How exactly does it play like a fps?

And what kind of stupid logic is this anyway. If somebody masturbates with his feet does this make it his hands then?

your analogy is boinked...
it would still be masterbating :D

see
masturbating = the view (1st/3rd)

hands/feet = the controls (they function the same but look different)

so there
it controls like a 1st person shooter, you know like in socom where u can select the different control setups...
i would call that 2nd person i guess...

puebla said:
do u consider RE4 a fps too??
RE4 Controls differently
you dont use both analogs
you dont use one for "movement" and one for "aiming"

OMG shut the fuck up already. You are seriously arguing about this shit? A thousand Shawn Michaels pic posts are less worthless than you.

Wasn't BS seen as a very impressive game (specifically the explosions)?

By totaly dilusional fanboys perhaps

For somebody so important in the game industry with so many connections, you sure do seem to have A LOT of free time to troll PS3, Hajiki. Gotta keep on that mission to free unwitting young minds of Sony's corruption, I guess.

Right ...

But, when you're trolling sarcastic comments you're so blind with rage... that's just kind of sad. lol

From what I can tell from those pics the texturing looks somewhere between the worst I have ever seen this side of Sega saturn to the best I have ever seen this side of Sega Saturn.

Serously people, these two lil pictures show absolutely nothing.
Its downright idiotic to start proclaiming it a 360 killer or awesomely textured super duper high res game or even declare it as shit on the basis of these two low res low quality digicam external screen grabs.

Wow, you seriously cannot be objective media. You are bordering on having absolutely no integrity or credibility if the one-sidedness of your posts is anything to go on. None, unless you happen to work for Microsoft or Nintendo.

I'll admit, its not much to go on...but the layering of graphical detail within the model is pretty impressive, as is the background. The model itself is not incredibly complex, but for a first-gen in-game enemy...it's looking pretty good.

That being said, Microsoft's upcoming stuff looks on par with this.

I seem to be objective enough to be hired by an an Official PS2 mag.

I mean seriously, look at the two pics.
No one can make valid judgements from those, NO ONE.
Yeah the game might be all that and a bag of crisps, or it might be total horsedung, I dont know since I am not familiar with the title, but those two screens say absolutely nothing.
If we had em in glorious high def direct feed, that would be something else entirely.
But those two low res of screen, fuzzy digi cam grabs......nah.
